We’ll still be checking the tags and updating AO3 and social media for a while.  I know I for one would still like to finish out the prompts and did not get to do so yet, so feel free to do the same!  It is never too late to unleash more jonpeter upon the world :3c

All Too Familiar

Characters: Jonathan Sims/Peter Lukas, Elias Bouchard

Rating: Teen, SFW

Summary: In which Elias and Peter make a bet and Jonathan Sims is courted by both the Eye and the Lonely. 

“Archivist giving you trouble?”

Elias’s fingers are at his temple, his eyes closed in what could be called contemplation but is more likely irritation. Peter’s not fond of the woman, quite the opposite, but her ability to rile the man up is unparalleled. He can respect that.

“Should’ve offed her long ago, I say. Getting on in years, isn’t she?”

“And aging me right along with her,” Elias grouses, letting out a much aggrieved sigh. “It’ll be a while yet, but I do have plans for her.”

“And someone else, I see.” Peter’s eyes scan over the files on his desk- personnel files, each with an attached photo. He snatches one from the stack before Elias can protest and makes a show of squinting at the page. “Jonathan Sims. Bit young for you.”

The photo shows a young man barely out of college and desperate to be taken seriously, judging by his haircut and ill-fitting blazer. The flash must have caught him by surprise- he looks disgruntled and confused, eyes squinting ahead. It would almost be endearing to anyone who wasn’t Peter. “Well, he’s more to your tastes than Gertrude ever was. Best of luck.”

“Enough!” Elias hisses as he grabs the folder from his hands with surprising intensity, those cold, strange eyes narrowed in contempt. His gaze lingers on the file for a moment, staring down at the attached photo as if it reveals something Peter can’t see. Oh, this is a serious contender. Peter wonders what makes him so special. It’s an idle, curious thought; Elias rarely displays such cageyness, preferring instead to keep his cards close to his chest with a knowing smirk. It’s insufferable.

Day 7 of JonPeter Week - Alternate MAG 159 ending Jon enters the Lonely to find Martin, but only finds Peter there

A “Sequel” to my other MartinElias fic, which can be found here The mist parted before Jon, and as he stepped into the Lonely, it swelled behind him, blocking the view of Elias and the Panopticon. He called for Martin desperately, but no matter how loud he shouted, the other never answered. 

He felt his voice be stolen by the frozen fog, his calls getting quieter and quieter. Another voice rang out in the fog. Lukas, spitting insults and cruelties and temptations. 

Jon shrugged the other man off but when Lukas’s voice returned it sounded panicked and angry. 

“Where is he? What have you done with him Archivist” Lukas said furiously. Jon furrowed his brow, what the hell was Lukas on about now?

Day 6 of JonPeter Week - Betrayal

Jon had fought back but it hadn’t mattered, he healed too fast now Peter finds the Injured Archivist and in inconvenienced as he experiences an emotion

Jon stifled a sob into his arm, teeth buried in the layers of fabric. Blood oozed from the wounds around his eyes as he heard Basira sigh in frustration and walk away.

Blinding yourself ripped you away from the Eye, but with how bound Jon was to the Beholding, he would have to do that to himself willingly. He had struggled as she had pinned him down, had carved and slashed at his ever healing eyes. 

All for nothing.

Peter : What do we need a mattress for?

Elias : What do you mean what do we need a mattress for? Why in the hell do you think we just spent all that money on a boat? The whole purpose of buying the boat in the first place was to get Jon nice and tipsy topside so we can take him to a nice comfortable place below deck and, you know, he can't refuse, because of the implication.

Peter : Oh, uh... okay. You had me going there for the first part, the second half kinda threw me.

Elias : Well dude, dude, think about it: he's out in the middle of nowhere with some dude he barely knows. You know, he looks around and what does he see? Nothin' but open ocean. "Ahh, there's nowhere for me to run. What am I gonna do, say 'no'?"

Peter : Okay. That... that seems really dark.

Elias : Nah, no it's not dark. You're misunderstanding me, bro.

Peter : I'm-I think I am.

Elias : Yeah, you are, because if Jon said "no" then the answer obviously is "no"...

Peter : No, right.

Elias : But the thing is Jon's not gonna say "no", he would never say "no" because of the implication.

Peter : ...Now you've said that word "implication" a couple of times. Wha-what implication?

Elias : The implication that things might go wrong for him if he refuses to sleep with me. Now, not that things are gonna go wrong for him but he's thinkin' that they will.

Peter: But it sounds like he doesn't wanna have sex with you...

