AU Fourth wing x MHA crossover (oc x bakugo)
OC Zeraya Morvayne x Katsuki Bakugo
Both are cadets trialing for the prestigious Basgiath War College!
The day had finally come. The day where I would test myself and become a cadet after crossing the parapet. BWC college was waiting for me. All that stood between us was 200 stairs, and an eighteen inch parapet and wind and rain.
The slippy feel of my boots filled me with unease. The steps had me a little fatigued, despite all the training I’d done the last few months. But I’d take a thousand more steps than the parapet. Might hurt a lot more and take a lot longer, but worth it, especially considering it didn’t mean imminent death at the slip of a foot.
A few people ahead of me, there was a cadet called Jack Barlowe who was chasing after a girl–Violet Sorrengail–yes, that Sorrengail. I was only glad my last name wasn’t well known. I was nobody here. No famous parents or siblings. It was just me here.
There was a rider who took my name. “Name?” I stepped up to the rider, seeing the three stars. A third year rider, huh? “Zeraya Morvayne.”
“You’re up next, Morvayne.” The rider smirked, his gorgeous dark hair tousled back over his head. Those dark eyes with specks of gold–he was sure to be popular. I gulped and nodded, barely able to comprehend the beauty of the man before me when there was a large chance I was about to die.
“Can you hurry up? You’re taking a goddamn long time.” Someone a few people back yelled. I looked back and saw a blond guy with red eyes looking angrily at me. Someone’s eager to die.
It was as if I heard my thought out loud, and when I looked to the pretty third year rider, I saw he was smirking back at the cadet behind me. He had said exactly what I was thinking. I looked again at the flight leathers he was wearing and saw the wingleader patch on his jacket. Shit. A. Fucking. Wingleader.
The guy in front of me headed onto the parapet, and slowly started to walk out. I could feel the wind as I gripped the two sides of the turret. It was fucking torrential. And the rain wasn’t helping. The poor guy was practically shaking he was so terrified, and I couldn’t tell whether or not I was the same.
The wingleader nodded to me, his onyx eyes specked with gold looking to me carefully. It was my turn. I braced myself with the sides of the turret, using my hands to hold on for as long as I could. The wind greeted me at the end of the turret as I stepped out. Balance, Zeraya- balance.
I walked out, inching step after step as I swung my arms out for balance. I can do this. The wind was strong, but it was consistent. I only had so much left to go. The Sorrengail girl had made it across and she was stopping the Barlow guy from making it over. If my eyes didn’t deceive me, it looked as though she had a knife to his balls.
Ballsy move.
The fact that I almost laughed threw me off, and I almost lost my balance. But I was still going strong. I heard the gut-wrenching thud of someone slipping against the parapet and then a scream. That descended down and down until we couldn’t hear it anymore.
One wrong move, and that would be me. But that’s not what I need to think about. I stepped out one after the other, now definitely passed the halfway mark. If I can do this- get this far- I can do the rest. The end is near. And not death. No- I will do this.
I focus my eyes in front of me and look at the scribe and reader stationed on the other side, where all the cadets who made it are filing off.
Another two steps- “Oi you with the dirty blonde hair- hurry the hell up!” The same voice from earlier said. I turned a careful eye to what was behind and saw that there were now no people between us. Had they all slipped? Or had he.. Pushed them..
I sped up my pace ever so slightly, and tried to not let the anxiety get to me. He’s far enough behind that I can finish before he gets to me. I heard him start to laugh, and suddenly he was right behind me. “Go on, just a few more steps, sweetheart.” I could feel the smirk he was giving me. The bastard.
I walked the last steps, feeling his eyes on me as I stepped onto safe ground.
“Name?” the scribe next to the rider asked. “Zeraya Morvayne.”
(Lmk if we like this kinda content. I was just in tha mood for a fourth wing

Period comfort + cuddling<3
“lets go for a run.” He said, barging into your room. I groaned and rolled over.
“Noooo. I’m on my period, I will not be running.”
“Oh. you need anything?” he said sheepishly, standing in the door.
“Unless you have a portable heater I could put right on me, no, im okay.” you said, sitting up slightly.
“Is it.. Really bad?” He said, playing with his hands.
“Fucking bad. I took pain killers but they didn’t work- I think i've gotten used to them.” You said, whining slightly.
“Okay, move over.” He said, walking in.
You raised an eyebrow and just watched as he slipped off his shoes and hopped into your bed beside you. He pulled you against him and put his hands on either side of your stomach, cupping the sides of your waist and the front.
“Holy shit your hands are so warm-” You said, trying to avoid the weirdness, but it felt so good, so you couldn’t even focus on the weirdness. This was the kind of relief you dreamed of, when it came to period cramps.
“Comes with the quirk, i guess.” He said, tightening his grip slightly. You put your hand over his and adjusted it slightly. “Is this okay?” He said, shaking slightly. You could feel it against you.
“It feels really nice.” You said, leaning back against him. You closed your eyes and relaxed, finally at ease after hours of suffering through the pain.
“Mmn.” You moaned softly, relaxing against him. “You want some chocolate?” You asked, looking up at him from where you rested your head against his chest. He smirked, almost grinning, “I’m okay.” He said, leaning his head back against your headboard.
You both stayed like that for a few hours, and you fell asleep an hour or so in, completely out.
When you woke up, he was still there, hands still holding you. Then, there was a knock at your door, You tensed, and so did he, and you got up slowly, hissing in pain at the loss of his hands.
“Fuck.” You said softly, You answered the door, only to see Mina, Kaminari, Kirishima, and Sero.
“Hey girl! Can we come in? We wanted to study. We were gonna bring Bakugo, but he wasn’t in his dorm- or not answering.” You gulped. That’d be about right, considering he was in your bed.
“Uh, s-”
“Cool! Let’s go!” She said, barging into your room. Luckily, Katsuki had moved, and was now sitting at your desk.
“Oh hey, bakugo…” they said, piling into your room.
“That’s not suspicious at all. What were you two doing?”
“Can’t I fucking hang out with a friend?” He huffed, grabbing a pen.
They let it go and sat down, grabbing their books. You sat on the floor near your desk with the others–apart from katsuki, who sat on your chair.
“Hey, can i check your phone? Mines dead.” mina said, grabbing your phone. Your heart dropped. You had taken a photo of you, with Katsuki in the back, his hands visibly around your waist. She opened your phone and raised an eyebrow, before checking whatever she needed to check, and then said a quick thank you and put your phone down.
“Hey, wanna go for a walk? I need water.” She said, smiling, grabbing your hand. You gulped and followed her. She was dead silent until you got into the elevator.
“HOLY SHIT THAT PHOTO? YOU GUYS WERE CUDDLING?” She squealed, grabbing you and shaking you violently. You stammered. “He was just helping with cramps..”
“Instead of offering to get you a heat pack? Aizawa has made it very clear theres enough for all of us in the kitchen…”
“True..” You smiled, blushing softly.
“Holy shit thats crazy- I can’t believe it- wait, can i see the photo again?” She said, and you offer her your phone.
“Oh my god- look! He’s not asleep! And- damn..” She said, raising an eyebrow. “He’s totally hard.” she said, and you gulped.
He was hard?
You two grabbed water and then headed back to your room.

Katsuki x reader friends to lovers pt 1
Set in your first year at the dorms.
You were making food in the kitchen in your common room when he came downstairs. He leaned over you, looking at what you were making. “Whatcha- okay.” he said, stepping back and going to get a shake from the fridge. Believe it or not, he had a shelf all to himself in the dorm fridge, and anyone who touched his stuff…. Well they would definitely regret it.
“I don’t know HOW you drink those things, Kats, they’re disgusting.” You said, taking a bite of the sandwich you made. Chicken and lettuce, your favourite.
“You don’t take supplements? Are you insane?” He said, taking a sip and walking ‘round to a couch and plopping himself down. “Why would I? I don’t wanna be some bodybuilder…” You followed, sitting down next to him on the other end of the couch and putting your feet up between you guys.
“You look like that, and you don’t take any fucking supplements?” He said, raising his eyebrows. “Don’t know what you’re implying, but no, I don’t.” He shook his head. “Shits unfair. You know how hard I work to look like this?” You raised an eyebrow at him. Yes, you did know how hard he worked. You heard him every morning from across the hall, trudging down like a grumpy toddler as he headed to the gym in his sweats. And after school. And on his off days when he couldn’t sit still and would end up dragging you on a run with him–much to your dislike.
“Sure, Kats. What flavour is that anyway? Can I try?” You said, reaching out and making a grabby motion. “Fuck no. I need every drop of this.” He said, putting the shaker out of your reach. You leaned over him and grabbed the shake, earning an annoyed yell. “Oh hell-” he said, leaning away.
You still managed to grab the shake though, mysteriously getting it out of his grip with ease. “You care if I lip it?” He huffed. “Do whatever I don’t care.” You took a sip from the shake, your face scrunching up in distaste. The thing was disgusting. “God- how do you drink this?” You said, handing the shake back to him. He smirked, eyes staying on you the whole time. He pointed to his lips. “You got a little something.”
You wiped it off and smiled. “Thanks blasty.” He groaned, cringing the fuck out. “Would you not? Thats cringe as hell.” “For letting me drink that- I think you deserve it.” you said, shoving him in the side with your foot. “What the hell? You took it off me! I didn’t make you do shit!” He said, and there was a gasp from the hallway. “Have you two finally fucked? Tea!” Mina said, rushing in and jumping on top of you on the couch. You gagged. “Hell no, we’re just friends.” “Then what the hell was the context of that statement?” “I tried his shake and it was gross and I blamed it on him.” you said, rolling your eyes.
“Right, well, can I have a bite? Im hungry~” She said, opening her mouth. I put the sandwich up to her and she took a huge bite. “Mmm- shhhs sho good!” she mumbled, chewing.
“Well, bye!’ She said, getting up and walking off.
