I feel like we don’t really acknowledge the absolutely unhinged levels of moral superiority people hold over fans of ofmd. Like I’m not gonna get into specifics but it’s so completely bonkers to me that people will see enjoyment of MUCH more problematic media and skip along their merry way… But then when a show with a diversity of skin tones, sexuality, gender, ability, AND writers gets popular, suddenly you’ll have people practically telling you to get a red hot poker up the ass if you dare to still like it when it’s not the most virtuous bastion of media to every exist.

it's because to these people harassment isn't a serious issue. that's why you already have people denying that there's a connection between being a harasser and the probability that you're an asshole in general, as if this person wasn't overcompensating their compulsive lying about everything by posing as an online activist in the business of bullying. not to mention the fact they don't care that this person used their supposed jewish identity to harass people who were trying to mainly fact check antisemitic conspiracy theories, but that's another can of worms that they haven't even begun to unpack - and chances are they probably did this to many other people we don't know about

yep to them everyone in the world is either perfect and infallible or so awful they deserve to die. so harassment is only an issue when it happens to people in the first group. you can send as much abuse to people in the second group as you like and get cheered on for it bc it can’t be harassment, they’ve been designated as Bad, so therefore it’s simply good and virtuous to send them death threats and encourage others to do the same
