When something that is, on its surface level 'bad' happens to you and once the initial shock wears off, you realise you feel better than you have in a while, a weight's lifted, the anxiety is gone, the squeeze around your brain of pressure has just vanished, the performance is done and you can just rest now.

In hindsight, when you confide in a friend about losing your job you've had for well over ten years (and love) and their response is to say "well you don't strike me as someone with much ambition anyway" and then move the subject along, that's a level of red flag ignoring that should be legible for the Olympics.

Our two year dnd campaign has come to a premature end, but our DM was gracious enough to fill us in on all the storylines we'd started and all the questions we had, so i'm currently processing the fact that my boy, Ven, was never going to make it to the end of this campaign based on his own choices and feelings and the things he experienced and learned along the road. And while the emotional bullet was technically dodged, the feral artist in me wants to draw ALL the big sads.