“Can I have a bite?” he said, raising an eyebrow. You shuffle closer and hand him the sandwich, but he grabs your arm and brings the sandwich up to his mouth. He keeps his eyes on you as he takes a bite. “She was right. Shits good.”
(five minutes later)
“Did you do the English homework from present mic?” He asked, standing up and putting his shake bottle in the dishwasher. I gulped. “Don’t be mad… I didn’t…” You said, earning a wide eyed glare from him. “(insert full name here)” He said, folding his arms. “WHAT- YOU- you’re not my mother, ho.” He stalked over to you, leaning over you as you leaned your head back over the couch. “It’s due tomorrow, you idiot.” He paused, leaning down to you more. “And I’m not a ho.” He grabbed your arm and made you stand up. “We’re going to my room, you need to do that shit.”
You followed, his hand slipping from your arm down to your hand, clasping around your fingers.
When you got to his room, you sat down on the side of his bed and pulled out your book. “Do you remember what he went over?” You smiled awkwardly and he sighed. “It was just some sentence stuff. Here, I’ll help you.” He said,
(2 hours later)
“You’re way dumber than I thought.” He said, lying back on his bed. You kicked his leg. “Hey! I get good grades!” You said, leaning against the wall on the side of the bed.
You stood up, grabbing the tv remote and switching it on. “I think I’ve earned a reward.” You said, putting on netflix and sitting back down. “Do whatever. I’m going to sleep” “Pfft, baby.” You said, and he snapped his head to look at you. “What did you say?” He said, pausing in his movements. “You’re a baby for going to sleep so early, Kats.” He nodded. “Oh. right.” he said, getting under the blankets and closing his eyes. “Don’t do any weird shit like setting my room on fire.” He said, turning away from the tv.
You watched TV for a little while before your eyes began to close, and then you were out.
You woke up around six in the morning, confused on how you got back to your dorm, until you realised you weren’t in your dorm. You were in Katsuki’s. And if you were right, you were tucked into his chest, with his arms around you.
Not weird. You thought. Don’t make it weird. You thought. You tried to go back to sleep, but you couldn’t. It was such a strange thing, but oddly, you didn’t mind. It was comfortable
You continued to sleep for another two hours, and when you woke up, it was eight. Katsuki had turned over, making you think you had imagined the whole ordeal.
“Hey, get up. Hey. Hey!" He said, prodding you with a finger.
“Mnn.. no..” You said, rolling over away from him. He pulled the blankets off you and threw them on your head. “Get up idiot. Aizawa’s gonna have my ass for letting you sleep in my dorm. So get up, or I’ll beat your ass.”
“Who cares? It’s not like we’re..."
"So? We're as good as dead if they all think we did.. stuff."
You both walked to class, filing in with the rest of your class.
“Today, you’ll be working in pairs to get through an obstacle course. You can choose your partner, but I don’t want anyone to be left out or I’ll change them all up.” Aizawa said, zipping up his sleeping bag.
“partners?” Katsuki said, nodding towards me. ‘Sure, whatever.”
-
“Pair three, get ready.” Aizawa said, and Katsuki and I got into position, low and ready to run into the tight space. BANG
We shot off in a sprint, and when we got to the small space, he scooted in ahead of me, shooting off at a fast pace. I followed in behind him, keeping up easily.
“Left!” he called, swerving left as the tunnel abruptly ended, leaving little room for error. “Left!” He called, turning left again.
“Up!” he called, reaching out his hands. He threw me up over his shoulder and up onto a ladder, and when I was high enough up, he jumped, grabbing onto the ladder below me. Once we reached the top, it was a tight crawl for a few minutes.
We would be first. No one had team coordination like us- that was for sure.
“Fuck,” he said, continuing to crawl behind me. “Whats up? You stuck?” He grunted, “No, it’s just a bit.. uncomfortable, So to speak.” “Okay.. well deal with it.” You said, crawling further. “I see the end, we’re close.”
He kept grunting as we continued, but you just put it down as discomfort. And then when we were nearing the edge of the tunnel, he let out a large noise, and then he seemed to stop.”Kats? You okay?”
“mhm. Just, go-” He grunted.
After the tunnel, we had to swim in a dark little cave. He handed you a piece of the short orange rope we were given, and swam ahead, keeping us together with the rope.
“Faster, lets go.” He said, pulling you by the rope attached at your waist. You let him drag you, despite the fact you were going as fast as you could.
We reached the end of the cave and crawled up into the shore, still dark.
Then there was a tight crevice for us to go through. You stopped, making Katsuki stopped. “What?” he said, raising an eyebrow. “I can’t go in there.” You said, voice, shakey. “Yes you can, now come on.” You shook your head “Katsuki, I cant.” He pulled you by the arms. “Hey, look at me, you can, now come on.” He pulled you by the arm into the crevice, and you started shaking, but let him take you. “That’s it, it’s okay. You’re doing it. It’ll be over soon.” He said, whispering soft words of encouragement. Your breathing began to slow, relaxing slightly as he comforted you.
“Come on Hun, we’re almost there.” He huffed, obviously trying his best to comfort you.
Then, you finally made it out, with him ahead of you. “Open your eyes. you did it.” He said, his thumb brushing your arm gently. You opened your eyes, smiling softly.
“Holy shit- I did it”
“Fuck yeah you did.” He said, “Now come on, we gotta move.” He said, letting go and running off, heading through the next part, just a puddle-kinda place, not to deep, you were able to run through it. Then it got super cold, and then the surface froze and became slippery.
“Watch out, it’s slippery.” He said, running along like a champ. Slippery my a-
You thought, before slipping. He turned back around and sighed.
“Hold still, I have an idea.” He said, before grabbing your arms and swinging you along the ice so fast you headed down the far side. Then, the ice cracked underneath you and you feel through, falling into a much deeper body of water, not a puddle.
You thought it was absolutely freezing, and panicked when you saw the hard layer of ice that got thicker and thicker as you travelled with the current. And then it went black. It was fucking pitch black and you couldn’t breathe. There was nowhere to breathe, nowhere to get out. And the current was to strong to swim back.
You were going to die. You shed a quiet tear, to scared to scream. No one would hear anyway, you were far submerged. And then the light picked up again, and there was a hole down the end. You swam towards it, and finally resurfaced, to find All might with a towel, and your other classmates who had already done it.
All might offered you a towel, and a few seconds later, Katsuki came out, bursting through the surface. He looked horrified, scared out of his mind, guilty even. He stalked over to you and pulled you close immediately. He held you so tight you could barely breathe.
“I’m so sorry.” He said, squeezing you.
“It’s okay Katsuki-” You said, tapping him softly.
“No it fucking isn’t. I swung you over the ice not even thinking it could break- what would’ve happened if that wasn’t supposed to happen? I saw the darkness. I saw how it went thicker and thicker ice to straight concrete. Had that been it, you would’ve fucking died.”
You smiled up at him. “You jumped right in after me, Kats. I would’ve been fine.” He laid his chin on your head.
“That fucking scared me.” He whispered, pressing his lips to your head.
“You can let me go now, its okay.” You said, pushing him away slightly.
“Well, that was quite reckless of you, Young Bakugo. You threw your teammate with no regard of what could’ve happened to her, and then jumped in straight after, risking your own life. I admire your bravery, but please think next time. Had that been an accident, you and Young ___ could’ve died.”
You went to sit next to Kirishima after grabbing a towel from all might. “He totally likes you.” He said, nudging you softly. You brush him off. “No he doesn't.”

MHA Spicy headcanons <3
18+ MDNI !!!!!
Aged up characters, obviously. All characters ae 18+.
CW: sexual stuff, female anatomy,
Kirishima, Bakugo, Kaminari headcanons<3
pt 2?
Kirishima
After a few rounds/after he cums he relies on his quirk to keep him hard to please his partner <3
Sometimes triggers his quirk when he cums/if he's too overstimmed (good thing) "Fuck baby I-" *Quirk triggers* "Oh shit- sorry I didn't mean to-"
Whimpers a lot and makes a lot of noises when he feels good. This would look like: "Oh baby fuck- your mouth- hngh~" He whimpers, his face strewn up in pleasure, his hands fisted, white knuckling the sheets beneath him.
Is a very ‘loving on you’ kinda guy. Princess treatment, eating you out for hours type shi:
"Oh hun, I know you can keep going for me, can't you love? I just really wanna keep eating your pretty pussy.. please?" He licked up your slit, his eyes finding yours as you saw the hunger, the desire, the devotion, in his eyes. Your boyfriend loved nothing more than an evening spent devouring his girl. Even as your legs began to shake, as tears streamed down your face from the amount of pleasure he gave you. Even as you begged for mercy, you both knew you liked it.. and he didn't stop.
When he finally gave in, he would scoop you up off the bed, gentle as always, and carry you to the bathroom. He'd pamper you like he knew you deserved. His girl who deserved the world. And for letting him eat your pretty pussy for hours on end, god- he'd do anything for you.
Bakugo
Gets hard SO easily and will just grab your hand and put your hand on it. Out with friends? Hes grabbing your hand. Watching a sad movie? Grabbing your hand. Theatre? you guessed it. And he’d blame you for it. "Look what you've fuckin done to me." He whispered, placing your hand right on his painfully hard cock. "I need you so bad, and I can't do anything about it." As you palmed his cock through his pants you'd feel his hips twitch ever so slightly, a groan fluttering from his lips. "You're gonna fucking pay for this when we get home, you tease."
Likes to memorise what you like. Knowing exactly how to please you is a huge turn on for him. He likes to watch you please yourself, watching exactly how you massage your clit, each twitch and shudder, everytime you palm your breasts, gently rubbing a gentle finger over your nipples, back arched as you got lost in your own world. There was little he liked more than seeing his girl please herself. "Atta girl. Show me how you like it." He would whisper, stroking his cock firmly, refusing to tear his eyes away from the sight before him.