Elias : Why aren't you understanding this? he doesn't know if he wants to have sex with me. That's not the issue...

Peter: Are you gonna hurt Jon?

Elias : I'm not gonna hurt Jon! Why would I ever hurt Jon? I feel like you're not getting this at all!

Peter : I'm not getting it.

Elias: Goddamn

Marriage of Convenience + 100 + jonpeter?

(100 is 'accidentally saving the day'!)

this BEGS to be a s4 canon divergence AU where peter begins to grow concerned about martin's path to joining the lonely (and thus winning his bet with elias) getting obstructed by jon, who keeps finding martin and trying to convince him to stop isolating himself and stop working for peter. so peter approaches jon and makes a proposition: jon marries him, and in return peter releases martin

jon accepts. and so peter reaps the benefits of a) getting an additional leg up on elias by staking claim on his archivist and b) stoking a jealousy within martin that only serves to drive him closer to the lonely, despite having no active interactions with martin anymore. and maybe he likes the way that even when jon grows close to martin, he is still ultimately bound to him. and maybe jon likes the way that peter treats him, with a kind of affection that isn't constant and cloying and makes jon's curiosity sharp and hungry as he wonders what it would be like to have more.

jon never chases martin into the lonely, though martin grows closer to it every day. elias never sends the statement of hazel rutter, and his plan is never seen to completion. and, in the end, peter wins his bet.

and thus, the apocalypse is averted before it ever had the chance to begin.

I wrote a little something for an AU I and a few others were talking about today. Jon/Peter/Martin a/b/o verse. Where Peter bonds with both off them to win his bet with Elias basically. (It's also fairly fluffy, lol)

Question is, does this count for JonPeter week? XD

It's late, and the sea outside is calm, if foggy. Peter is thankful for this, for this quiet that only the sea can grant. 

His omegas sleep beside him. Jon is the closest, his belly big on his frame. He looks so peaceful, pressed between Peter and Martin, breath slow and dreams calm for once. He has one hand tangled with Peter's, something that makes Peter's insides quiver with something he can't quite put a name to. Martin is on Jon's other side, tucked around Jon, face buried in Jon's neck. His growing belly shows less, but it's still striking too, knowing that this pair carry Peter's children. 

There's this feeling in his belly, curled around his heart. It's soft, and Peter has only recently been able to put a name to it without his heart stuttering in a strange fear. Love. He loves them. 

It's been strange, watching them grow to trust him. Ironically, it had been simpler with Jon, especially after the claiming, when he knew that Peter wasn't going to keep Martin away from him anymore. Martin has been the more cautious of the two, still bound to Peter, but holding back on the affection he gives his alpha. Only recently has he begun to thaw, giving kisses and passing touches with a new ease.

If Peter is being honest with himself, this is a relief. The cold had been funny at first...until it wasn't. Until it start to hurt. Thus, for the first time in his life, Peter had actually tried to win someone's trust. Their trust. 

He's been taking care of them, keeping them hidden from the prying eyes of Elias. Keeping them fed and clothed and providing for them like a good alpha should. That's been helping, mostly.

He's surprised he has those instincts, honestly, how easily they come with these two, even if there is a certain amount of selfishness to them. 

Peter supposes though, that it helps that they're both Lonely too, or shifting in that direction. Their time apart from everyone else, whether it be Jon's subtle banishment from the archives to Martin's active leaving, has left them open to Peter's god. They focus on each other-- helplessly devoted, loving and so soft-- and now on Peter and their unborn children has left them cut off from the world and happier for it. 

Perhaps that's why their presence isn't an ache Peter must deal with, just like everyone else's is. They feel like him, belong to him. And Peter, for all his childhood promises to himself about never taking a bonded partner, doesn't regret a moment. Doesn't regret the way he stole them, encouraged them to bond with him and each other. Not when their future is ahead, a promise lurking on the tides.

Day 5 of JonPeter Week - Refuge

Jon finds refuge in the empty embrace of Peter Lukas Read on AO3 here

Jon felt cold, not just the natural surrounding cold that came from the Archives themselves, but a deep, emotional cold. He was alone in the Archives for once, Melanie was… somewhere? while Basira had dragged Daisy to physical therapy. He pressed his palms into his eyes, clenching his teeth in an effort not to let out a sound of frustration. He felt his growing inhumanity like a spreading parasite within his blood and he knew the others were watching him, waiting for him to fail, waiting for him to become like all those other monsters. 

His feet moved without him really thinking about it, dragging him to the one place he used to feel safe.

