Tokyo Spy Mission 1970: Million Dollar View of the West (1) The Deviation
Tumblr media
An informal trade via China was disclosed in Soviet Union, The accued Belenkova got fired from MiG23 test pilot mission. KGB investigates corruption of Soviet Armed Forces.
The previous story -
- Afternoon of May 24 1970, Lubyanka in Moscow, Soviet Union
The day was a nightmare for the KGB.
Everyone living “next-door to the Children’s World” felt as if they’re fooled by foreign fraud.
Tumblr media
Some shipments with electronics such as IC of their smuggling from Japan were informally transported to a Chinese port in Guangdong province. This means that Soviets lost some espionage assets by foreign trade.
“Comrades in the Soviet Army are entirely dismissive of this corruption.”
Stated by the lady in golden hair on the chair of this table in the council room.
“As we know our latest fighter plane MiG-23 has some improved variants such as type MLD in development. Since the plane is equipped with the latest chipset, some of the experimental parts are imported from the capitalist West…”
The improved variant MiG-23MLD certainly equipped with improved avionics. The radar was replaced with the brand new N-008 (Sapphire-23MLA-II) radar.
And she added with a wink and a smile.
“Of course it's illegal to trade those there.”
She pointed somewhere at a map on the wall behind her chair.
“Map of Capitalist world. An area named Akihabara in Japan is the best market for us near the American air base. Our First Main Directorate successfully acquired the blueprint and electronics of the F4 Phantom II fighter plane.”
Her finger on Tokyo moved to Vladivostok.
“The imported shipments moved to Fokino and Artyom, in the outskirts of Vladivostok. We expected everything went well to transfer the shipments here. Moscow.”
And she finally knocked the table several times.
“Comrade Afanasyeva, please explain the problem as our Ministry of Foreign Affairs pointed out.”
Then the lady in black hair and suit standed up to report.
“Da, for the victory of Lenin. As Comrade Kutuzova stated, our project faced a problem in this transfer from Tokyo. Some part of the shipment was stolen by the transport company, and the thief moved to Guangzhou, a unique trade port in China. KGB reported to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs when I was a diplomat in Guangzhou.”
Then Kutuzova questioned.
“After we reported to MoF, what did you do?” “Immediately visited the Guangzhou Port and found there some containers of Sovcomflot, our State shipping company…”
Kutuzova showed council members a document and stated:
“Here, we investigated every project member’s bank account of Gosbank. Lieutenant Belenkova received rubles from the People's Liberation Army of China.”
Afanasyeva additionally said that she moved to Tokyo and interviewed Comrade Durova, a Belenkova’s colleague.
The members are convinced of the Armed Forces’ corruption with foreign power.
- Artyom Uglovoye air base near Vladivostok, Soviet Union
The morning came for Belenkova again.
Today’s an interception drill day for her squadron so she woke up wearing a pilot suit.
Belenkova felt herself caught in a cage with surveillance.
It's a miracle she’s still living in a dormitory with a good bed and even a corded telephone on desk to call colleagues… because the Armed Forces denied her “crime” and saved her after firing her from the MiG-23MLD test pilot project.
She was there to conceal her informal trade with China and deceive the KGB and other law enforcements inspecting Soviet Armed Forces.
When she finished eating a canned beef stew called “tushonka” the phone rang aloud.
She took the phone.
“Hello this is Valentina listening.”
The voice from the phone sounds frustrated.
“This is Durova. I’ll advise you to run away, KGB’s going to arre…”
Her perception suddenly got faint and it was even difficult to hear the voice.
She rushed to her desk with the corded phone on and grabbed a pile of papers titled “PASSPORT”, other identification cards and a flight map.
“Thanks, ngg… Nadia. It’s time to go…”
With a severe headache, she took a flight helmet and jumped out of the room to leave the dormitory.
After a while, a shadow passed by the door and it whispered.
It said: “Смерть шпионам (Death to Spies) …”
That’s fortunate for her to eat the canned beef stew just before the drill began.
Speakers sounded to announce the beginning of the drill.
“This is a drill! An enemy airplane entered our airspace, intercept! This is a drill!”
Belenkova jumped into the cockpit of a MiG-25 fighter.
Including her plane, MiG-25 fighters are set to take off and lined up on the runway.
She waited for the greenlight and had medicines to ease her sickness.
“Davai, go ahead!”
The transceiver sounded just after a while.
All MiG-25s are allowed to take off.
But she’s never interested in “the enemy airplane” at all.
