Okay, This is Going to Sound Weird but Boyd was Just, Like, Stealing Clothes Off Dead Hunters in the Background?: That’s Apathy, Apathy, You’ll be the Death of Me and it sounds perfectly in character to me so I’m not even sure what you mean by “weird.”

Are You Ever Going to Finish Your Series/Write a Sequel Like You Said You were Going to?:  I am super sure that I am one day going to do those things, yes.  Is that based on reality or previous patterns?  Listen, sometimes you just have to have faith, y’know?

”Hua Cheng would never bottom” are you high. Are you on drugs. What is it you smoke. Is it crack? Weed? Coke? Are you huffing glue? Are you on mushrooms? Xie Lian could politely go ‘I think I wanna top tonight’ in passing conversation and that man (ghost?) would go ‘Ok Gege :D I love you’ and then he’d happily get his back blown out, and he’d be arching the whole time. I know him personally so I can vouch. Get your act together.

I swear, with every danmei book I read, the protagonist gets ever more oblivious. I mean, I started out with Wei WuXian of all people, sitting there not knowing that he's pining over his best-bro-bestie (who's also pining over him) until he decides ya know what? marriage bow time! Because that is a completely logical progression!

But then! There's Xie Lian! Who has a mfing Calamity-level ghost pining over him for 800 years --- casually building elaborate temples for his celebrity crush while said disaster god burns down his house --- and who makes out with Hua Cheng "fOr SpIriTuAl PoWeR" on the regular, and who regularly runs across strange characters with one eye covered, a strange red-based colour scheme, and a strange devotion to him, only to run into a certain strange one-eye-covered, red-schemed, devoted Ghost King... and who not only doesn't connect the red-coloured dots, but also comes to the completely sensical conclusion that see how well I can resist the wily temptations of *women*? clearly, the only reason I can't resist the wily temptation that is Hua Cheng is that Guoshi never considered that hot men exist! and also regularly tries "not to bother him" while the latter is vibing --- in the literally vibrating sense --- in Paradise Manor waiting for gege to ask him for help.

AND THEN. Because that! Wasn't! Enough! There's fucking SHEN QINGQIU. (I'm finally reading SVSSS! I finished book 3 and am tracking down 4 now!) Who spends three fricking books simping after Binghe like there's no tomorrow (which, to be fair, he doesn't think there is) because oh holy shit, he's such a white lotus, look at how pure and handsome and powerful, oh god oh fuck, yes he's going to kill me but at least I have the honour of being killed by The Luo Binghe, I'm so lucky, holy shit, wait why isn't he putting together a harem of women?!?!? he's plenty hot and powerful and badass enough??!?!?! and also insists to the very end that oh, no, sir, I'm completely straight. As a ruler. I invented rulers, actually. Because of how straight I am.

AND THEN!! IT SOMEHOW GOT WORSE?!?!? Because I made the mistake of starting The Husky and His White Cat Shizun. And Mo Ran is... well, he puts the "moron" into his name, that's for damn sure. I mean, at least he knows he's into guys from the beginning, but like. My guy. You cannot sit here and say "Obviously, Chu Wanning and I shared a deeply intense hatred" and then wax poetic about how hot and elegant and calm and composed he is for two paragraphs with any degree of credibility At All.

(I'm Thriving. Never before have I had four fixations unlocked at once. My sanity is struggling, but my mind is buzzing and the world is fast.)

I don't really like fics, where the revelation of wwx not having a golden core when he created demonic cultivation fixes everything. Like, it doesn't really matter? I belive he would have created it anyway, when wc pushed him into bm.

And i don't like fics, where sunshot c. wins the war without wwx cultivation either. It's called grand master of demonic cultivation for a reason, right?

When i am on the subject, anyone have a rec on good long Fic?

the funny thing about the MDZS fandom is that one can write about wwx do all sorts of ridiculous things (from creating a magical dildo to convincing people that he is actually the reincarnation of a god) and fans will just say: yeah, he would do that

Also are these people capable of discussing anything without bringing themselves into it? How are they, their sister, and what they're deluding themselves that they would do in their little imaginary scenario relevant to the discussion at hand?!!

YanLi impulsively threw her own self between WWX and a sword. Of her own free will. She was killed by one of the ppl gathered there w jc to kill WWX. One of the ppl jc enabled w his attitude towards WWX. Shit's way more on jc's back than it will ever be on WWX's. Not to mention, jc just went and invalidated her last act by causing WWX's death. His hate and revenge weren't for her, they were for him. He didn't give a fuck about what she would have wanted. He made her death all about himself just like everything else ever. He could've raised her son with love and warmth instead he fucked even that up. Jin Ling was a rage blister before meeting WWX. He would've died if not for WWX and LWJ, because he was putting himself in fatal situations thanks to jc's stellar instruction. Trying to make jc proud and gain some modicum of approval and kindness.

"Jiang Cheng is a very HUMAN character" LMAO. So? What does it mean or matter? We're all human. It's what you do with it that counts.

A problem with this fandom is that people insist on interpreting WWX's every sacrifice as an act of love or low self esteem even when that's not the case. WWX's motivations are consistently misinterpreted by some people in this fandom. I see this a lot in regards to the golden core transfer and the choice to protect the Wen Remnants, which some see as "evidence" of WWX having low self esteem, which he doesn't have and JC being WWX's number one priority in life, which he never was.

Before the SSC, WWX put up with JC's rotten personality because of JFM. He felt he owed JFM and he respected JFM, but when we look closely at the two characters' interactions, the relationship consists mostly of WWX appeasing JC's temper or WWX having fun with other ppl and JC tagging along and being unpleasant (as always). Likewise, WWX's primary reason for giving JC his golden core isn't love nor is it any sort of feeling of inferiority (because WWX doesn't feel inferior to anyone) but his duty towards the Jiang sect, his promise to JFM and YZY and the debt he felt he owed the Jiangs for taking him in. Post-resurrection, WWX's wants nothing to do with JC and avoids him whenever possible.

WWX didn't save the Wen Remnants because he didn't value his own life but because it was the right thing to do. WWX is a character who always chose to do what he believed was right regardless of personal consequences because that's the kind of person he is. He's consistently confident in himself and his worth in the novel. He values his own life and well being, but is willing to take risks in order to do what's right simply because it's the right thing to do.

Towards the end of WWX's first life he did suffer a horrible amount of pressure and mental strain since he had to keep the Wen Remnants alive all on his own against the whole world while the whole world refused to let him be. But those were extenuating circumstances. Usually, WWX is confident and has a high self esteem, doesn't see himself as less because of his social status and doesn't buy into other people's accusations and slanders against himself. He's a happy man who doesn't hold onto resentment and is happy to remember only the good things in life.

Anyway, this is just a little rant about some of the nonsense that sometimes seem to overtake this fandom.
