Too bad Cody's digital copy is very much not a pile of ash and is growing in storage size by the minute. He is quite proud of his sectioned and neatly labled folders, the color coding really gives it that extra little touch.

underrated aspect of rexwalker that has been filling my brain completely lately: they're clearly prep nerd 4 goth nerd, as per the classic alignment chart. which means that I am completely confident that rex and anakin spent a significant proportion of their canonical time together absolutely geeking out about the most random shit.

the battle happened 1200 years ago. now it's literally just a field with some crappy concrete buildings at one end. it's a field.

...that was what fives said when rex dragged him out there with them. rex and anakin still almost cried about it.

anyway I think it would be very on brand for anakin to have initially won rex's respect (and romantic interest) by sharing all his jedi access codes so rex could borrow from the military history section of the jedi archives.

the first time rex got access they were on leave for three days and cody legitimately thought he was dead.

“I was hanging out late at the pit,” Strip starts, eyes on the drink in his hands, “the ‘bird didn’t feel quite right after that one turn at the end, wanted them to have a look at it and ended up helping fix the minor issue. After that we went around the trailers and I heard arguing, one-sided arguing at that, from further down. Turns out it was coming from the Rust-eze trailer.” He stops, wanting to say more but reconsiders at the last moment to pivot to say something else, brown eyes meeting Lynda’s blue ones, “Tell me, if you were an agent for a rookie, who’s in their first season in the big leagues, what would you do after they’d gotten fourth?” 

“I’d be pleased, and proud, of course.” She answers without much thought. Who wouldn’t be, with a rookie placing so high? In his first professional season, to boot, and at his age, top 5 was better than most could ask for.

They’re not the best since I haven’t had a lot of time recently (and I admittedly spent a lil too much time on the ‘bonus’) but I loved drawing lil Crosshair and Tech :( <3

"Non-Dark Anakin O66 rewind", pllleeeaaassse!

Now this one is a goodie! This is a fic I’ve been working on that is currently 5K for he first chapter - tho I am rewriting it to involve some OC’s instead of force canon characters into roles not fit for them (it started as Alphas, changed to Nulls, and now I’ve finally decided to just ad OCs) - that follows through the march on the Jedi temple, with a twist.

We follow Ahsoka as she follows a member of the 501st as they attack the temple, eventually coming upon Anakin as he defends the other Jedi from the clones. So Ahsoka has to watch as Anakin slowly gets overwhelmed, until he is eventually shot down - but not killed, left to die like he is but a simple battledroid.

We get some bittersweet flashback scenes along the way, but eventually we come to Anakin where we meet these Mandalorians he had met and befriended at the start of the war, they were near when they heard about clones turning on their Jedi and they rushed ti Coruscant. They come to be with him as he dies, Ahsoka watching on as she watches form the future. Ahsoka watches her master day, flashes to his funeral, and then she has a talk with the force (I can’t give too much of the talk as it is still heavily being rewritten, but just know she has a talk with the force) and she - along with all the other clones of the 501st - wake up back in the war again, so many who are dead (like Tup, Hardcase, Fives and so many more) are alive again and they now have a second chance. Anakin, of course, doesn’t wake up with any memories of the fate quickly approaching him. So he is very confused in the morning when a lot of his men, and his Padawan, is very shaky and emotional when they look at him. He does not know several of his men just woke up from having helped killed him. He just wanted some caf why is Appo looking at him as if he’d killed Anakin’s entire family?

But those who came back are also determined and focused. They know what’s wrong, they know about the chips, they can do something, and they are more than ready to do what it takes to prevent the death of the Jedi - and more importantly Anakin’s death.

How did "Ani turned into a dragon" and what does " and "he wanna protect"?

Short answer? Abandon force temple and his men.

Longer answer? Anakin and a squad of 501st members are sent to scout ahead and find a temple (they do not know it has hidden force user, not Jedi or sith, origins that’s a surprise for later) and when they fail to call in after a day Cody sends out a squad to their last known position. The squad goes down and things get unnerving very quickly, and then they find a “dead” trooper. Said trooper is Tup, and he isn’t actually dead he was just knocked out by a falling rock, so he leads them back only vaguely being like “yeah something happened but dw no one is dead we just can’t really leave”.

