I told my mom how old I was and she thought I was ten years younger, lmao. Everything is heartbreaking, right? But she’s still pushing herself along in a wheelchair all day and it’s specifically heartbreaking to tell her when she asks, no I can’t take you with us unplanned, you’re in a diaper and hospital gown, dependent on a wheelchair that I can’t fit into my car, and your dementia caused a long string of events that lead to the fact that you are currently chained to this place.

God, if she isn’t trying her best, though. She honestly isn’t as weak as she was when she first got into acute care but she’s just not independent anymore, and hasn’t been since she broke her hip in January.

i get it’s not nearly as fantastical as her other work since it’s grounded entirely in reality but maison ikkoku is a really fun series. it’s just super enjoyable and the will they won’t they aspect really avoids being annoying or feeling pointless. the girl genuinely has reason not to be jumping into serious relationships and they’re both allowed to be adults that date around. of course rumiko takahashi just writes in a really fun way when it comes to romcom too. Highly suggest for romance or 80s anime fans

Botw is such an interesting take on post apocalypse, because it isn't really dystopian. It is a wound healed over, a world that has forgotten the end of itself, and in that, has begun anew. Grandparents whisper their nightmares into the wind, and smile at their kin. The garrisons that remain are sodden ashes in the dirt, a burial ground, and the most fertile soil for miles. You do not know the past that your body remembers. You do not know the voices that linger, and yet you follow. You follow, because the world has forgotten you, and you have nothing that is yours to remember.
