THE VERDICT- 1982 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Frank has one last chance to do something right.

A lawyer who has succumbed to alcohol, is assigned the case of medical malpractice. He decides to take the case on trail, even though all parties are willing for an outside court settlement.

Paul Newman, Jack Warden, James Mason and Charlotte Rampling star.

First time watching this brilliant court room drama/thriller. Incredible lead performance from Paul Newman, played his role perfec and the entire supporting cast is impressive also. Amazing visuals and direction. Just an amazing film the story is fantastic and goes right near the top if not the very top of any of these lawyer movies. Eron Bronkovich be damned.

MILK AND SERIAL- 2024 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A gruesome secret gets exposed when two online influencers attempt to prank each other only for the situation to dramatically spiral out of control.

Found footage horror film that I actually found quite disturbing. Wasn't really feeling it initially but stuck with it and was really impressed with Curry Barkers creepy performance. Milk and Serial is all the more impressive when you consider it was made with only 800 dollars.

THE PLEDGE- 2001 ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Jerry Black, an experienced homicide detective, prepares to retire from the force permanently. However, the murder of a little girl spurs him to use his skills one last time and solve the case.

Mystery thriller starring Jack Nicholson.

I enjoyed Jacks performance and most of the films runtime but didn't really believe his spiral into madness towards the end of the film and felt the conclusion in general was very unsatisfying.

MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: THE FINAL RECKONING- 2025 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ethan Hunt and the IMF team race against time to find the Entity, a rogue artificial intelligence that can destroy mankind.

Too long for this old chunk of coal. But lots of classic mission impossible fun. The gang were working hard defeating AI or something. The Eskimo lady was such a scene stealer! Big jump scares from the pointing man on the silly sub. Rest in Peace to this franchise.

BALLERINA- 2025 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Taking place during the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, Eve Macarro begins her training in the assassin traditions of the Ruska Roma.

An interesting spinoff. Ana De Armas to me felt like she didn't really possess the aura required to do this but the film was very fun and some of the action scenes were phenomenal. The grenades and the flame thrower stuff was quality juice. Great to see my man Jong Wick getting involved also. Gabriel Byrne, always a pleasure. Would watch more of these things.

CLOWN IN A CORNFIELD- 2025 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Looking for a fresh start, Quinn and her father move to the quiet town of Kettle Springs. They soon learn the fractured community has fallen on hard times after losing a treasured factory to a fire. As the locals bicker amongst themselves and tensions boil over, a sinister, grinning clown emerges from the cornfields to cleanse the town of its burdens, one bloody victim at a time.

Fun new horror comedy which went in some unexpected directions. It was extremely easy to watch and had some very fun kills. A few moments popped me hard "this corn hurts" had me guffawing for no reason at all. This Kevin Durand guy is going places.

I did feel the film got significantly less interesting after the killer reveal and the movie had some dialogue or jokes fall flat but overall I didn't care much and had a great time watching this clownshow.

THE THING FROM ANOTHER WORLD- 1951 ⭐️⭐️⭐️

A group of scientists discover a spaceship at an Arctic research centre along with the pilot in a frozen state. Things go haywire when the pilot regains consciousness and spreads havoc.

Pretty fun old movie. Big fan of The Thing and never properly watched this before i don't think. Nice when you get a film this old and they're kind of talking normal. Felt like it ended abruptly though.

REMEMBER ME- 2010 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Set in New York City during the summer of 2001, during which Tyler, a rebellious young man, meets Ally through a twist of fate. Her spirit helps him heal after a family tragedy, though soon the circumstances that brought them together threaten to tear them apart.

An enjoyable romantic drama with some compelling characters and storybeats. I was enjoying this all the way through and then got hit with the most bizarre twist. I wasn't expecting a twist of any kind but Pattinson basicallt gets 9/11d and I don't have any idea why. This doesn't appear to be based on a real guy who this happens to, so it's just like, ok what if the main guy dies in 9/11 out of nowhere? Wouldn't that be interesting? Yes it would, im interested. I thought the twist was hilarious but just can't work out why it happened. Good movie anyway. Liked this.

THE BAXTER- 2005 ⭐️⭐️⭐️

The twists and turns of a young man's life during the two weeks before his wedding.

Michael Showalter and the rest of his wet hot American summer gang star. I'm rather fond of him and of them. This wasn't brilliant but a perfectly OK silly romcom which sometimes sneaks up on you with something brilliant. Often a line delivery from Justin Theroux who was great in this. Michelle Williams supremacy always. Excellent Ken Marino cameo, my favourite Marino.

BLACK BAG- 2025 ⭐️⭐️⭐️

When his beloved wife, Kathryn, is suspected of betraying the nation, intelligence agent George Woodhouse faces the ultimate test -- loyalty to his marriage or his country.

