[Drabble]: Insecurity

Prompt: “Do you really think I could ever replace you?” - Jyou and Yamato. In terms of partners for Jou, Sora is my first choice, but Yamato comes in at second place. So I’ve been meaning to explore Joumato a bit more. Thanks @50cyg for ‘forcing’ me to ;D

I’m really sorry, I can’t make it. Our study session is taking a lot longer than we anticipated. I’m so sorry. I’ll make it up to you, I promise!

Yamato gripped his phone tighter. It wasn’t fair; Jou never seemed to have time for him anymore. At the beginning of their relationship, when they’d lived separately, he’d made time. Nowadays, Jou was always studying with classmates and blowing him off.

Of course, Yamato understood that Jou was in his final year of medical school and, at 29, was one of the oldest students there. His numerous failed attempts at getting into medical school and the extra lessons he had to take had held him back quite a bit.

Yamato knew Jou really had to get his act together if he wanted to graduate. But that didn’t stop Yamato from silently griping about it.

Favorite Moment: Joumato Month (Extended Edition)

So, just kinda a note to myself, regarding my recent fanfic post. I’ve been meaning to go full-fangirl and actually catalogue all the Joumato moments in Adventure (and the two or so in 02 or Tri… since there’s practically nothing there). Oh, I hope you guys are familiar with dub episode titles. I know them better than numbers.

A/N: This was so difficult to pick. I’m not even sure it’s my favorite moment, but it is a moment that I first started noticing Yamato and Jou discussinng things in the background of the show; they’re often seen together when the focus is somewhere else and I guess that’s what this is about. I love that.

Oh, this takes place during the first half of episode 38, “Prophecy” / “Revival! The Demon Lord VenomVamdemon!” (Around 9:42 in the dub episode. Yes, I actually went to check.)

I've seen a lot of Digimon prompts lately and Joumato is a ship that seems well-loved but under-represented, so I wanted to give us a chance to share that! Why a month? Because a week was just too short!

This is for the pairing of Yamato Ishida and Jou Kido in Digimon.

The prompts don't have to be romantic. Other characters and Digimon can be mentioned/included.