Bakugo's sweat contains Nitroglycerin, which is used in explosives but is also a muscle relaxant. This means that when hes fingering you and his sweat mixes with your juices, it is literally relaxing you. Making it easier for him to loosen you up, get your ready for his cock.
Kaminari
Uses miniature electric shocks to add to the pleasure. He'll run a fingertip over your nipple, sending the tiniest little spark through and making you jolt, moaning wildly. "Gotcha there, sparks. How'd that feel?" He'd tease, smirking down at you as he replaced his finger with his mouth, sucking softly.
Very very vocal. Loves to let you know how he's feeling in bed. "Oh my god baby- fucking hell you feel so good-" "i'm gonna cum- I'm gonna fucking cum in that pretty pussy-"
Loves to watch you ride him, arms behind his head as he gets mesmerised by that pretty body.

"Baby.. are you serious?" Ei looked as if it was a tragedy no one had ever gone down on you. "We can't have that now, can we? Isn't that right Kats?" Katsuki shook his head, looking at you as if he was eyeing up his next meal. "I want to taste that pretty little cunt." He murmured, nipping at your jaw, and then your neck.
"Eaasyy Kats, we gotta treat our girl. Spoil her." Ei ran a gentle hand through Katsuki's hair, guiding him lower. "Gentle, Kats. Be gentle."
Katsuki huffed. "What if she don't fucking want it gentle?" He looked up at you for clarification. "I- I don't know." You shuddered, watching as Katsuki slipped his fingers into the waistband of your sweats, tugging them down, almost licking his lips.
He kissed your hips as your pants lowered, before grabbing the hem of your panties with his teeth. "My pretty girl." He groaned, tugging them down, his eyes practically lighting up.
"Every fuckin' time I get so goddamn horny seeing that gorgeous pussy.." He kissed up your thigh, inching closer every second. You sucked in a breath as you felt his mouth cup your clit, his tongue gently teasing either side.
"Fucking hell baby-" He moaned into you, swiping his tongue in between your folds. His hands clenched around your thighs as he held you against him. "My good girl. So fucking good for me."
"For us, Kats. She's ours." Ei said, palming your breast with one hand as he kissed up your chest, to your neck.
There was so much going on you could barely concentrate. Your mind was absolutely blown, holy shit.

The training camp! Chapter 4!
────୨ৎ────ℂ𝕙𝕒𝕡𝕥𝕖𝕣 19────୨ৎ───
When I woke up I was restrained. Pitiful restraints that I could release in an instant, but I needed to get a good read of the surroundings and…
I looked to my left, taking in Bakugo who had yet to wake up.
“Ah, she’s awake. The brave young hero who dove toward villains to save her friend.” Shigaraki’s foul voice poured into my skull like acid.
I went to speak but was gagged. “I remember you, you fought Bakugo here and lost. And you won the first and second events in the sports festival.. Yes I do remember you.”
I frowned furiously at him, before turning my eyes back to Bakugo.
“Ungag her.” He commanded, and some lizzard like guy came over and took the gag out of my mouth. I snapped my teeth at his fingers, trying to get at anything. Or so they thought.
“A feisty one.. Perhaps you wouldn’t be such a bad piece after all.” “Like hell. You can shove that offer right up your ass, Shigaraki.”
“If we hurt your friend would you reconsider?” He whispered, and my thought process of another insult stopped dead in its tracks. “I thought so.”
Bakugo soon began to thrash about in his restraints. His gaze seemed to soften with saddness when his eyes found mine, and he inspected my restraints. The heroes would be here soon right? It would be too risky to get out and save him–too risky to put my power on display where all for one could immediately see.
“An interesting hair colour you have, Kitamura.” The TV at the back of the room flickered. “May I know which parent you got that from? Or is it a mutation of sorts?” Oh god. Oh god that voice. My eyes widened. If he knew.. I had to tread carefully. It was likely he already knew.. But in case he didn’t.
What was I thinking- following them? Oh right, I wasn't.
Silence. That was what I figured was the best answer.
“Shigaraki, untie her.” All for one called.
Shigaraki followed his order and had be unbound. He was setting me up for failure. If I used my quirks.. His quirks.. He’d know. So realistically- I was more tied up now then I was tied up with the rope.
“That’s what I thought. Quirkless? I think not. Any sane student with a quirk as strong as yours would get your classmate out of here and be long gone already. Why is it you hesitate?”
“I saw you at the festival. What a strange coincidence you ended up right in the leagues lap.”
I prayed it wasn’t too late. One of our biggest aces had just gone down the drain. Or had it?
“I’m not sure what exactly your quirk is, but surely my successor would be able to make use of you.”
They untied Bakugo as well. “You idiots stay away from her. It was me that you wanted wasn’t it?” He growled, glaring at each of them as he assessed his surroundings.
“Well if you grabbed an apple from a tree but one also fell into your lap, who’s to say we don’t make the most of that opportunity.” All for one chuckled.
Minutes passed and all I could do was stay silent. I tried not to look at Katsuki. God knows I would've lost my composure if I had seen what was in his eyes.
All the while they tried to convince us to join the league. Viciously taunted by Katsuki, who seemed all but unphased.
Bakugo and I went silent as we heard the knock, and the ‘pizza delivery’… I prayed they’d get him out.
Then suddenly all might was bursting through the walls, along with kamui woods, and a few other heroes. Bakugo and I ran for the exit, but all for one was quicker, and had all of us–league included–warped to where he was.
No…
My father’s smile lit up as he looked at us, though of course without his eyes. “Ah, we meet at last. I humbly re-offer you both a position at the league.”
Bakugo looked to me. He knew this man was my father. “Hell no. like I said earlier, you can shove that-”
“I’ll do it. I’ll join.” I cut him off, staring at my father’s head.
“Ah, finally some reason. Glad to have you, Kitamura. Join the other’s while I deal with the heroes.”
“Miya?.. What are you doing..” Bakugo asked, his voice shaky. Of course, this was obviously his suspicion, that I’d become part of the league and destroy heroes with my father. But my cause ran deeper than that. But that would have to wait.
“Hey there cutie! My name’s Toga, Himiko Toga. I can’t wait for us to be friends- you look crazy strong. Just like Mr stainy~” She extended a hand, her smile wide as she inspected me. I took it firmly, “I look forward to being friends too, and finally putting a stop to all this fake hero bullshit.” a few others murmured their agreement.
“You’re not as bad as they made you look on tv, kid.” Dabi said, lurking in the background.
“The name’s spinner, and the freaky looking one is Dabi. I want to bring stain’s word to fruitition and eliminate all false heroes.”
I smiled at him, nodding. “Preach!” I said, high-fiving him.
Suddenly all for one warped the rest of the league away with ‘big sis mag’s’ quirk.
Time to get to work.
(I'm sorry if this wasn't where you expected this to go.. let me know if theres any alt paths you'd like the story to take!)

The training camp! Chapter 3! - the attack
────୨ৎ────ℂ𝕙𝕒𝕡𝕥𝕖𝕣 18────୨ৎ───
We didn’t talk about the night before. Of course we didn’t. He didn’t even look at me when we lined up for the morning drills, just cracked his neck and shouted at Kaminari for stepping on his foot.
But when Aizawa told us we’d be making dinner as a class, and I went to grab the cutting board first, guess who grabbed the carrots right next to me?
“Tch. You’re gonna slice your fingers off if you hold the knife like that.”
Mina slid up behind me with a big grin. “Oop, lovers’ quarrel at the curry station!”
“We’re not—” I started.
“Don’t,” Bakugo growled at her, eyes narrowing.
She stuck her tongue out and skipped off to stir something that absolutely did not need stirring.
“Do you want help with the potatoes?” I asked, glancing at his pile.
“I don’t need help.”
“You’ve peeled one.”
“I’m letting them soak,” he lied, badly.
I rolled my eyes and grabbed one anyway, and we stood side by side at the prep table, not talking about anything but somehow still synced up. He passed me ingredients without looking. I handed him a clean bowl when he needed one. It was easy.
It felt easy.
Even if everyone else kept side-eyeing us like we were time bombs in the same room.
Dinner turned out edible, which was a win, considering Kaminari burned rice in a rice cooker.
After cleanup, the Pussycats gathered us outside with that suspicious kind of energy that only meant one thing: something mildly terrifying was about to happen.
And of course it was.
“Tonight’s activity is a Test of Courage!” Mandalay announced cheerfully, holding up a flashlight like it was a sword. “Class A will be going into the forest in pairs, while Class B will be waiting inside… to scare you.”
There were groans. Some cheers. A loud, suspicious “HELL YES.” Probably from Tetsutetsu.
We were each given slips of paper with numbers.
I opened mine slowly.
Of course.
Of course.
Bakugo glanced at his and let out a sharp, angry huff.
“What number?” I asked, already knowing.
“Three,” he muttered.
I held mine up silently.
“Are you kidding me?” he snapped, crumpling his paper a little in his hand. “Iida’s literally right there and would’ve gone with anyone.”
“Well, I didn’t rig it,” I said. “Blame fate.”
“Fate’s a dumbass.”
He stomped off toward the starting line, and I followed, biting the inside of my cheek to keep from laughing.
Mina passed me as she was heading back to the lodge with Jirou, wiggling her eyebrows. “Try not to make out in the haunted woods!”
“Shut up,” I muttered, face already warm.
“Not making any promises,” Bakugo added behind me, smirking like an absolute menace.
I turned to stare at him.
He looked way too pleased with himself.
We stood at the forest entrance while Aizawa gave us the usual half-bored warning speech about staying on the trail and not fighting the upperclassmen disguised as monsters.
Then, our flashlight clicked on, and we were pushed forward into the trees together.
The trees were tall here—older than the rest of the forest, I guessed. They blocked out most of the moonlight, and all you could really hear was the sound of leaves shifting high above us and Bakugo’s boots crunching the path beside me.
It was a little too quiet.
“How long is this stupid thing again?” he muttered.
“Dunno,” I said. “Long enough for Class B to plot something dramatic, probably.”