An interesting spy thriller. Remains very grounded these losers don't even have gadgets. This is both a strength and a weakness as it often didn't feel to me like the characters or story were that cool that I wouldn't have preferred if they were operating lasers or something. Enjoying the Pierce Brosnan Resurgence.

HAUNT- 2019 ⭐️⭐️⭐️

A group of friends discover a haunted house on Halloween and decide to explore it. However, things do not go as per plan as the night turns deadly.

This was actually quite good. Many inventive and scary setups, really enjoyed the killer reveal if you can call it that. Not the best actors but it didn't matter too much. Film was much stronger in the second half than the first.

KARATE KID: LEGENDS- 2025 ⭐️⭐️

After moving to New York City with his mother, kung fu prodigy Li Fong struggles to let go of the past as he tries to fit in with his new classmates. When a new friend needs his help, Li enters a karate competition -- but his skills alone aren't enough. With help from Mr. Han and Daniel LaRusso, he soon learns to merge two styles into one for the ultimate martial arts showdown

This was not good. Other than the Jaden Smith fiasco this was the worst karate kid film. Absolutely worse than part 3 and also worse than the Hilary Swank spinoff.

First of all, Daniel LaRusso is all over the marketing and doesn't appear other than flashbacks till over an hour into this thing. The first hour is spent with new guy Lee Fong, a kung-fu dork with no charisma whatsoever. He spends ages showing Pacey, a former boxing champion how to box. It's all boring as hell and lame as fuck. The portrayal of New York is so dumb who actually thinks it's like that.

Cobra Kai was so incredible it was always going to be compared to that and this was just Trash. The stupid cartoon villain, the big special move, it's all so played out.

Ralph Macchio looks absolutely incredible for 63 it's insane that's he's that old and looks so good. No disrespect to his old ass he's one of my favourites but this wasn't for me.

THE STORY OF US- 1999 ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ben and Katie, a married couple, go through difficult times and face problems. After fifteen years of marriage, they discover that they no longer love each other. Will they dissolve their marriage?

A very easy to watch romcom starring Bruce Willis and Michelle Pfeiffer. Good to see Bruce, he was one of the biggest Hollywood hunks running wild while i was coming up in this business and I love Michelle Pfeiffer, total hunk. The major star power carried this across the finish line, it was a little predictable and some of the writing was lack lustre but who cares? Look at these hunks.

MY LITTLE EYE- 2002 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Five young people apply to live in an isolated house together for six months and their every move is filmed by numerous cameras. The prize - 1 million. The rules; if one person leaves everyone loses.

Early 2000s horror/thriller goodness!

Kris Lemche absolutely rules, everytime I see him in something he hits a homer. Absolutely love the setting and atmosphere of this film it was awesome. The story and acting wasn't really that great but was totally fun. Bradley Cooper just appears out of nowhere and shags someone that was something.

I really don't know why i loved this so much it really wasn't that good at all and totally fell off a cliff in the last half hour but I had a complete blast watching this thing.

HAMLET 2- 2008 ⭐️⭐️

In this irreverent comedy, a failed actor-turned, high-school drama teacher rallies his Tucson, AZ students as he conceives and stages politically incorrect musical sequel to Shakespeare's Hamlet.

David Arquette, Elisabeth Shue and Catherine Keener all looking good. Steve Coogan not looking good. Big fan of silly Steve don't get me wrong, but his wonky american accent and silly goofs didn't have me laughing sadly. Not very good.

QUEEN OF THE RING- 2024 ⭐️⭐️⭐️

The story of Mildred Burke, the champion professional wrestler who pioneered the sport at a time when all-girl wrestling was banned in most of America.

I should have been all over this thing but sadly it was too long and too boring and in my opinion, directed by a flaccid bozo who doesn't have a clue about anything. Way too much in ring time? Wrestling was insanely boring back then, no dives, no Canadian destroyers it was all holds and slog.

What was great however was the cast. Absolutely unreal. Timeless Toni Storm and Deborah Ann Woll in the same film? Vintage car horn sounds. The main lady playing Mildred was jacked and impressive and think she did a good job but this wasn't great.

COLLATERAL- 2004 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It started like any other night...

After a long day, LA taxi driver Max is about to knock off when sharp-suited Vincent offers him $600 to make five stops. Sounds good until Vincent turns out to be a merciless hitman and each one of those stops involves a hit. As the night goes on, Max starts to wonder if he'll live to see the sunrise, as the pair are hunted by the police and the FBI.

Tom Cruise, Jamie Foxx, Jada Pinkett Smith and Mark Ruffalo star.

A very enjoyable LA based thriller directed by Michael Mann. Particularly enjoyable is Tom Cruise in a very rare villain role. Cruise steals the show as the cold blooded assassin "Big Vinny".
