All the playable shapes are very much aware of the player itself and would sometimes swear to the player if they either keep getting hit/dying over and over again. The game however automatically filters this out so you'll only see small emojis popping up on their sides.

And yes, they're also aware that time itself rewinds if they die and it made them numb enough that even with Blixer shattering them in the end doesn't bother them much as they know they'll be revived no matter what. Talk about plot armour.
