i only use these 3 default brushes nowadays lol (pen, marker, and airbrush) i like setting pen opacity at 30 for sketching n clean sketch and 80 for coloring. usually the size is around 5-8??

its no problem! im happy you like my art <3 since you gave me such a sincere question i’ll try my best to give a sincere answer

i never had classes, videos, teachers or any of that actually--though i’m definitely not saying that they wouldn’t be useful, i’ve just never experienced them. i’ll just kind of describe personally how i self study.

stylistically? (specifically coloring) i study art from other people i really like and notice all the little details and what concepts they applied, applying them to my own art (over time this gets easier to do). also i try thinking about sort of the real life basis as to why it’d be drawn that way +etc if it was purely for artistic aesthetics.

my artstyle is a Frankenstein mash of all the art styles i like and want to replicate lol (also, its important to pull things from like a whole list of artists you like, as long as you don’t only pull off of one) they could be similar ofc but different people have different flaws (idk... best analogy to this is interbreeding vs not -> interbreeding brings forth inert flaws but if you take 2 separate, the advantages from both remain while the flaws can stay inert)

for anatomy (the actual sketching and lines i draw), my opinion, the best way to learn is studying real images, kind of understanding what makes it like that and all those grooves and placements and what not

the thing about learning anatomy is that, like when i first learned it, if you go straight off of other drawings (specifically anime/cartoons) you would learn its “placement” sort of, like exact distances or something for that exact angle, dynamic, w/e, but it’ll be harder to do extremely different angles

a similar idea to this is if you memorized the exact steps of a formula by specific examples, so you can crunch that kind of problem easily, but if you don’t understand the concepts behind that formula its hard to apply it in different situations

(this is also why learning off purely anime was a pitfall for me for a while, because even if my goal is drawing anime, figures, shapes, angles, etc come from the 3d shapes of real life translated into an anime style where you can then use discretion as to how you want it) -> so stylistically? yeah i was picking up a lot! anatomy...? i tried, but it was that much harder and frustrating to do

i’m not some sort of end goal though, what i’m at right now isn’t my end goal, i’m always just constantly applying what i described ^^^ in hopes of improving my art, because it’s easy to find people miles better than me, that’s what signals me that i can still improve and there’s still things to learn. when comparing myself to others i find its important for my own self criticisms to have more substance than “wow i suck”, so that way whatever it is i’m not satisfied with i can try editing

i hope there’s something in this word vomit that can help you. i’m no preacher trying to convert though, so in the end how you go about things is all up to you. good luck @omaewamoushindeirunani! :D