He scoffed, but I noticed he was holding the flashlight just a little tighter now.
I didn’t say anything when I crossed my arms tight across my chest. The night air had cooled down since dinner, and the forest held onto it in a way that felt sharp around the edges. It snuck in under my hoodie sleeves, up the back of my neck.
Bakugo noticed.
He didn’t say anything either. Just huffed, peeled his jacket off in one motion, and dropped it over my shoulders without looking at me.
“Don’t be annoying about it,” he grumbled, already stuffing his hands into his pockets.
I blinked, trying to hide the way my chest tugged a little.
“…Okay.”
I kept it on.
We walked a little more. The path twisted up and around, and the trees pressed in closer. There were weird props hidden in the bushes—flashes of bright paint and fake blood and cardboard limbs—but they hadn’t really used anything yet.
That should’ve been my first warning.
The jump scare came out of nowhere.
A massive sheet of metal clattered down from a branch above, slamming into the ground just a few feet ahead of us, and something—probably Monoma in a ridiculous mask—leapt out from behind it with an inhuman screech.
I yelped—actually yelped—and grabbed onto Bakugo’s arm instinctively, fingers curling hard into his bicep.
He didn’t flinch. Just stood there, glaring at the figure with enough venom to kill it.
“You think that’s scary?” he yelled. “Come out here and I’ll show you what fear is!”
Whoever it was scampered off real fast after that.
I realized I was still holding onto him.
I let go fast, clearing my throat. “Sorry.”
He smirked. A little too proud. “Didn’t hear you complain when you grabbed me.”
“I will literally feed you to the next monster we see.”
He chuckled—actually chuckled. It sounded like gravel in his throat.
But the mood shifted not long after that.
It started subtle. Just a shift in the air. The fog creeping low around the trunks. The sudden scent of smoke that didn’t come from a fire pit.
“Do you smell that?” I asked.
Bakugo stopped walking. His head tilted slightly, nose twitching. “Yeah.”
Then the screaming started.
Distant at first—but real.
The flashlight flickered again. I reached for my quirk without even thinking, the air humming faintly around my fingers. Bakugo was already in fight mode, shoulders squared, gaze sharp.
Smoke curled through the trees.
We took off running.
We didn’t say it, but it was clear. The training exercise was over. This was something else.
We moved together instinctively. He veered right, I followed. I pointed out shapes through the fog, he blasted the trees to create openings. We ducked low, avoided fire, dodged what looked like black mud crawling through the grass. It felt coordinated. Too coordinated.
Somewhere in the distance, I heard Mandalay’s voice echo through the woods—her telepathy, faint but clear.
“The villains are after Kacchan.”
The name dropped into my chest like a stone.
I turned to him immediately. “You heard that, right?”
“Don’t start,” he snapped, already speeding up.
“No, seriously—if they’re after you—”
“I said don’t start.”
He didn’t look at me, but his jaw was tight, hands sparking slightly as we pushed through the trees. I kept up with him, heart hammering, head turning every which way to catch a glimpse of someone—anyone from our class.
“They could be anywhere—Bakugo—Katsuki.”
That made him stop. Just for a second.
“I don’t need protecting,” he said, low and sharp.
“I know that,” I said, breathless. “But I’m not just gonna let them take you either.”
He stared at me, eyes flicking over my face, like he couldn’t believe I’d said it.
And then—over the ridge—blue fire lit the treetops.
Bakugo turned before I could grab his sleeve.
I followed anyway.
I lost him in the smoke.
It happened so fast.
We were running, zig-zagging through the trees, trying to stay ahead of the fire, the mud, the explosions echoing in the distance—some from villains, some from our classmates.
One second he was right in front of me, blasting a path through the brush, eyes blazing with that usual fury.
And the next—gone.
Swallowed by the smoke.
“Katsuki!”
I spun around, coughing, hand raised with my quirk already humming under my skin. The light from my palm barely cut through the fog. The trees were too thick. I couldn’t see past more than five steps.
“KATSUKI!”
No answer.
I moved faster, pushing branches aside, slipping slightly in the wet dirt beneath my shoes. My heart was racing—too fast—like it was trying to outrun my thoughts.
He was fine. He had to be.
He was always fine.
He didn’t need protecting. He told me that.
My hands were shaking. Not from fear. From frustration. From not knowing where he was, from not being able to do anything. From the way every tree started to look the same and my breath wouldn’t stay even.
Everything has gone to shit. A small piece of me was immune to all the chaos going on, a deadly-frightening calm that I didn’t know existed.
As soon as one of the pussy-cats sent word that the villains were after ‘Kacchan’ I was using one of my father’s search quirks to look for him. I had already tied my hair up and put it under the hood so they wouldn’t see, and I’d decided that I would only use one or two similar quirks, if need be.
I ran into Shoji, Midoriya, and Todoroki. Midoriya was frantic as he said that Bakugo had just been with them–and so had Tokoyami.
My heart dropped deep into a pit in my stomach.
Air force-to propel me, springlike limbs, kinetic booster, strength multiplier, forced quirk activation and rivet.
I needed that damn pussy cat to use search and find him. I saw where he was and bolted. Air walk, air force. That would do the trick wouldn’t it?
Was this somehow my fault? Or worse, was this a trap?
When he came into view he was being pulled into a warp with the other villains and I screamed like I’d never screamed before.
The worst had truly come to pass.
I dove toward the warp gate, trying my hardest.
“Miya- no!” Someone called, but I didn’t care. And then there was a bit of darkness, and a thud as I landed on wood. And then something came crashing down on my skull.

The training camp! Chapter 2!
────୨ৎ────ℂ𝕙𝕒𝕡𝕥𝕖𝕣 17────୨ৎ───
By the time we reached the training camp lodge, I was soaked in sweat, mud caked from my calves to my knees, and my ponytail had somehow turned into a nest of leaves and regret.
We’d made it.
Barely.
“Ughhh,” Mina groaned, dragging her feet up the final hill like she was on death’s door. “This is supposed to be training camp, not survival of the fittest.”
“You survived,” Sero said, slapping her shoulder with a tired grin. “Barely, but still.”
“Let’s just say some of you could use the training more than others,” Aizawa said, deadpan as ever, standing on the lodge steps like he hadn’t just watched us all get our asses handed to us by a bunch of glorified puddles.
The building loomed ahead of us, tucked into the trees — rustic and surprisingly large. It looked cozy enough, but right now all I cared about was whether it had showers and a floor I could collapse on.
“Inside,” Aizawa said. “You’ll be splitting into rooms. Girls in one, boys in the other. No complaints.”
No one had the energy to complain. Just groans, nods, and dragging feet.
Inside, the air was cooler and smelled faintly like cedarwood and something warm — probably dinner. There was a big common area near the front, with worn couches and wooden beams lining the ceiling. I barely looked at any of it.
Mandalay appeared from around the corner, hands on her hips and a teasing smile on her face. “Wipe your feet. Mud doesn’t magically disappear just because you’re heroes in training.”
“Don’t tempt me,” Kaminari muttered.
After a quick rundown of the rules — don’t be loud, don’t sneak into the other room, don’t die — the girls were ushered to the left hallway, the boys to the right.
“See ya after showers,” Kirishima called, giving me a tired thumbs-up. “Try not to pass out before food.”
I smirked. “No promises.”
Jirou collapsed face-first onto the nearest mattress. “This is fine. This is where I live now.”
I dropped my bag beside the bunk closest to the wall and sat down slowly, feeling the aches settle in.
Everything hurt. My arms, my back, my legs. Even my eyelids hurt. But there was a strange satisfaction in it. Like I’d earned this exhaustion.
I leaned back against the wall and looked around the room — the girls all sprawled out in various stages of dirty, messy, and dead tired. But we were smiling. Laughing even. And alive.
We made it.
The boys' laughter echoed faintly from the other hallway, Kaminari shouting something about calling top bunk and Bakugo yelling something definitely aggressive in response.
I let my head fall back against the wood paneling behind me and shut my eyes for a moment.
I could still feel the way the forest had come alive. The way my body moved without hesitation. The way I didn’t have to think about anything — not even him — because I was too busy surviving.
Mina was dancing around barefoot, singing some song off-key while hunting for socks. “I smell curry, and I swear to god, if they run out before I get there—”
“They made enough to feed an army,” Jirou said, brushing out her hair in the corner.
“They are feeding an army,” Tsuyu pointed out, completely deadpan, and honestly she wasn’t wrong.
When we got to the dining area, the smell of spices and warm rice hit me all at once. It was mouthwatering in that way that made you forget how exhausted you were. Tables were packed already, everyone crowding around giant pots of curry, grabbing bowls and plates, all loud and chaotic like a real family dinner.
I squeezed in behind Midoriya, who was already fumbling to balance two bowls of rice while Iida lectured him about posture.
“Careful with that—” I started, and he immediately dropped a spoon onto his own wrist.
“Yep,” I muttered. “Too late.”
I grabbed a bowl for myself and moved down the line, shuffling around the other students like a weird curry obstacle course. The table was narrow, and the crowd was basically shoulder-to-shoulder.
Then I felt someone brush past behind me, grabbing the ladle just before I did.
I looked up.
Bakugo.
Of course.
He didn’t say anything, just scooped up a mountain of curry and dumped it into his bowl like it owed him money. He handed me the ladle after, his hand brushing mine for half a second, and neither of us flinched.
We were close. Not emotionally — not anymore. But… familiar.
We knew the rhythm of each other. How to move around without knocking elbows. How to pass a bowl at the right time. How to not step on each other’s feet even in a crowd.
He reached for the naan before I did, ripped two pieces, and handed me one without looking.
“Thanks,” I said.
He grunted, “Yeah.”
It was normal. Maybe too normal. Like we hadn’t just broken up in a burst of emotional disaster. Like I hadn’t cried in the training center two days ago.
I moved around him to grab a spoon and passed him the tongs for the pickled radish without asking. He took them without a word.
