So yesterday while I was out getting groceries and meds, the brakes on my car stopped working like they're supposed to. My car is now no longer safe to drive, and I nearly crashed several times while trying to get home. The most likely issue is my brake pads, which will cost several hundred dollars [likely ~$300+] that I don't have between parts, labor, and towing charges to get it fixed.

Since I don't have the money for repairs, I won't be able to get to appointments or run errands for who knows how long. Public transport is so poor where I live that it might as well not exist. Thankfully, I at least work from home, so that won't be impacted.

The point here is; I'm asking for help to get my car fixed. I have commissions, adopts, a handmade items shop, and a Ko-fi for donations. Comms and adopts will be discounted to hopefully make it easier to raise the needed funds. If you're unable to buy or donate, reblogs are greatly appreciated!

There's something to be said about how smut books enjoyed/written in large part by women are like always deemed as not "real" books. The sexual elements when not written by a cishet man make it not "real" art, the primary audience being women means it's not "real" reading and just rotting your brain etc etc.

Not to mention people often just shit on rape fantasies in these books without realizing it's in connection to how society at large tells women they can't willingly engage with sex or enjoy it the way their male counterparts can. Yanno, the purity bullshit. Rape fantasies are so fucking popular in romance targeted at primarily women because of this and how fiction is a safe way to explore since it can be put down at any time.

When stats show less adults are reading than before and more people are worse at reading comprehension/media literacy than previous years, I truly don't care what gets people excited about reading again, regardless if it's my personal cup of tea or not.

Oooooh, I despise this.

This was shared in one of my monster groups on Facebook and I originally thought it was going to read something like "when you get her a new book but it's the wrong one" or whatever.

But this???? An "actual" book?

Like one written by a man who barely disguises his fetish?

Or one where women are used solely as a plot device for the men's stories?