The MiG-25s made a delta formation and Belenkova’s plane was located on the side wing.
Suddenly her MiG-25 was covered by smoke and she turned the control stick down.
“Lieutenant Belenkova requested to leave due to mechanical troubles…”
And she turned on her MiG-25’s afterburner to leave Soviet airspace.

London Spy Mission 1982
E1: The Independence
Tumblr media
"G sharp, F sharp, E and B..."
-Strand in the City of Westminster, 2 April 1982
"The Ol' Blighty shines on the 7 Seas. Our company's been serving tea everywhere for centuries, on the Strand, at the Victoria Park in HK, and in Boston of course. In the way our Empire, Britannia rules the waves… That's why our Mary's is called the Teatime Empire..."
Then the melody of Westminster Quarters' heard every corner of Strand, the folk clapping their hands at the conference room of Tea House, that's named after an owner of this building as a company, "Mary's Tea."
The presenter's name is Viscountess Mary Dixon managing a tea company, as said "shining on the 7 Seas," and her reputation is ambiguous; one says she's a typical in Planter class, and another says the most business-minded in England is she.
Tumblr media
"Now that Big Ben answered in beautiful sounds. We sincerely hope that the Islands always belong to Britain, so all ships working for our Company may cooperate with the Royal Navy in order to secure our supply chain and protect the national interest!"
In the audience, a lady from New World heard that spree, and she seemed bored so left the room after a while.
She went down the spiral stairs to the ground floor, and opened the entrance, she took out her mobile phone.
“I'm Tina speakinh to Engel…”
In her Ukrainian accent, /g/ is converted to /h/.
The Engel answered,
“Could you arrest Viscountess Dixon, then?”
“Nope, though she's one of dangerous belligerents to break ranks in Western World by intrihuinh this Islands dispute but no clues found to betray us.”
“So what, to side with the Soviets for example?”
Tina shut up for seconds.
“Don't tease me, your excellency!”
The Engel sighed and chose her words.
“Come back to our safe house and remember, stay safe. Britain is our enemy line as for now.”
Despite Engel’s invitation, Tina refused it.
“I'm gonna safe house back after the meeting with Baroness Townsend, she's still waiting for Easter holidays so staying in Admiralty.”
Since Tina came to London, felt that's very different from both the Soviet Union and the United States. Though the society is not as strict as Communist Regime but certainly has a sort of order.
She went westward on foot, and found a huge square at the Charing Cross, it's named after Trafalgar, the place important in European history.
By the way Tina was not familiar with the Old World so it's difficult for her to tell the Ministry of Defence (MoD Main Building) from others in Whitehall. In fact, Whitehall is a political centre as well as Downing, in where Prime Minister's located.
Then she heard music on the car radio, it sounded from a black Leyland car. The melody was the same as what she listened to in Kharkiv during her childhood.
“Dorogoy dlinnoyu…”
The song was a sort of banned music though it's composed in the Soviet Union due to lyrics’ anti-government message.
“Ah ye lost way to go, pal?”
Then the Leyland with Union Jacks opened the rear door, the driver was in a trench coat.
“Get in the car please, welcome to London!”
“Taxi?”
“Aye for the Ministry of Defence. The American Embassy appointed me to give visitors a ride, perhaps like ye.”
Tina looked around to see if this was a sort of fraud or kidnapping.
“Aren’t you DIB, right? Take it easy.”
She breathed once and took a seat.
DIB is an American institute that stands for Defense Intelligence Bureau. The British counterpart is The Section 6.
The driver was singing a song inside the car.
Tina thought her voice was beautiful like a girl but annoying because she's too nervous not feeling like listening to music.
“Those were the days, my friend;
We thought they'd never end;
We’d sing and dance forever and a day…”
Tina was confused so couldn't help but ask the driver.
“What the hell are you singing about, or just being crazy?”
“Sorry lady, it's our ceremony to welcome visitors!”
It's like a sketch of British Broadcasting.
“But lady, ye must remember this melody. It's the same as the banned music in your country, and called «Dorogoy dlinnoyu»! Ye ain't really from the New World…”
Who do you think you are, Tina thought so. And lost temper enough to say:
“Hey Westerner, I didn't expect you're so respectless to foreigners. Yes, I'm a defector but you don't have any care for the past and sensitivity for others!”
The driver switched the recorder on the dashboard and her answer was without feeling:
Identification, this person is Valentina Belenkowa. The defector from the Soviet Union and working for DIB, the intelligence agency of the United States.
