is this ship popular because it’s legitimately compelling or is it popular because it’s the easiest to decontextualize and write college roommate AUs about?

Dragon!Price considering all of the 141 his hoard, even the human in their group. The 141 is Soap's pack, Gaz's flock, Ghost's coven. All of them have their own respective instincts and urges related to how they treat pack mates, depending on what they're a hybrid of. Because of this, the 141 is placed in their own house on base.
It's good for everyone, Gaz and Soap have plenty of room for their nest, Price feels like he can have a more secure room for his horde. There's even a roost on the balcony that Gaz can perch on. It's perfect. Except for the one human of their group. You joined the 141 after they initially got together, before they got the housing unit, and just when the pack relationship started budding. It took a bit, but once they adjusted to a new person, they got attacked quick. A while after you joined the team, the rest of the 141 started officially becoming pack mates. It took over a month longer to get you in the pack, because as a human, it was harder to pick up on the courting and cues. You would take a bullet for any of them with no hesitation, you have taken bullets for them. But fuck, if Soap cuddles suffocates you under him while sleeping one more time, he's gonna be sleeping on the couch. Your closet is constantly rummaged through, then the missing shirts and hoodies end up "mysteriously" with someone else a week later. Everyone denies fault, but you can see Soap's tail dropped guiltily. As a human, they also treat you a bit different. Not condensing or coddling, but defiantly gentler. You're smaller, hybrids averaging 6'5-7 feet tall. What could be a playful bite from Soap to Ghost, could easily snap your arm. Price is also always concerned on if you eat enough.
It's overwhelming at times, but it's on those calm afternoons when everyone is cuddled together watching movies on the couch, when everything is called, that you remember just why you love them all so much.

This but I'm also thinking about Pure!Soul having like iron armor. Like full Joan of Arch shit. Protects them from spirits. Imagine S4 E2 and they're in Bobby's house with a thurible and salt dagger
I love Castiel, he's my favorite depiction of an angel in media. He's constantly surrounded by sinful dudes like the Winchesters, imagine him meeting a pure soul who's also a hunter. Maybe more of a protector, like trying to prevent supernatural creatures from doing harm, giving out anti-possession jewelry, etc..
Not necessary a nun, but relying heavily on really old-style biblical stuff. Just for personal reasons, maybe it makes them better at dealing with the supernatural. Castiel's drawn to them, whenever they're around he frets about their purity (not necessarily virginity). I'm just giggling and kicking my feet thinking about him being protective, helping get Dean off their back about stuff that they decided they don't do because of their devotion. Maybe they can even hear his true voice.

Continuing my thoughts on this post. Wondering how different bots might probe the topic of human anatomy. For academic or debauched reasons.
Rewind I think would have the easiest time when it comes to getting videos or pictures, or just asking questions in general. It's literally his job to record information! Yes! Of course he needs a video of the human liaison doing a 360 wearing all but nothing, he's recording it for his archival database, obviously.
I'd say his intentions are mostly academic, but sometimes he ends up looking back at the footage and feeling a bit...flustered. Chromedome helps with that.
Brainstorm and Whirl are in similar spots, both unhinged, and the liaison is used to their nonsensical shit by now. And the two bots use it to put the liaison in sticky situations, getting photos of said situation, and maybe even selling copies of the photos to other bots.
Some bots have a healthy curiosity, namely Cyclonus, Tailgate, Rung, and Nautica. Won't go out of their way to get the liaison to do something, but certainly won't look away. Swerve gets flustered every time anything related to human anatomy is happening, and has to walk away.
Still, despite all the varying degrees of interest about seeing the liaison's body, no one actually sees them nude. Except Ratchet. He's their doctor! He helps them when they're sick, has a scan of their body stored away in the medbay files. Any personal interest is set aside when it comes to practicing medicine, he's only thinking medical (Drift has given Ratchet plenty of practice for that skill). Actually, Ratchet used to seeing humans, probably one of the best adjusted out of the crew, outside of Magnus and Drift. The thought never even occurs to the old doctor until he overhears Rodimus' drunk and lustful ramblings one night.
Of course, all of this nonsense stays "bellow deck". If UltraMagnus or Megatron find out, it'll cause a stink. Secretly though, each of them have had their own thoughts about the liaison. Megatron has a very small, sick fascination with the idea of the liaison being so near, so nice to him. Actually being around an organic, a human nonetheless. Actually carrying them, listening to them, living in the same ship. He sees humans in a new light and it makes him feel.. warm. He doesn't explore the feeling. Magnus actauly doesn't think about the liaison as anything but a liaison until it's discovered that he's Minimus. Until his true, tiny form is revealed. Relative to the other bots, he's not much bigger than a human. In his true form, under all the armor, he could interact with the liaison relatively easily. A hug would definitely be doable, making eye contact would be the easiest the liaison's had it since they boarded the ship. And sometimes, when he's in his habsuite, he thinks about that. Simple affections, things he knows the human can't do with the other bots unless mass-displacement is in play. Things he hasn't done with other bots in a long, long time.

Imagine teaching the bots on the lost light about human biology. Like, lots of them probably haven't had close encounters with humans before, some bots may have never really seen anything without a shell or armor-plating before. Showing them how your forearm bones rotate, or the articulation of your feet since cybertronians don't really have that.
Being in Swerve's bar, and while on the counter talking to a few bots, you pull up your shirt to point to different areas of your torso (organs, ribs, how your stomach gets bigger when you eat a lot). You don't see the harm in it. They're Cybertronian after all, it's not like they'll get excited about seeing some fleshy human's chest, right?
...right?

Sometimes I wonder just how much the matrix changes you. Orion Pax is gone once he gets the matrix of leadership, and is replaced by Optimus. He retains a lot of his memory, but he does change. He always does, every one knows he changes, but does Optimus?
Traits he doesn't even know he's missing, memories he can't even know he's lost. You think that fuels some of Megatron's animosity to Optimus. While Megatron changes when becoming the Deception's leader, he's still the same bot, the same mind. Yet he will never see Orion his friend, someone he used to talk to, someone he used to love again, despite him always being a battlefield away.

Hi Hi!!
Welcome to my nest! This is a multi-fandom blog, a dumping ground for my thoughts and ideas. Most of this is just self-indulgent silliness, and rambles. This is mostly an x reader blog.
Generally, the fandoms I post are: Transformers, StarWars, COD, X-men, Batman, BG3, marvel, and some mainstream anime's or games.
I will make NSFW content, but this blog isn't exclusively MDNI. I'm an adult, but I won't post anything too explicit.
