im kind of sad that like we dont really have that much control over our own physical selves in a deeply fundamental way. what i mean is that nearly everything about our bodies is pre-determined by factors beyond our control, and for the most part there is very little that can be done about this. everybody is just given a body they never choose! and of course a lot of people are happy with their bodies, and like thats obviously great for them, but like, even though theyre happy i do think that theres a bit of unfairness that nobody really has much control.
before making this post i was mainly thinking about more trivial things, like hair color, but when i think about this more i realize this is a bit of much more extensive problem. a lot of serious medical conditions like chromosomal disorders and even cancer are just given to people regardless of how they feel. to me, i guess, its just a bit ironic, in a sense, and certainly quite cruel. existentially, i mean