There was no tension. Just that weird, quiet understanding we’d always had. A shared orbit.
Sitting next to him at dinner wasn’t awkward either. Not really.
He grumbled at Kaminari for spilling water. Threatened to kill Sero for stealing the last boiled egg. Ate like the food was trying to escape him.
And I laughed when Kirishima dared him to go back for thirds and he did without hesitation.
It wasn’t like we were together. But it didn’t feel like we were strangers either.
And maybe that was okay.
“Oi,” Bakugo said, nudging my bowl with his chopsticks. “You didn’t even eat half. What’s wrong with you?”
“I’m pacing myself,” I said.
“Pace faster,” he muttered, going back to his own food.
I rolled my eyes. “You’re bossy.”
“You’re slow.”
I snorted and stuffed a bite of rice in my mouth, ignoring the way Mina was watching us from across the table, eyebrows raised, like she had questions.
Let her wonder.
Dinner was good.
---
The lights in the girls’ room were dimmed, the moon casting long lines across the wood floor through the narrow windows. Everyone was sprawled out, already half-asleep or pretending to be. The air was warm and heavy with leftover laughter from earlier.
Jirou was in the bunk above me, earbuds in. Tsuyu was already asleep, curled up like a cat. Someone’s phone buzzed and got immediately smacked into silence.
I lay on my side, facing the wall, blanket kicked halfway off my legs.
Mina was brushing her hair out beside me, still in her little star-print pajama shorts, legs swinging idly off the edge of the bed. She was quieter now — not her usual energy-drink self — but still awake.
“You’re not sleeping either?” she asked softly, not looking at me.
“Not yet,” I mumbled, turning slightly toward her.
She made a quiet sound, not really a word. Then: “Dinner was fun, huh?”
I nodded. “Yeah. The food was good.”
“You and Bakugo didn’t kill each other,” she added casually, still not looking.
I smirked a little. “Would’ve been rude. In front of the curry and all.”
She finally glanced down at me, head tilted, curls falling into her face.
“You know he still likes you, right?”
I blinked. “What?”
She said it like it wasn’t a big deal. Like she was talking about the weather. No weight behind it. No pressure.
That pulled me straight up. I turned to look at her, confused.
She looked back, honest and sure, like she hadn’t just dropped a bomb in the middle of the dark.
“I mean—he hasn’t even talked to me. He was so angry. And then he just—” I cut myself off, shaking my head. “He doesn’t act like someone who still likes me.”
Mina tilted her head. “You stopped sitting with us. He didn’t take it well. I don’t think he expected it.”
I stared at her, eyes narrowing. “He broke up with me.”
“I know,” she said quickly. “I know. But still. You were... you two. And then you were just gone.”
She looked down at her hands, twisting her fingers around each other.
“I was sad too,” she added after a second, a little quieter. “When you left.”
That sat heavy for a second.
I laid back again, tucking the blanket under my chin, staring at the shadows on the ceiling. Mina didn’t say anything else. Neither did I.
Eventually, the quiet stretched long enough that the room felt full of sleep. She rolled over with a sigh, and the rustle of sheets was the only thing left.
But I couldn’t sleep.
Even when the rest of the room drifted off — breaths even, soft murmurs from Jirou above me — I couldn’t settle.
Everything hurt in the quiet. In the way he hadn’t looked at me, hadn’t said anything. Like I wasn’t even there. Like it never happened. He still liked me.. and didn't even talk to me? Ignored me like I was nothing? like we were nothing.
I didn’t mean to cry.
It just happened. Quiet tears that slipped out and soaked the edge of my pillow, useless and hot and fast.
I laid there for almost an hour. Then I couldn’t take it anymore.
I sat up slowly, easing my legs off the bed, careful not to wake anyone. My blanket slid to the floor as I slipped on my hoodie and padded barefoot out of the room.
The hallway was dark. Just one dim light buzzing above the front entrance. I crossed to the boys’ hall quietly, heart pounding, and stopped in front of their door.
I knocked.
No answer.
I knocked again, firmer this time.
The door creaked open slowly, and Sero peeked out, hair flattened on one side, one eye barely open.
He stared at me for a second like he was trying to decide if I was real.
“...Kitamura?”
“Hey,” I said, voice low. “Can you wake Bakugo up?”
He blinked again. “You know it’s, like… one in the morning, right?”
“Yeah,” I said. “I know.”
He rubbed his face with one hand, sighed hard, and opened the door a little wider.
“If he kills me, I’m blaming you.”
Sero left the door cracked and disappeared back inside, mumbling something I couldn’t hear.
I stayed in the hallway.
The floorboards were cool under my feet, the air heavy with that stillness that only happens late at night. Somewhere outside, a cicada buzzed lazily. I wrapped my arms around myself and leaned against the wall.
I don’t know how long it was before I heard the door open again. Maybe two minutes. Maybe twenty.
Bakugo stepped out slowly, rubbing a hand through his already-messy hair, eyes half-lidded with sleep. His sweatpants hung low on his hips, and he didn’t bother putting on a shirt. His voice was still scratchy when he looked at me.
“What?”
Just what.
I blinked at him. “Come walk with me?”
He stared at me a second longer, then sighed, long and low, and ran a hand down his face.
“Fine.”
We stepped outside into the night, the door creaking shut behind us. The air was cool now, mountain-cold and clean. It smelled like pine and dirt and leftover smoke from the fire pits.
We walked down the path that curved toward the woods, the silence dragging between us like a third person.
He didn’t say anything.
I didn’t either — not at first.
I kicked at a rock. “You’re quieter than usual.”
“You woke me up in the middle of the night,” he muttered.
“You’re welcome.”
He snorted softly, and we kept walking.
It was tense. Every second. Every step. Not explosive, not dramatic. Just tight. Pulled too thin. Like if someone said the wrong thing, it would snap.
“You didn’t have to come,” I said eventually.
“I know.”
I glanced at him out of the corner of my eye. “So why did you?”
He didn’t answer right away. His shoulders were tense — the kind of tension he carried when he was holding something in. Something heavy.
He stared off into the woods like something out there was worth looking at.
He let out a breath through his nose. Not a laugh. Not really.
“I didn’t want to hurt you,” he said finally.
His voice was rough again. Not from sleep this time.
I didn’t say anything. Just stood there, arms crossed, heart doing something stupid in my chest.
He looked over at me. Really looked. Eyes tired, jaw clenched like he wanted to punch something and couldn’t.
“I’m sorry,” he said. Just that.
Simple. Quiet. Honest.
And it hurt more than I expected.
I looked down at the dirt between us, swallowed hard, and nodded once.
“I didn’t know what to say. What to do. I just… panicked, I guess.”
“You exploded,” I corrected.
He snorted under his breath. “Yeah. That too.”
I looked at him again. He hadn’t moved, still standing a few feet away like he was trying to give me space but also like he didn’t want to turn around and leave.
He never was good at this part. The soft part. The talking part.
But I wasn’t asking for perfect. I wasn’t even asking for an apology.
I just wanted him to be honest. Even if it came out messy.
“I didn’t tell you because I didn’t trust you,” I said after a moment. “I told you because I did.”
His jaw tightened again, but he didn’t say anything.
“And I didn’t expect you to throw your arms around me and say it didn’t matter,” I added. “I just didn’t think you’d run from it.”
That made him flinch. Subtle, but real.
He looked at me, and there was something raw there. Something that looked a lot like guilt. Like he’d been carrying that moment with him the whole time.
“I wasn’t running,” he said, voice low. “I was—”
“Scared?” I said before he could finish.
He didn’t answer, which was answer enough.
I nodded slowly. “Okay.”
There was a long pause between us after that. Neither of us moved.
Then he shifted his weight, gaze flicking toward the path back to the lodge. “Should get back. Before someone thinks I’ve wandered off into the woods to murder a bear or something.”
I smiled a little. “You’d lose.”
“Hell no, I wouldn’t.”
We didn’t laugh, exactly. But the edge of the night softened just a bit.
He started to turn, then hesitated. “You coming back inside?”
“Not yet,” I said.
He started to turn, like he was going to leave — like that was it.
But then he stopped.
He nodded once… and instead of walking away, he came to sit next to me.
Neither of us said anything. Not for a while. But the longer we sat there, the less distance there was between us. Like we both kept shifting, slowly, barely, until our knees brushed.
I glanced at him, expecting him to move — to say something dumb or get defensive. But he didn’t. He stayed still, breathing evenly, gaze fixed straight ahead.
“I didn’t think you’d still want to talk to me,” I said, voice low.
It wasn’t sudden. Just that slow lean-in, like we’d already done this a hundred times, like we both remembered how. His hand brushed my knee. Mine found the edge of his hoodie sleeve.
And then he kissed me.
It wasn’t rough or rushed. It was careful. Like we were both holding our breath.
It only lasted a second.
But it was enough.
We broke apart slowly, eyes still locked, the air between us warmer now — thicker.
And then—
clunk.
A soft shuffle of feet inside the lodge.
We both froze.
Bakugo muttered something under his breath — probably a swear — and stood up quickly, grabbing my hand to pull me with him. We crept back toward the door, trying not to breathe too loudly, trying not to laugh even though it was kind of ridiculous.
He held the door open for me, eyes flicking down the hallway. The coast was clear.
We slipped inside, no words.
No goodbye.

The training camp!
────୨ৎ────ℂ𝕙𝕒𝕡𝕥𝕖𝕣 16────୨ৎ────
The bus ride came, and I ended up next to Kirishima. A better result than I’d hoped. When the bus started moving, he turned to me–intent on finding something out. “What happened between you and Bakugo? He was really upset and you stopped sitting with us.. I just wanted to make sure everything was okay.” He smiled softly. The manly gods would be proud, hes doing them justice.
“I broke it off–or he did, I don’t really know. But I’m okay.. And he should be too I suppose. Thanks for asking, Kirishima.” I offered him a smile in return and we both laughed as Bakugo started yelling at Mina.