“You scum, stop the car and let me meet Baroness Townsend right now!”
Tina loaded her M92F pistol and directed it at the Driver's head.
Then the car arrived in front of the Ministry of Defence.
“Excuse me lady, here we're at the entrance. My name is Commander Jane Townsend, shall we take a cup of tea inside?”
The driver herself was turned out to be Baroness Townsend.
-The Ministry of Defence, Whitehall in the City of Westminster
The white architecture, though it's not so old, was built in 1959 but the area experienced many dangers, German bombs and this time they won't know what to happen: is it missiles from East, or bombs again from South America?
They often saw Union Jacks on the wall and sometimes it's replaced by White Ensign where Union Jacks is placed on an upper corner of Saint George's Cross as the Flag of Royal Navy. They walked to the Floor of Admiralty full of White Ensign.
“Please remember we're allies so I escorted you here, and here's the heart of the Royal Navy and all the Sea Power of the United Kingdom.”
Baroness Townsend doesn't look like a crazy girl now.
The corridor has portraits of Monarch and Admirals such as: Queen Victoria, King George V, Admiral Nelson.
“We're very serious about protecting our lands passed down from our ancestors. If you have a question, please ask me.”
Townsend pointed at another portrait, it's of King George III, known for the Monarch during the American Revolutionary War.
After a while of thinking, Tina asked.
“The United Kingdom reacts to an Islands dispute so radically, now we heard about the Royal Navy dispatching some nuclear submarines to the South Atlantic. Isn't it very aggressive to intrigue…”
“Intrigue? Who landed on the Islands unlawfully first these days?”
Argentine civil and military landed on the Islands and already seized the capital Port Stanley.
“I don't talk about the dispute itself, but I rather say that NATO won't help you unless the UK resumes diplomatic negotiations with Argentina. We should join together to counter the Soviet menace.”
NATO is a military alliance in Western World to counter the Soviet Union and Eastern countries.
Then Townsend laughed cynically,
“harm indeed, these simple-minded…”
She added.
“Well, in your view, all those fighting with other than the Soviets are the friends of the Soviets. Certainly foolish. The UK is a sovereign country, independent from NATO and of course from the US… the spirit rooted in the 1941 Atlantic Charter that regulates cooperation with all of its allies!”
“So we should return to the cooperation, though the aggressors aren't lawful but still there's room to talk…”
Then Townsend spun her revolver and directed it to Tina's face.
“OK, gonna Tories’ office and give them a hint, right?”
I'm no courtier of America. I stand up for this kingdom. -Earl of Chatham, 14 January 1766

Why Jap*nese "Imperial"ism is Still Ongoing
Happy birthday but it seems your empire even never changed after the bombs.
Today February 23 is the birthday of jap emperor.
Tumblr media
Eh, does he remember this picture?
It is reportedly a constitutional monarchy under parliamentary democracy. However its imperialism is still going on the next generation without introspection on bullshit and inhumane governance. General MacArthur's GHQ only abolished the traditional imperial constitution after the WW2 but other civil and criminal laws remain authoritarian especially in case it comes to the obligation and taxes.
The japanese tradition belittles freedom of business and innovation, just imitates some Western system without understanding the mechanism and philosophy.
The democracy should be done with multiple parties like the UK, but I see just a Party (LDP) ruling even their number of seats is less than a half. They're always helped by cultists and zealots in every general election. Isn't that the way of Imperial Rule Assistance Association? (Taisei Yokusankai)
The conglomerates dominate economy, and they exploit all the workers working for bread and circuses. The labor union is tamed by the conglomerates in their educational system to improve their work efficiency without investment from the company, oops it's what they call the very best Toy*ta Production System and Kaizen. Sorry.
Additionally, the Toy*ta Production System is stemmed from the colonial economy model in so-called Manchukuo during WW2, the genuine imperialist exploitation. After the breakthrough of the miracle Production System (TM), about 3,500,000 jap workers walkedout in 1975, but it shrank to nearly 0 in 2025. Splendid!
Remember, japs just enjoy playing excel and pressing buttons every day under your reign.
Above all, the world should say happy birthday to your majesty.