“Something happened” turns out to be Anakin Skywalker turning into a dragon. And the reason they can’t leave is because, well, Skywalker can’t really fit through the exit anymore and the 501st troopers have been trying to find a way to get him out for the past day.

But now what is it that he wants to protect? Well if I can direct you over the the corner over there you will find Captain Rex processing General Skywalker’s latest surprise for him. Said surprise being the two eggs the dragon-Jedi is careful resting around.

So turns out it was ritual to prevent overly powerful force sensitives from becoming problems by basically cloning them and separating that into two and then killing the force user. But as no one is here to kill Anakin he has just become a dad. (Changed into dragons cuz of easier rituals and child care, since the kids are weaker than the parent and also wouldn’t be like them and not as “smart” and leas of a threat with the force) So yeah protective dragon dad Anakin :3

"Not so faded whispers" is so poetic and lovely. I'd like to hear more?

Not so faded whispers is one of my oldest AU’s, one that has grown progressively, well not necessarily darker, but more heartbreaking at the very least, as time has gone on.

The basic premise is this: Obi-Wan Kenobi and his 12 year old Padawan, Anakin Skywalker, are sent on a simple retrieval mission.

Obi-Wan Kenobi returns alone.

Time moves and Obi-Wan takes on a fiery togruta and then war comes knocking. War leads him far and away, to places he once knew and to that’s he has never seen before. And one day it leads him back where he came back alone from. He will not run from here like he did all those years ago, Anakin’s body may have been far beyond bringing home but his lightsaber can at least finally return home. So they get there, and so do the CIS, but then…then the shadows come alive. A beast of untamed shadows rises like a wraith, a blazing blue shard in their chest, a shard…of kyber. Obi-Wan does not get to think more about it before the wraith focuses in on him, tongue lolling out like a snake smelling the air, before it snaps around to their enemy. Whatever this thing is, it is at least an ally for this battle, the question is just if it will stay that way.

This wraith, of course, turns out to be Anakin. A lightsaber is a Jedi’s life, that is a phrase that is not meant to be literal, but when has the norm ever applied to Anakin? His father is the force, all bets are off when you are half force. So after all these years he has lived on through his ‘saber. After this he gets to come along, meeting the clones and Ahsoka, being a happy (or as happy as one can be during war) 12 year old.

Happy AU with an angsty start, right? Well let’s look back at the last line from above. Happy 12 year old, huh? Still 12, is he? But 7 years have passed, hasn’t it? Yet Anakin is still 12? Well welcome to the life of being eternally 12.

Anakin Skywalker died at 12 and he will be we grow beyond that. At least for now. You see I skipped over a little detail at the start: the accident that took Anakin’s life wasn’t meant for him. Obi-Wan was supposed to die. Palpatine was not as patient in this AU, wanting more from Anakin quicker, but he goes too quick and it costs him a future apprentice. But thanks to his presence the force is out of sorts, causing the perfect breeding ground for weird 12 year old force wraiths, and when Palpatine is killed his presence slowly fades. When Anakin turns 23, he celebrates the death of Darth Sidious as well as his 13 birthday. He has lost 10 years of everything, and he is a Jedi no more.

A bit of a more bittersweet story, but Anakin has quite a few brothers who are more than happy to discover normal life alongside him. Ignore the lingering wraith traits, that’s just how Anakin is.

Could you talk about: "Anakin becomes the Winter Soldier"?

Of course! So this AU is in basic what happens to Bucky Barns but with Anakin, so in this AU during a battle the Separatists set of explosives under the unstable ground their battling over causing several sinkholes all over. Not all of the 501st have managed to avoid it, and the worst of it effects those at the front, like Anakin and Rex, get caught. Anakin saves Rex from falling but in the end falls through and he is declared dead. The 501st, both fewer in number and down a general, get combined with the 212th as Obi-Wan takes over Ashoka’s training. They mourn and the war goes in.