“Of course- I mean that’s what friends do.” He said, and patted my shoulder.
“Sorry if I snore- I’ve been told I do when I’m really tired.” He said, as he leaned against the window next to him.
“It’s fine- ill just jab you in the side.”
he bus rolled steadily along the winding road, warm sunlight spilling in through the windows as the trees outside blurred into green streaks. Kirishima eventually dozed off like he warned he would — mouth slightly open, cheek pressed to the glass. I smiled to myself and let the silence settle in.
The others were still chatting or half asleep. Mina and Kaminari were arguing over which flavor of chips was superior. Sero chimed in just to make things worse. Iida was trying — and failing — to get everyone to keep the noise down. And somewhere near the back, Bakugo was already annoyed about something. I didn’t even need to look.
I kept my eyes forward.
Eventually, the bus pulled to a stop in the mountains, and Aizawa stood up with his usual enthusiasm — which was to say, none.
“We’re here,” he said, monotone. “Time to stretch your legs.”
We stepped off, greeted by the wide open air and the crunch of gravel beneath our feet. It smelled like pine and sunshine, and for a moment I let myself enjoy the quiet.
Then two unfamiliar figures approached — a woman in a bright blue costume with paw prints and a huge grin, and another with sharper features and a more unimpressed expression.
“Welcome to your training camp!” the cheerful one announced, striking a pose. “We’re the Pussycats!”
A few people clapped, half-confused. Aizawa looked tired just being near them.
“Sightseeing first,” he said blandly. “You’ll be hiking to the facility.”
“What?” Kaminari blinked. “We just got off the bus—”
Before anyone could properly protest, the ground shifted beneath our feet, suddenly churning like water. I barely had time to react before the cliffside gave out beneath us, and we were all falling.
I landed hard on packed dirt and rocks, wind knocked out of me. Branches scratched at my arms as I scrambled to my feet.
“That’s your challenge,” one of the Pussycats called from the ridge above, hands glowing with quirk energy. “Make it to the facility! And be quick — there are villains waiting!”
“Villains?!” Kaminari yelped, already charging his quirk out of panic.
“They’re fake,” I muttered, scanning the terrain. “I hope.”
But they didn’t feel fake.
The second we started moving, the first wave of mud monsters rose from the trees — all sludge and snarling teeth. They weren’t real people, but they weren’t exactly harmless either.
I braced myself, quirking instinctively — vanishing in a blink to higher ground, getting a better view.
That’s when I saw him.
Katsuki.
He was furious, which was basically normal for him, but this was different. He launched forward with a growl, palms exploding as he blasted through two of the creatures without hesitation. The force of his quirk echoed off the trees like thunder, lighting up the shadows.
And he looked good — sharp, fast, brutal. There was nothing hesitant in the way he moved. Nothing soft. He was born for this.
I froze for half a second too long, watching him tear through the mud villains like they were paper. My stomach twisted. Not because I was scared. Not even because I was impressed.
Because even now — even after — some part of me still admired him. Still felt something.
He caught me looking.
Just for a second — just a flick of red eyes over his shoulder, just a crease in his brow. Then he turned and kept moving, already on to the next threat.
I swallowed hard and dropped back into the fight.
This wasn’t the time to feel anything.
It was time to prove I belonged here — whether he believed it or not.
The forest was chaos.
Not the kind that sent you running — but the kind that made your heart race, your instincts sharpen, your blood feel like it was humming under your skin.
The mud villains kept coming, rising from the ground like twisted puppets. Their movements weren’t random, either — they were fast, targeted, relentless. Which meant this wasn’t just some endurance hike.
This was a test.
I landed beside Midoriya, breathless, the air hot and damp around us. He gave me a quick nod — the kind that said you good? — and I nodded back before we both split in different directions. No time for words.
I blinked out of one villain’s reach just as it lunged, reappearing behind it. My fingers grazed its shoulder before I released a shockwave from my palm, dissolving the sludge in an instant. I’d been practicing that — timing the teleport just right so I could strike before they even realized I was gone.
Tsuyu leapt down from a tree branch above me, landing with quiet ease.
“You’re really good at that,” she said calmly, flicking her tongue to grab the leg of another creature and slamming it into the ground.
“Thanks,” I said, panting. “Trying to be useful.”
“You are,” she said simply.
We pushed forward, regrouping with Uraraka and Sero, who were both holding off a cluster near the river bend. I coordinated with them quickly, teleporting into blind spots and using their attacks to back me up. It wasn’t flashy, but it worked.
And it felt good.
From time to time, I’d hear the boom of an explosion behind us. Always loud. Always unmistakable.
Bakugo.
I avoided his part of the forest on purpose. Every time I felt his presence nearby, I moved a different way. Teleported to the left instead of the right. Focused on helping Kaminari charge a shock wave instead of catching the glance I could feel burning through the trees.
I didn’t want to see him. Not now.
But I knew he saw me.
Because when I slipped past him — quick, silent, efficient — and took out the mud villain he had just missed, I caught the way he froze for half a second. The way his shoulders tensed when I teleported in, struck fast, and vanished again before he could say anything.
And when I heard him growl, “Tch. Show off,” under his breath?
I smiled to myself.
Let him see.
I didn’t need him to believe in me anymore.
I believed in me.
“KITAMURA, BEHIND YOU!” Mina’s voice snapped through the trees, and I whirled just in time to see one of the larger creatures lunging from the shadows. I reached for my power — blinked out of the way — and reappeared mid-air above it.
I let go.
A burst of energy slammed down from my hands, ripping through the creature and shaking the ground beneath it.
It didn’t get back up.
I landed hard, rolled once, and came up gasping.
The others whooped in the distance, voices echoing through the trees. I didn’t even know who saw it. I just knew it felt right.
Mina caught up to me, breathing hard, cheeks flushed. “Okay, that was awesome. Like full-on cinematic.”
I laughed. “You’re just saying that because I saved you.”
“No, I’m saying that because you made it look cool.”
We regrouped again, rallying toward the ridge where the facility sat in the distance. The final leg of the “sightseeing tour,” apparently.
Everyone was tired. Covered in dirt, scraped, panting. But alive.
And stronger.
As we neared the end of the forest path, I caught sight of him again — Bakugo, shoulders squared, shirt ripped at the sleeve, some dried sludge still clinging to his jaw. He wasn’t looking at me.
But I didn’t need him to.
Because I knew.
He felt me there.
And this time, I didn’t disappear.

The pool water was cold, even under the morning sun. It shocked the sleep right out of me as I slid in, goosebumps rising along my arms despite the heat clinging to the late summer air.
Midoriya was already in the water, goggles on, hair soaked and flat against his forehead. He didn’t say much when I arrived — just gave a quiet “Morning,” and pushed off the edge, starting his next lap without waiting for me.
I dipped under, letting the water rush over my ears, muting everything for a few precious seconds. It felt good, in that sharp, grounding kind of way. Like I could forget, even just for a breath, that the air outside the pool was so much heavier than the water in it.
We were training breath endurance today — holding underwater, pushing our lungs to the limit, controlling panic, managing power under pressure. Not glamorous, not flashy, just necessary.
I surfaced and glanced over. Midoriya was across the lane, arms resting on the edge of the pool, head tilted up like he was lost in thought. His eyes flicked toward me when he noticed I was watching — then quickly looked away.
Okay.
I kicked off the wall and started swimming.
We moved in silence. Lap after lap. Submerge, hold, surface, recover. My chest started to ache somewhere around the sixth, but I kept going. So did he. Focused. Controlled. Efficient.
By the eighth lap, I couldn’t take it.
As I came up for air, I let my hand smack lightly against the pool’s edge. “Okay, what is it?”
He blinked at me. “What do you mean?”
I frowned. “You know what I mean. You’ve barely said a word to me all morning.”
He sighed, then looked away. “Sorry. I just… I don’t know what to say.”
That stung more than I expected.
“You’re already making it worse by saying nothing,” I said, not harshly — just honest.
He nodded, guilt shadowing his face. “You’re right. I’m sorry.”
I pushed off the edge again, slower this time. Let the water swallow me.
I didn’t want pity. I didn’t want space. I just wanted things to stop changing so fast — to have something stay normal.
When I surfaced, Midoriya was beside me again, this time closer. Still not touching, still not smiling — but trying.
“We’ve still got three more laps,” he said gently. “Think you can beat me this time?”
I gave him a small smirk. “I know I can.”
He let out a breath — maybe a laugh, maybe relief — and for a moment, the tension cracked just enough for something familiar to come through.
Maybe everything wasn’t okay yet.
But maybe we could swim through it anyway.
By the time we finished drying off and changing, my limbs were aching in that good, used way. Midoriya walked next to me as we made our way to class, both of us quiet but more at ease than earlier.
He nudged me lightly with his elbow once we reached the hallway. “Thanks for being patient with me.”
I shrugged. “Thanks for remembering how to talk like a human again.”
He grinned, scratching the back of his neck. “Fair.”
The classroom was already buzzing with nervous energy when we stepped in. I spotted Mina bouncing in her seat, Kirishima leaning over to look at someone else’s notes, and Kaminari dramatically slumped across his desk like he’d already failed in spirit.
My stomach twisted a little, nerves setting in, even though I knew I did okay.
Midoriya took his seat beside Uraraka, who gave him a quick thumbs-up. I slid into mine and tapped my pen against the desk, waiting.
Then Aizawa stepped in — somehow looking even more sleep-deprived than usual — and tossed a stack of papers on his desk without ceremony.
“Alright,” he said, dragging his sleeping bag in behind him. “Congrats on passing your exams, except those of you who didn’t.”
A beat.
“But all of you are going to the training camp,” he continued. “Those who failed will just have supplementary lessons while the others are training.”
There was a pause.
Then the room exploded.