He didn’t even realise where he was until he had curled up in a chair opposite an old wooden desk that had sat in this office since Jonah Magnus had built the Institute 200 years ago.

He was in Elias’ office.

If asked, Peter Lukas would say that he wasn’t lonely, and it would be true. He spent six months of the year—more if he could help it—sailing the white-crested waves of the ocean, away from the sights and sounds of land, the bustle of cities and the chatter of people that grated on his ears like sandpaper. He kept as small a crew as he could manage when he left shore, never more than ten or so pairs of hands to handle the cargo he would carry from port to port. Sometimes, though, he would sail alone, packing enough supplies for several months on his small fishing boat and leaving behind a life that, lonesome as it was, remained as sticky and cloying as mud upon the soles of his boots.

This was one of those times. Three and a half weeks ago, Peter had packed enough supplies for four months, set sail from port, and breathed in the salt of the sea with a relief that was as palpable upon his tongue as the taste of brine. He didn’t particularly enjoy fishing, really, though it was as good a story as any to placate the dockworkers and to keep conversation to a minimum. Still, he was not immune to boredom, and so he often would cast a net over the side of his ship and inspect its contents for anything that might spark his interest (or, on occasion, make a sum of money). More often, though, he simply released the mass of wriggling fish back into the sea and settled for watching the sun dip below the horizon, with only the gentle rocking of the boat to keep him company.

Two and a half weeks ago, Peter had pulled the net over the side of his fishing boat, straining at the weight of it, and found a pair of sharp brown eyes staring back at him.

Chapter 3:

He’s timid around his monster now. He tries not to be, but he always ends up crouched behind a rock, watching carefully. He just can’t stop reliving the last time he got close enough for Peter to touch. It’s been giving him weird dreams. He’s not sure what to do about them, because he likes the dreams, and he liked what they did together, but that’s kind of the problem. He’s not sure what he’d do if Peter didn’t want him again. He’s not sure if he could survive being alone like that, driving Peter away like that.

Day 4 of JonPeter Week 2021 - Feeding Peter thinks his Archivist needs something to eat and has found a delightful way of doing so

Read on AO3 here Peter leant against the door frame of the Archivist’s office, watching as the other man hunched over his desk. The everpresent tape recorder whirred in the background as Jon read the statement in front of him, unaware of his curious partner in the doorway. Peter had been lured down into the Archive with the realisation that he was reading a statement from one of his crew, well, ex-crew, they hadn’t survived the next voyage unfortunately. He wrapped his arms around the Archivist, smirking as he jumped in panic before realising who it was and rolling his eyes, never stopping with his recitation of the statement. Jon leaned back into Peter’s arms, relaxing slightly and ignoring Peter’s roaming hands. 

Peter ran his cold hands down his Archivist’s sides, trying to see if he could break the other man away from his statement by the sheer power of being annoying. According to Elias he was the most annoying man alive so Peter thought he might have a chance. He certainly got Jon to react, twisting his body away when Peter found particularly sensitive areas, but his eyes stayed locked onto the paper. Peter squeezed, frowning at how easily he could feel the Archivist’s ribs. Looking around the small room, he couldn’t see any signs of the other man having eaten that day and, despite his best efforts, it didn’t look like he would be getting up from his desk any time soon. Peter gave his Archivist another quick squeeze before vanishing from the Archives, leaving the other man a little relieved but mostly confused. 

Jon hadn’t quite finished the statement by the time Peter came back, only noticing the other man’s return by the swift change in temperature of his office. As he finished up his statement notes, Jon was spun around and kissed by his impatient partner. He opened his mouth to ask what Peter had been up to and found a small square of cheap sandwich popped in instead, no doubt acquired from the institute canteen. Jon chewed irritably, opening his mouth again to complain when he was distracted by another kiss. 

Peter was proud of himself, this was a remarkably effective strategy for getting his Archivist to eat. 

By the time the sandwich was gone, Jon had stopped trying to complain, letting his favourite monster alternate between kissing and feeding him. Jon grumbled up at Peter as the larger man finished up with a deep kiss. 

“Better?”

Jon just grumbled in vague agreement before pulling Peter back down for another kiss.

Peter could never serve their god, it had been decided.  He was too jovial, liked the sound of his own voice too much, and horribly enough had hobbies and interests, like his silly little love of the sea.  Hobbies were a distraction that pulled one out of oneself, engaging a person with the outside world.  It would never do to endear him to the One Alone.

So they gave him to James Wright.
