I at last finished reading Sunrise on the Reaping and now I feel the urge to write a Perpollo fanfic about the hunger games where the Olympian gods has to watch their kids fight each other in the arena and Percy is kept in metaphorical shackles as the patron god of demigods and each year essentially has to choose which demigod to help and who he has to let die.

Zeus uses the games to keep demigods in check and rigs the reaping so demigods that could pose potential threats are thrown into the games or are broken down from watching a beloved sibling die in the games. Not all tributes are demigods, it’s an open secret that Zeus meddles in the reaping and a lot of mortal children are reaped too to keep up appearances of random chance, but the victors are exclusively first generation demigods. Some of them are actually Percy’s own demigod kids.

While Katniss and Peeta has to fight the regime after their hunger games, Percy and Apollo has to fight a civil war on Olympus.

I’m gonna write it, you can’t stop me, I’m probably gonna write the gods’ pov of all five HG books, but I’m not sure if I should start with the original trilogy or Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes🤔

Murderbot is such a neurodivergent power fantasy. It can

- store unlimited media and watch it privately

- turn down sensory organs that are bothering it

- look at stuff without its eyes

- program "human-like behavior"

- super duper kill the shit out of anyone that fucks with it

it is always interesting to see the parallels between Fiyero and Elphaba, and how they contrast to Glinda.

Fiyeraba parallels (3/?) ━ The poppy = being asleep & being asleep = ignoring the truth

Throughout the movie, and especially in the scenes with Elphaba and Fiyero, the theme of sleep is being tied to the poppies. The poppies are used in the spell cast by Elphaba to put the others to sleep, but Fiyero, who claims earlier that he is either "running amuck" or "sometimes is asleep" remains awake. He questions why this is too, and Elphaba doesn't really know the answer to that either. However with the theme of sleep and the poppies tied together later with finding out the truth (about the Wizard, and what's happening to the Animals) it is clear that the reason why Fiyero did not fall asleep was because similar to Elphaba, once he realized the problem, he couldn't ignore it anymore. "He started thinking." Similarly, Elphaba is so close to getting what she wanted, but she "can't want it anymore" because she woke up to the fact that it's all a lie, and she needs to take action. At this point, Elphaba and Fiyero already rescued the lion cub together, and while Elphaba put the students to sleep there, it was Fiyero who knew how to act, despite Elphaba calling out "what are you doing" he just jumped into action, trusting his instincts without hesitation, but he needed Elphaba to almost literally open his eyes. But Elphaba learned to trust her instincts from Fiyero. And she uses what she's learned from him to invite Glinda along as well, hoping Glinda will join her, just like she promised. Glinda however breaks her promise, despite giving her word that "she would have helped" Elphaba with the lion cub if she was asked. Glinda feels that she has to stay behind. As for Fiyero and Elphaba, netiher of them can go back to sleep anymore and aside from the fact that this parallels and complements their arcs very nicely, it also sets them on their somewhat doomed conclusions for the second half of the story.

There's something kinda weirdly sweet about how movie Fiyero, after like 5 seconds of shock at Elphaba being green is like, "oh, well she's pretty," and then continues to try and seduce her.

Like my boy might still be a player at this stage but he's no racist.

Thinking about the Holmes story where a blind girl goes to him and is like "My fiancé is missing and he kept telling me the week leading up to his disappearance that he would always love me and come back for me,were anything to happen so I think he knew he was in trouble and I love him so much and I'm going to wait for him but I'd like to find him faster,ya know?" And Holmes figures out that it was this girl's parents to scam her out of money she was owed from an estate which she gave to them because she was still living at home,which she wouldn't be if she ever married,so her step father PRETENDED TO DATE HER for MONTHS to keep her from ever getting engaged to a real person and when Holmes finds out he confronts this man and this man is like "Well,you caught me! But it wasn't illegal:) so:)" and Holmes is like "No,but it was sickening and cruel and if she had a brother or good male friend he should post you up and whip you but she doesn't." And the man is like "No,she doesn't." And does the Victorian version of sticking his tongue out and Holmes is like "Well,I guess I'll do then!" And HE PULLS OUT HIS HUNTING WHIP.

Also it compares to Glinda's entrance. She was dramatic as well, floating down from the sky, but she was at a remove, speaking down from a platform. Singing and playing to the crowd.

And when she arrived at Shiz, she was perched into of her luggage, and waving and singing for attention.