Cheers erupted from every corner — desks thudding as people jumped out of their seats. Kaminari nearly fell over his chair in relief. Mina squealed and threw her arms around Sero. Kirishima was grinning like someone who'd just punched a wall and won. Even Todoroki let out a soft breath that might’ve been satisfaction.
I smiled back at my classmates, who were laughing and dancing in their tiny victories.
Mina ran over to me and practically tackled me in her excitement. “You passed, right?! I knew you would!”
I laughed and nodded. “Yeah. Barely, probably, but yeah.”
She pulled me into a hug that smelled like strawberry shampoo and sweat. “We’re gonna crush training camp.”
“Right,” I said, heart lifting just a little. “Can’t wait.”
Midoriya looked back at me from his seat, eyes meeting mine. He gave a small smile — soft and supportive. I returned it, just for a second, before I looked away.
It wasn’t the same without him — the other him — celebrating beside me.

“Alright students, your final exams are next week so I hope you’re all studying hard. If any of you fail you won’t be going to the training camp, so do your best.”
And then Aizawa was napping.
I had gone back to sitting with Midoriya and his friends as Bakugo had practically burned lunch rush to the ground the first time I went to sit with them after.. We had our discussion.
Mina talked to me about it after, but I explained it was okay. Thankfully, I knew Bakugo wasn’t stupid enough to go blabbing to everyone about my.. Awful lineage.
“Hey Kitamura-san! We’re going to study later would you wanna come? It’s going to be at Todoroki’s house!” Iida was cheerful enough–though that was probably to be expected with studying being the topic of this conversation.
“Sounds great, I’ll meet you guys after school?” He nodded, waved stiffly and then was on his way.
After school, I waited just outside the gates, bag slung over one shoulder, phone in hand — not because I had messages to check. Just... something to look at. Something to do instead of thinking about him.
I heard Iida’s distinct run before I even saw him — all sharp lines and punctuality. “Kitamura-san!” he called, waving. “Sorry we’re late, Midoriya forgot his notebook!”
Midoriya flushed a little. “Sorry, sorry, it had all my notes—”
“It’s fine,” I said quickly, forcing a smile. “I’m just glad I didn’t get lost trying to find you guys.”
Todoroki had joined them too, quiet as always, with Uraraka and Tsuyu following behind. Uraraka gave me a warm grin and linked her arm with mine as we started walking.
“We’re glad you’re coming,” she said. “It’s been a while since we all hung out.”
I nodded, trying to return her energy. “Yeah. I’ve... missed this.”
Todoroki’s place wasn’t far. It was massive — of course it was — but warm in a weird, empty kind of way. Big rooms. Tall windows. Expensive silence. He led us to one of the common spaces upstairs, where a low table was already set up with snacks and drinks. Not too fancy. Just thoughtful.
“This okay?” he asked, glancing at me.
“Perfect,” I said.
Everyone settled in quickly — notebooks out, textbooks open, pencils tapping against lined pages. I sat between Tsuyu and Midoriya, trying to focus on the formulas Iida was scribbling on the whiteboard like we were at an actual lecture hall.
“You really don’t have to go that hard,” I said.
“Nonsense!” he declared. “If we want to go to the training camp, we must prepare thoroughly!”
Midoriya nodded beside me, taking notes with quiet intensity. “He’s right. There’s no way of knowing what’ll be on the practical portion either, so we should go over battle tactics too.”
“Great,” Uraraka groaned. “More flashcards.”
We went over math first. Then some science. I didn’t talk much — just highlighted things and listened, the hum of everyone’s voices settling into something almost peaceful. I liked this. I’d forgotten how easy it was to exist in a space without pressure. Without walking on eggshells.
Still, every now and then, I’d feel it again — that hollow ache in my chest that pulsed right where his name used to sit.
I glanced at the empty spot across the room. No explosions. No sarcasm. No short, sharp glances that said way more than he’d ever admit.
He should’ve been here too.
It was stupid, but I kept thinking about how he used to stare at his papers like they’d wronged him personally. Or the way he’d grumble under his breath but still ace everything. I missed that. I missed him.
But he didn’t want to be near me. Not after finding out.
“Hey,” Midoriya said softly beside me. “You doing okay?”
I blinked, startled out of the spiral. “Yeah. Just... tired.”
He nodded like he didn’t fully believe me, but respected that I wasn’t ready to say more.
We broke for snacks after an hour or two, everyone stretching out on the plush rug or leaning back against the couch. Uraraka was humming some pop song. Tsuyu had her head in a book again. Iida was reviewing flashcards for fun, of course.
Todoroki handed me a bottle of water and sat next to me, legs crossed casually.
“You’re keeping up well,” he said. “Even if your mind’s elsewhere.”
I glanced at him. “Is it that obvious?”
He looked at me, and for a moment, I could tell — he knew. About me. About Bakugo. About all of it.
“Not to them,” he said. “But I’ve been there too. The being left part.”
I looked down at the bottle in my hands. “It sucks.”
“Yeah. It does.”
He didn’t offer advice. Didn’t try to fix it. Just sat with me until Uraraka shouted something about someone cheating at a quiz game Iida was determined to win. Slowly, we drifted back into the group, like nothing had broken. Like I wasn’t still trying to hold my pieces together.
---
It was past sunset when we finally wrapped things up.
Todoroki stood by the door, handing out neatly packed leftovers and thanking us like we hadn’t all taken over his house for half a day. Midoriya offered to help him clean up, of course. Uraraka gave me a quick hug and promised we’d do this again soon. Tsuyu gave me a calm little wave before heading off in her own direction.
I slung my bag over my shoulder, lingering at the gate a second longer than necessary. The air was cool now, summer clinging to the last stretch of daylight. Iida fell into step beside me with his usual purposeful stride.
“I’ll walk you to the station!” he said, giving a small, polite bow. “It’s on my way.”
I smiled, tugging my sleeves down over my hands. “Sure. Thanks.”
Streetlights blinked on one by one as we passed, casting long shadows on the pavement.
“You were quieter than usual today,” Iida said eventually, his voice gentle, not accusing. “I hope nothing’s wrong.”
I hesitated. “No, it’s nothing. Just tired.”
He looked over at me, brow slightly furrowed behind his glasses. “You know, I’m not the most emotionally intuitive person… but even I can tell something’s bothering you.”
We turned the corner, the station sign coming into view just ahead. I could hear the distant rattle of a train arriving, the buzz of life moving on without me.
“You don’t have to talk about it if you’re not ready,” Iida said, slowing his pace a little so I didn’t feel rushed. “But if you ever need someone to listen… I don’t judge.”
I smiled, this time softer. Real. “Thank you, Iida.”
He gave a quick, awkward nod — almost like he didn’t know what to do with that kind of moment — and adjusted his glasses.
The train pulled in just as we reached the stairs. I turned to him before heading down.
“I’ll see you tomorrow?”
“Of course! And, Miya…” he paused, thoughtful. “Whatever it is… you’ll get through it. You’re stronger than you think.”
I nodded. Didn’t say anything back. Just gave him one last look before descending into the glow of the station, the ache in my chest still there — quiet, but constant.
But it helped, a little.
Even if he didn’t know the full story… it helped to not feel so alone.

He stumbled back, hands raised as he knocked over things to get away from me. “Are you fucking kidding? Do they know?”
“I basically have a gag order. I’m not supposed to tell anyone or they’d freak out. Just like you.”
“You tell me this now?” His face was horrified, beyond scared- beyond disgusted.
“What would it change?”
“A lot. You- if you got- fuck- it would be his grandkid- that’s fucked. Why the hell are you telling me this now?”
“They cleared me.. They know I’m not a spy.”
“That’s the least of my worries! You’ve seen him- it would only take you snapping before we have two fucking all for ones. That’s why you beat everyone- why your quirk was so strong. It’s his.”
“ITS NOT MY FAULT I WAS BORN LIKE THIS! BORN TO HIM!” He shook his head.
“You realise that if your power gets passed on or mutated or you get under the wrong person’s control- we are all fucked. The entire world.”
“I have to go. Don’t contact me.” And then he was grabbing his stuff and leaving.
“Katsuki-”
“Don’t you fucking call me that- i don’t even know who you are.”
“You never gave us the chance!”
He scoffed. “Good. I don’t want to be in contact with someone of his lineage.”
At least he didn’t slam the door on his way out.
I cried for hours after he left.
The strong feelings I felt for him–that I know he felt too.
The shitty-ness of it all- the situation, my father, the future.
All of it was wrong. I cried, and cried and cried until I started throwing up, and when mother got home she came rushing in and rubbed my back as I cried and threw up more.
I hated that I had let it get this bad- that I had become so upset over him that I’d caused myself to get ill.
How could I have ever thought someone like me deserved love?
He had broken down my walls in his own weird ways, showed me he cared, made me so fucking happy.
---
The next morning my eyes were red and puffy beyond belief, and I almost contemplated begging my mother to let me stay home.
But all for one wouldn’t stop killing if they begged because there eyes were puffy.
No- my training was more important than how I looked.
When I arrived at the training ground, All might and Midoriya were there waiting. “Good morning young Kitamura! Wh- what happened to your eyes?” All might said, by my side and patting my shoulder.
“Allergies, sorry.” He raised his eyebrow but didn’t question it further.
“Today you two will be doing some track stuff, and then working on your quirks. I want to increase your stamina so you don’t get tired as easily in battle.”
He set us up doing laps and laps of the track until we felt like we were dying. At the last lap, we were both barely running, but then Midoriya screamed out and started sprinting toward the finish line.
I followed suit and sprinted after him. I managed to tie with him, and as soon as we stopped we both collapsed onto the ground. “Midoriya- are you dizzy right now?” He let out a strangled ‘uhuh’ as we lay there.
The sun was harsh today. Everything felt too bright. Too loud. Like the world didn’t care that mine had just cracked wide open.
I wiped sweat off my face with the back of my hand, breathing harder than I should’ve been. Midoriya stood a few feet away, panting too, hands on his knees. He looked at me like he wanted to say something comforting — but thank god, he didn’t.
