Byler almost kiss scenes?

People say we´re delusional just bc “we haven’t gotten romantic byler scenes” when the story is actually secretly hinting that there´s smtg going on there.

It’s not that we lack of romantic moments, they´re there and u can see them clearly if u pay attention. For some other couples it has been pretty easy to tell if they are in love with eo bc we’ve gotten cliché moments like an almost kiss and get interrupted or long stares at eo

but what if… we already got NOT ONLY ONE scene like that of Will and Mike having an intimate moment, staring at each other so powerfully that it feels like an almost kiss. And just look at how they get snapped out of it when they get interrupted 😭, specially in the first clip of the video, they got scared as if they were doing smtg wrong

If will was a girl, people would not have doubts about the fact that they’re so in love and they would cheer on them to get together. It’s sad to think that way but it’s true tho 🥲

Just yesterday I thought to myself that Murray giving Mike and Will THE LOOK and then keeping it to himself would get 80% of the audience connecting a BUNCH OF DOTS IMMEDIATELY

This scene is so important to me, not only because it's super sweet, but because it really shows how Mike and Will's relationship is different from their other friends. Will has the tendency to dismiss apologies, even when he is in the right. An example of this is after the rain fight in s3. Lucas comes to Will to try and apologize for how he acted the other night, and Will shuts him down. Will tells Lucas that it's fine and that he's "over it," but we obviously know he's lying so he doesn't have to bring it up again.

This scene is almost the same as the one mentioned in s3, except for the fact that Mike doesn't accept Will's answer. The night before, Mike had just fought with Will about him ruining the whole day, and Will had retaliated by accusing Mike of never calling. Now, it's the next day, and Will has given up that argument when Mike tries to apologize.

Mike differs his response from Lucas' when he says, "you didn't deserve anything." Then he goes on to explain how he's been feeling ever since Will left. This entire scene really solidifies their relationship to me. It contrasts the friendship between Lucas and Will and establishes the fact that Mike feels differently towards Will than his other friends. AND it's the way that this is the same scene where "I didn't say it," "you didn't have to" happens. RIGHT AFTER MIKE AND EL'S ARGUMENT, WHERE "you never say it" IS THROWN OUT THERE. Mike can't tell his girlfriend of 2 years he loves her, but he can read Will like a book. That's pretty weird, huh...

I've never seen a parallel be so obvious and also doubted by milevens everywhere. This scene is THE byler moment to me. And it's also why I believe so strongly they are going to be canon in s5.

i dont know if ive just never seen anyone post about it but at least lucas and dustin if not all of the core four are definitely gonna be working at the radio station. both of them were at the station set constantly and i know lucas was wearing a radio sweater in a million photos and i cant find it but i know i saw a photo of dustin in one too.

i keep seeing milkvan shippers argue that mike cant show his love for eleven because of his parents less than romantic relationship, but i cant help but think how strange that is.

love isnt something you learn. mike shows love for all his friends, including el. its not like he grew up in a loveless household where no one cared about each other. its shown many times that mikes mother loves him and nancy very much and actively cares for all her children.

now, im not saying that platonic love and romantic love are the same thing. im just pointing out that mike isnt just someone whos never even heard the word love before.

you could also argue that el was never shown love in her childhood. if thats the case, then how can she love mike? she never had anyone who cared about her when she was in the lab, yet she knew in season 2+ that she loved mike.

nancy was another person used in the argument that the wheeler family cant show love. they use the example of her not being able to tell steve that she loves him to backup what they have to say about mike.

but its clearly shown that nancy loves jonathan!!!! like did they forget about that? even through their struggles she can still say that she loves him in s4. you can’t say the same for mike.

the reason mike can’t tell eleven that he loves her isnt because hes from some broken home. mike and els relationship is the only one that relies on the words “i love you.” most of the other relationships in st are based around actions and not words. ex: joyce saving hopper in russia, lucas sticking by maxs side while shes cursed and doing everything he can to save her, jonathan and nancy saving each other in the hospital

there are many more examples that dont include saving each other, but my point is that mike and els relationship is no longer portrayed in the same way as all the other canon ships are.

if i had a nickel for every time i watched something with a main character in high school who's torn between what society expects of him and what his heart is telling him

who's in a love triangle with a character he has a genuine connection with and who shares his passions

and a character who doesn't really understand him and has feelings for him that he can't return

and during summer break becomes too preoccupied with character B due to societal pressures

causing him to act unlike himself

and neglect character A