With love for Japan, on February 23, 2025

London Spy Mission 1982 Prologue
Tumblr media
-City of Gibraltar, 1 May 1982
(After the story of Tokyo Spy Mission 1970 https://commaful.com/play/jw2019/tokyo-spy-mission-1970-1/ and Warsaw Spy Mission 1978 https://commaful.com/play/jw2019/warsaw-spy-mission-1978-epi-the-ruin/)
The Overture
"The Ol' Blighty shines on the 7 Seas. Our company's been serving tea everywhere for centuries, on the Strand, at the Victoria Park in HK, and in Boston of course. In the way our Empire, Britannia rules the waves… That's why our Mary's is called the Teatime Empire."
Came from far away, across the Atlantics. They're just our customers as well as others,
but the difference is amidst misfortune conflict between two continents: Europe and South America.
This city, granted the city status from Queen Victoria is known as a British Overseas Territory in Continental Europe, it saw many ships on trade and sometimes in battle. The cityscape is sunkissed, and coloured in beige. The main street is well equipped with sunroofs on the wall.
"Hehe, this pamphlet of a café is silly... Mary's?"
"Harm indeed"
They carry large golf bags on each shoulder.
"Hey look there, Mary's. How about taking a breather over a cup of tea?"
Then a lady tore up the colleague's pamphlet, and said:
"Sí sí, but remember who our adversaries are!"
After they are served with tea on the roofed cafeteria table, enjoy the hot, and the sweet from teacup. Then rang the beeper in her pocket.
"Oh, the 5th Column seems to have crossed the border."
Her companions pursed their lips in a whistle.
“Azuca, it’s just time for the Flamenco guys incoming…”
Each of them cheered with cups of tea.
“¡Sí, por Nuestra Señora! (Yeah, for Our Lady!)”

-Royal Navy HQ, the Gibraltar Harbour
Here the naval base of the Royal Navy is a strategic spot to make a connection between Mediterranean and Atlantic. British Forces Gibraltar is stationed there to keep their eyes peeled for Soviet Fleets expedition on the Mediterranean.
The day passed as usual, the Officers were at teatime.
In the office, the Officers are accustomed to gathering for joking around noon.
“Captain Young of our task force did a great job on the South Atlantic, I think the helicopter is the best invention.”
Said Townsend.
“Haha,”
Surrounding men also laughed.
“Let’s thank Da Vinci’s sketch for sinking submarines, cheers!”
“Don’t forget about the depth charge!”
Then officers felt the earthquake.
“Oh, it’s quaking just like Japan!”
Townsend rushed to the windowside seeing outside of HQ area, then noticed fire at storehouses on the Harbour. She shouted to an ensign, her subordinate.
“Ensign, report many explosions at sametime on the Harbour. It’s undoubtedly sabotage!”
“Aye!”
Everyone in the office room obviously ran around in a sudden panic.
Ensign telephoned the Admiralty in London to report it in an atmosphere of pandemonium. The telephone is antique, with a rotary dial and set on the wall.
While the call, Ensign shouted to Townsend:
“Our admiral said it can’t be Argentine attack,”
Townsend glared at him while walking toward.
“Why dare you make a telephone call? The Admiralty doesn’t matter in this emergency!”
He answered in a small voice.
“...so Admirals should know…”
Then she took away his phone in hand to respond.
“Please stop your assumptions in London, the emergency is here in Gibraltar!”
Ensign noticed a rocket sounding outside. When Townsend hung up the receiver, she saw a RPG-7 warhead flying toward the HQ.
“Jump out of the window, guys!”
“Whoa?!”
She drugged his shoulder to jump into the opened window nearby. They heard the roar and felt heat on their back.

Kalevite Kange Rahvas -IT Tales from Soviet Estonia- Chapter 1 "C language" (novel)
Tumblr media
Kalevite Kange Rahvas -IT tales from Soviet Estonia-
Chapter 1 ”C Language”
Tallinn State Institute of Cybernetics, Estonia 1975
The computer room’s toasty and black displays of BESM supercomputers lit in orange. A lady with brown hair in white coat wrote on the black board: “printf("Hello, World!")”
The campus of State Institute of Cybernetics is located in front of Akadeemia Road in Tallinn, as a part of Tallinn State University. This laboratory prioritizes research in Information Technology for development of computer networks and Artificial Intelligence under the supervision of the state-level Academy of Sciences.
It is recognized, in Estonia, and in the whole Soviet territory of Occupier, as the center of Information Technology. This country Estonia, formally called “Eesti NSV” (Estonian Soviet Socialist Republic), is the IT hub of Eastern Bloc for heated technology competition during this Cold War with Western world… At least, the Central Government tells us in this way.