Then All Might brought us water and sat idly as we recovered. His smile was softer than usual, his eyes full of things he wasn’t saying. He knew. They both knew.
Yesterday, I told Katsuki the truth.
And now he’s gone.
Alright,” All Might said, clapping his hands once, like it could shatter the tension. “Quirk training. Your task: use your current skills to defeat the other. Strategize. Adapt. Push yourselves.”
He gave me a nod that was more like a silent question: Are you okay to do this?
I didn’t nod back. Just stepped into position across from Midoriya and set my jaw.
He hesitated. “Miya, we don’t have to—”
“I’m fine,” I said, sharper than I meant to. “Let’s go.”
He nodded slowly, activating One for All with a flicker of green lightning. I felt the shift inside me, my own quirk humming at the edge of my control — always waiting, always his. But I wasn’t him. I wasn’t him.
My father doesn’t get to decide who I am.
Midoriya came in first, quick but not too fast — testing me. I let him. Let him think I was slow today, off my game. Let him get close enough before I blinked out of sight — teleportation, one of the abilities I’d inherited without asking.
He spun, eyes wide, but I’d already reappeared behind him, hand grazing his shoulder before I vanished again.
“Not bad,” he muttered, spinning in place. “Still unpredictable.”
I felt the corner of my mouth twitch — not a smile, but close. “Isn’t that the point?”
We kept going like that. Back and forth. Strike, dodge, disappear, counter. Midoriya was kind, even in combat. Careful. Like he didn’t want to hurt me. But today… I kind of wanted to be hurt. Just enough to feel something else.
Every time I paused too long, too distracted, he noticed.
Every time he hesitated, I caught it.
All Might watched from the sidelines, arms crossed. I knew he was reading more into this than just sparring. He always did.
ventually we both dropped into the sand, breathless and sweating. I pressed my forehead to my knees and shut my eyes.
It should’ve felt good to train. Should’ve helped. But everything in my chest was still so heavy.
He looked me in the eyes when I told him. I was shaking. And he just said—
“I can’t do this.”
Like I was a threat. Like I was a weapon that could go off at any second.
Like him.
Midoriya sat beside me in the dirt, not close, but close enough.
“He’s scared,” he said gently. “That doesn’t mean he stopped caring.”
All Might came over then, handing us both another bottle of water. He didn’t say anything for a while — just sat with us, the three of us sweaty and silent under the sun.
Finally, he spoke.
“Being born from something dark doesn’t mean you’ll stay there, Miya,” he said, voice low. “But it’s up to you to prove it.”
I looked at him, eyes burning. “How many times do I have to prove I’m not him?”
“As many as it takes,” he said simply. “Until you believe it.”
Midoriya stayed quiet, but he gave me a look. Not pity — something warmer. Like maybe, just maybe, he saw the fight in me even when I didn’t.
I looked back at the open training field. My fists clenched.
If Katsuki was going to leave, I’d let him.

short chapter this time.. I couldn't resist the cliffhanger. Sorry y'all!
────୨ৎ────ℂ𝕙𝕒𝕡𝕥𝕖𝕣 12────୨ৎ────
Once school was back in session, I had way less time to see Katsuki. I had tons of assignments and preparation to do for our exams, and I had training every morning with Midoriya. The only time we ever saw each other was during lunch or class–or the weekends.
After a while of seeing him I realised that hanging out with him was a rift in my judgement, and it wasn’t as important as the things I had waiting for me in the future. If Midoriya and I didn’t become strong enough then we would never be able to defeat all for one.
As I was walking to class after training one morning, Katsuki pulled me aside. “Why have you been avoiding me?” He murmured, his red eyes filled with concern.
“I haven’t- I’ve just been busy.”
He scoffed, “bullshit. You go straight home after school everyday- I get if you’re avoiding me, but at least give me a reason.” He shoved his hands in his pockets, leaning against a wall in the hallway.
“Well I don’t just wanna be a girl you use for sex. I’m worth more than that. I’m not gonna take time out of my day so you can have your way with me and leave.”
I hadn’t noticed how harsh my words were until I looked up at his face. Pain was written all over it.
“You think I’m using you?” He whispered, holding eye contact. “I would never dream of using you. I just thought that- with everything that’s going on- and.. Becoming heroes…”
“You wanted some stress-free, non-committal sex?”
“No! I wanted to keep you safe..”
“Oh please- I know what’s good for me. And that’s certainly not casual sex” I scoffed, raising an eyebrow at him
“Date me then.” he stuffed his hands in his pockets, staring right at me.
“What?”
“Did I stutter?” his gaze firmly held mine, and I hardly knew what to say.. Or where to look.
“Date.. you?”
Flashes of my father appeared before me. Being involved with me was too dangerous. Memories of Midoriya telling me about All mights predecessor, Shimura, and how she adopted out her son so that he wouldn’t be at risk of falling into all for ones hands.
How could I be so stupid? So selfish? I couldn't date him.
I had to keep him safe. From me, my past, maybe even my future.
I would hate to imagine what I would do if the league of villains got their hands on Katsuki.
“I can’t.” I murmured, looking down at the floor.
“what?”
“You wanna know the truth about why I train with Midoriya?” I raised my eyes to his again.
He didn’t answer. He probably didn't want to know.
“It’s because I’m the only other person in this world who could stop all for one.” His brows furrowed in confusion.
“What does that mean?”
“I’m all for one’s daughter.”

The sun was already beating down by the time we got to the beach. Mina had somehow managed to rally everyone before noon — a miracle in itself. Kirishima and Sero were wrestling over the last bag of chips, half their stuff still scattered across the sand, while Kaminari stood shirtless and smug, trying way too hard to look casual with his sunglasses tilted just low enough to show off his eyes.
Mina ran up to me the second she spotted us, practically tackling me in a hug. “You came!!” she shrieked, looking between me and Bakugo with this wide, knowing smile. “And you,” she pointed at him, “look like you're actually in a good mood for once.”
“Tch,” he grunted, shoving his hands in his pockets. “Shut it.”
But he didn’t sound mad.
We set up near the water, everyone dumping their towels and bags in a loose circle. I laid mine out and flopped onto it, letting the sun soak into my skin. Katsuki sat next to me, legs stretched out, sunglasses pushed up into his hair — yeah, he brought sunglasses, and no, I’m still not over that.
Mina was already halfway to dragging me into the water when Kaminari and Sero grabbed her and tossed her in instead. She shrieked like she was being murdered and came up laughing, hair stuck to her face. “You idiots!!” she yelled, splashing them both like a human sprinkler.
“Come on, Miya!” Kirishima called, already chest-deep. “The water’s perfect!”
I glanced back at Katsuki. He was leaning back on his elbows, watching me, eyes half-lidded but attentive. “Go ahead,” he said, smirking a little. “I’ll be right here.”
It was dumb how something that simple made my stomach twist.
I ran toward the water, screaming when the cold hit my ankles, but it felt good. Kaminari swam past like a human torpedo, trying to splash as many people as possible. Sero tried to dunk Kirishima and failed miserably — the guy was a literal boulder in the water.
Eventually, even Bakugo wandered in, his arms crossed like he wasn’t already soaked. He stood beside me, our shoulders brushing, until Mina swam up and whispered something to him that made him scowl and splash her straight in the face.
She sputtered, “I knew you had feelings!”
Katsuki turned away like he was done with the conversation, but his hand brushed against mine under the water. Not holding it — just enough to say I’m here.
Later, as the sun started dipping and the sky turned gold, we all collapsed into the sand in a messy circle, eating the half-soggy sandwiches Kirishima brought and arguing about who had the best cannonball. Kaminari kept throwing grapes at Sero, and Mina was already planning the next hangout.
Katsuki sat close, close enough that his knee was against mine, and he didn’t move away. I didn’t either.
--
The sky was streaked in soft pinks and oranges by the time we started packing up. The tide had crept in, washing away the sandcastles Kaminari and Sero had built just to knock over. Mina was still trying to convince everyone to stop for ice cream, and Kirishima was yawning like he hadn’t just claimed he could stay out all night.
“Alright, alright,” Sero said, slinging his towel over his shoulder. “This was fun, but I think my entire body is made of sunburn now.”
“You didn’t use sunscreen?” I raised an eyebrow.
“I thought I did,” he muttered, lifting his shirt to reveal a bright red stomach. “But clearly the universe hates me.”
We all started saying our goodbyes, slowly and lazily, like none of us really wanted to leave just yet. Mina hugged me tight and whispered, “Text me everything,” with a wink before skipping off with Kaminari and Sero in tow. Kirishima gave Katsuki a slap on the back that was definitely too hard, and he just grunted in return.
Once everyone else was gone, it was just me and Katsuki left, standing in the cooling sand. I pulled my hoodie over my head and picked up my bag, brushing the sand off my legs.
“I can walk home,” I said, glancing at him. “You don’t have to—”
“I’m walking you home,” he said, like it wasn’t even a question.
I blinked. “Okay.”
The boardwalk was quiet, the sounds of the ocean behind us soft and slow. Our shadows stretched long in front of us, side by side. Neither of us said much at first. It wasn’t awkward — just...comfortable.
A beat passed. Then another.
“I don’t want you to think I’m just using you,” he said, voice low. “I know it’s felt like that. I just… didn’t know what the hell we were. I’m not good at this shit.”
“I know,” I said. “But it still kinda hurt.”
He exhaled through his nose, like he was frustrated — at himself, not me. “I get it. I’m trying, Miya.”
I searched his face. The set of his jaw, the way his eyes softened even if he didn’t want them to. He was trying. In his own, messy way.
“I know you are,” I said quietly. “I see it.”
We stood there for a moment before he reached out, hesitantly, and took my hand.
My heart did something stupid in my chest, but I didn’t pull away. I didn’t want to.
“Come on,” he said, tugging me gently forward. “Let’s get you home.”