And then a new Sith comes on the scene. A looming shadow that tears through their ranks like it is nothing. A brutal hunter who fears nothing not because he is cocky, but because it knows it has nothing to fear. A hunting hound let off it’s leash and sent to hunt to kill.

His name is Darth Vader. They just call him The Hound.

It is inevitable that Obi-Wan and his men encountered this beast sooner or later, though no one can predict the outcome of the clash.

The dance starts, the music comes to life, and the first moves are done, and so they are off for another battle. Like always Vader is off, headed for Kenobi like that is all there is, and they clash. Obi-Wan notes how his mask resembles a skull, Vader notices how this feels like a dance he has danced before (but he has never done the steps before, his Master never taught him this get he knows like he has always danced like this). Vader shows no mercy, not it Jedi or Clone, yet it hesitates at the clones in blue. It is the grief, he thinks, the grief that clings like a coat over them all, that is what brings him up short. (He knows these men, he knows he does, but how?)

And then Rex, arm steady and aim secure, gets a lucky shot not even the greatest Jedi could fully dodge (Anakin was always so excited to practice it with him, fascinated by the shot he could not properly dodge). Vader’s visor is hit on the side, and the sith curses. His helmets vision has been shot, the helmets advantage has been lost, so he removes it - anything useless is discarded as it has finished its use - and the dance stops.

For no longer does an enemy stand before them on the battlefield. No Vader is gone, replaced by a brother, a master, a Padawan, a general, a lover; replaced by Anakin Skywalker.

The steady arm trembles, aim faltering, as brown meets duller blue.

“Anakin?”

“Talking to the dead already, Captain?” A tilted head up, a malicious grin (soft smiles, warm eyes, head tilted down) on his face. “Are you so ready to meet death you great your whilst you still draw breath General?”

That is not Anakin.

Yet…yet it is. That is Anakin Skywalker, but he is not the same man they lost.

Rex just got himself a new mission.

And that, is a little peak into what the Winter Soldier AU has to entail

Okay, tell me about your fake Anidala WIP!

Okay! So the entire premise started with my thoughts of “Anakin and Padme keep in touch” combined with “Anakin is a holodrama/holoshow addict and also a pretty good actor” and combined that into like a year before Attack where they are watching this show that has a pretend relationship cuz one of them is in a high position and keeps getting flirted with/harassed so a friend comes in and saves the day. Padme, who is also in a high position and keeps getting flirted with/harassed, is like “dude we could do that”, and Anakin, who hasn’t been very happy with, who has become this sister like figure, getting harassed us like “u are so right” and so they concoct the most obvious relationship this side of the galaxy. So it is all faked and instead of dancing around feels the visit to Naboo is just them ironing out their “relationship” and also discussing droid custody “they can be our wedding gifts, but we just say the truth but the wedding gifts can be implied” “genius”

So yeah basically they fool the entire galaxy that they are in love because “lol wouldn’t it be funny?” Of course then the war happens but uh oh too late to back out now gotta keep this up during war! But what’s this? Here comes Captain Rex out of left field!

Yeah so Anakin sees one (1) cute captain and he’s gone, there there Anakin your obvious fake marriage will totally not cause any problems with this. It takes him about half a war to get his act together and admit maybe he isn’t already taken but he gets there

…after a drugged out confession in enemy territory, but hey! Whatever it takes!

And then when the war ends Anakin leaves the order stating that he can not keep up his oath when he’s so dedicated to his partner. Of course the Galaxy is like “oh thank god Anidala is finally coming clean!” But no as Anakin walks out and meets Padme instead of kissing or something just as romantic Rex sweeps in, picks up his General, and walks away like he totally didn’t sweeps everyone’s mind away. They then go for a date at a lower level ramen shop, letting the galaxy implode in disbelief around them (they are given a lot of nasty glares when the bets get collected, Cody is laughing in the background) ((also Anakin learns that bringing up how Rex feels about being a dad whilst he’s eating noddles isn’t the best idea, lesson learned!))