“Halloo, wonderful Krõõt! News for you.” The professor came. “Sorry, I’m busy coding…” I complained, then the professor sighed with a big gesture. “As you know, Our motherland is chosen to hold the next Olympiad. Isn’t it good news?” “Of course I understood. But it’s in Russia, not in my motherland though.” I’ve heard the 1980 Olympiad will be held in Moscow. Central TV was crazy to report this so many times as if I felt the special programs were aired every day last year. “Hey, hear me out. It’s to be held in YOUR city of Tallinn… it’s the victory of people!” I’m bored with such flattery. “Return 0;” I'm especially bored by those HIGH-LEVELs following the template of state propaganda.
“By the way, are you so free to write strange code on the board, comrade?” The boss dispatched from Leningrad asked me, it’s normal for such a guy working as a professor of Tallinn State University. I stopped “coding” then wrote and showed him the alphabet “C”… “Haha, you’re trying to joke with me about the Cyrillic alphabet Es? What does it stand for?” The guy is still laughing. “This C language is a new invention in Ameerika… I expected that our professor already knew it in depth.” “Why do we always NEED to know every Western invention? Pascal, ALGOL, BASIC, FORTLAN, PL/I and LISP… they already gave us too much!” He continued complaining: “Krõõt, we’re not students nor testers for Western technology… Do our business!” “Yeah, I remember whatta report to my boss. Will you come this way?”
Of course, the progress is needed in space projects. I left the black board and computers and accompanied by the professor, to the office room.
On the corridor to the office room, there are displays about technological events such as projects of space exploration and national-level networks.
“As you know, our project not only needs hardware seen here, but also software. The report I gathered will tell us obviously…” I pointed at a device, which is made in Estonia; The space station Salyut is equipped with a shining night clouds observer device called Mikron, so we see panels about space science placed here. “Krõõt, what do you mean by taking me to the office?” “I have documents to show you.”
As soon as we arrived at the office, I took documents clipped to one piece from a cabinet. “Time to do our business, just in a minute…” The code name Mars is written on the top. Literally it’s about the flight to Mars: no need to hide it because everyone knows we sent a dozen of spacecraft to the Red Planet. “Look at these new pages, professor.” I showed him a bundle of documents whose page color is different from the older one already changed to faded khaki. “K-G-B?” He scanned the details of new papers received. “Yes, my friend in KGB gave me this document. According to this, the American space agency is accelerating the programming in Space development by unification of codes…” I showed him a sample code written in C language. “This is the textbook used for their higher education. Already taught there.” After he read those tutorials said: “Well, so you study that strange code on black board?” He pointed at the outside of the office door, in the direction of the computer room. Looked like he’s guessing what I meant, so I nodded and replied. “Yes, it’s the key to State of the Art !”
“Sorry for bothering my comrade. Please go on to study C…” Finally, this professor nodded and walked to the office door. “Ask your friend to bring more codes here and you read, davai!”

Two Armed Forces, Two Siblings
Tumblr media
Both of Ukraine and Russia gained independent from USSR in 1991, the troops of Soviet armed forces are split into those who pledged allegiance to the Soviet (in short, it's the predecessor of Russian Armed Forces) and others pledged allegiance to the nations (Armed Forces of Ukraine is one of them). Kyiv was one of major military districts at that time.
Viktor Chechevatov, a Russian lieutenant general of Soviet Army refused to accept oath of allegiance to Ukrainian people in 1992, soon after the refusal he's removed from command of Kyiv Military District. He requested to be transferred to Russia as a commander of Russian Ground Forces.
Whereas in December 1991 Ukraine already formally established the Armed Forces of Ukraine by the Laws of Ukraine on 6 December 1991 regarding the creation of the Armed Forces though the formation was inherited from Soviet Armed Forces in Ukraine.

Greek cuisine and Wine cocktail automaton
Tumblr media
Before the christian era, Ancient Greek cuisine put bread - made with imported crop from Egypt - and wine as main dishes in daily life. Olive was precious and deemed as cash crop.
An automaton, or a robot called Automatic servant of Philon was assembled to serve and mix wine with water as they're accustomed in. The wine was served as a sort of cocktail then. (Thus wine is rather called as κρασί "blending" than οίνος "wine; οἶνος as the ancient spelling" in Greek)
Greek scholars researched robotics in Alexandria, Rhodes, Sicily and Byzantium. The machine artifact known as Antikythera mechanism (the earliest analogue computer) is famous for its precision and functionality to predict astronomical positions and eclipses decades in advance, said to be assembled in Rhodes or Sicily.
