Week 18
This week we had our final examination for the Software Design and Engineering course. The moment is so fulfilling as a computer engineering student because at last, this is the final exam from a long journey.
Before that day, Sir Carl told us to wear any headband with a different design from our choice for a plus points so I came up with the design "PASAR LAGI". It was like manifesting the good energy of having a good grade. I studied though but I don't think the time I spent on studying is enough because there are still questions that are confusing and luckily got a passing score so WRAP IT UP BOYZZ!!!

Week 17
Week 17 was the presentation of 70 percent of the website with the front end and back end. The thing is it did not go the way the group wanted because when we presented our output, there was an error on the backend connected to where it should be and it consumed so much time so Sir Carl told us to present the output on the other day to configure the error and make the presentation smooth. On the said day of the presentation, we went to Sir Carl on the LRC building of the university and we presented it to him and Sir Carl gave a grade.

Week 16
This week was another topic that Sir Carl discussed. It was all about Data Visualization and this topic allowed us to know how to visualize data using graphs like line graphs, bar graphs, pie graphs, and other visualization patterns. This would help us on how can we present our data on our website development the way it should be to make it more understandable for us to know what action should we take for the development of the project.

Week 15
For this week, we presented our front end to Sir Carl and at the same time a consultation for our manuscript. He gave us a hint on what we need to work on for the script and he added some advice on how can we make sure that our front end will not look funny at the same time user friendly. Such a great time and a good experience from the moment that we stepped in, it was to show our hard work on the front end and Sir Carl amazingly liked it not like the Figma UI/UX.

Week 14
This week we had our part 2 of the quiz but Sir Carl made it short since we have topics still to discuss. A lot of pressure again but at the same time filled with joy and love because there are people around sharing the same feeling and you know that you are not alone.

Week 12 - 13
For this week, Sir Carl gave us an online quiz before the holidays and we focused more on developing the front end since it is crucial for our website since this will test the customers to catch their eyes just by seeing visuals from our landing page… Aside from that, we worked also on the About page, this is where you can see the developer's names and contacts. It was tiring but also coated with satisfying moments.

Week 11
Hello peepz, medyo nadugayan… It's been days since I updated my blog site haha. We dived into week 11 by joining the orientation via Zoom about Software Development and Design Thinking and Sir Carl was the one who invited us to join. It was a good experience knowing that there were other students from another universities that also eager to learn more about the topic. More topics are tackled like web development and design thinking to perform a good output.

Week 10
For the whole of week 10, we spent our time finishing our UI/UX design and yesterday, March 28th, was all about the final presentation of our system design using Figma. We presented our interactive Figma design with flow and system interface to 3 panelists including our instructor, Sir Carl. It was nerve-wracking at first, but also exciting to finally show what we’ve been working on. I tried to explain the design choices we made in the admin section, like the placement of elements and navigation structure.

Each of the three panelists gave us their feedback. Some suggestions were about improving visuals, adjusting font sizes for better readability, and the color combination to complement each other. Some suggestions are for the function of the buttons. Sir Carl focuses on our use case diagram and he suggested what we need to revise to come up with a good product in the finals. The panelists helped us visualize the system better. It was a good experience, and I’m glad we had the chance to present.

Week 9
This week was all about finals, and honestly, it felt like everything I learned throughout the term was all scrambled up in my head. I had to review multiple topics, especially the ones I wasn’t too confident. There are two parts of the exam, part 1 is multiple choice and identification for part 2. I tried my best to stay calm and break down each question carefully but the identification part was tough since the questions were situational and required analysis to come up with the correct answer.

(currently accepting prayers)

Now that exams are done, it feels like a huge weight has been lifted. Just hoping the results reflect the effort I put in! Photos are not mine, ctto.

Week 8
This week, we were invited to a Figma workshop where we explored the basics of UI/UX design. We were introduced to frames, components, and prototyping. Figma is not new to me, but I think I need more knowledge to fully utilize its features. The instructor gave us an activity to make a landing page of the system like a can be a solution to a specific problem in our world, which helped us apply what we learned during the session. It was a bit overwhelming at first, but once I got the hang of it, it was fun playing around with the design tools.

What I liked the most was seeing how small design decisions like font size or button color can affect the whole look and feel of a page.

Week 7
On March 5, we had quiz 2 covering the topics 3 and 4. Part 1 is multiple choice like in quiz 1 and I don't know if I pulled that one off but part 2 was not that bad since the questions were all about the diagrams that we tackled and I provided the requirement for each of the problems with the diagram.

tough!!!

Week 6
This was last February 26. The first thing we did was Sir Carl prepared a game for us called "Rebus Puzzles", it is an ice breaker game because early in the morning Sir Carl noticed that some of us were sleepy and maybe not yet ready to engage with the new topics. After that, Sir Carl proceeded to our new topic which is all about the UI/UX design in Figma for us to prepare for our system.

After the discussion, another group activity was given and this activity was to identify which good and bad designs are and to manipulate, and provide solutions like suggesting another feature for that specific design to look even better. That activity was good and essential for us to be able to know what designs, colors, fonts, font sizes, or other features we should put in our design to look more engaging.

Week 5
On February 19, the first thing we did was each group reported on the case studies that were given to us since we had yet to finish them. Then, after all the reporting, Sir Carl proceeded to topic 3 which is the topic about diagrams in preparation for our system development. He also returns the empathy map activity so that we can reflect on our efforts in that activity.

Week 4
It's me again, sorry for the late post. So we had our first quiz in midterm last February 12. Part 1 of the quiz was multiple choices, I had a hard time identifying the answers because there were some I wasn't familiar with but still managed and I don't think I pulled that off. I don't know about the others maybe they got a high score. Part 2 of the quiz was a bit tricky for me since the quiz was identification and you needed to explain your answers and it was tough, lol. There was a part of the quiz that required me to create a diagram. Anyway, that's what happened in Week 4 and we just updated our interview questions.

(kayod kay naa pa'y part 2)

are we good, boys?

Week 3
We were supposed to have a class last February 5 but Sir Carl had something urgent to do, so he left us with activities to complete, which were due on February 7, and Chapter 1 of our study manuscript, which was due on February 8. The first activity was an empathy map, which required us to have a partner since we needed to interview each other. For the manuscript, we had to collaborate with our group members again to ensure a good output and complete the task. We had so much fun although we slightly struggled since we had other activities to do in other subjects but we passed it on the day of the due date.
That’s basically what happened in Week 3. We’re looking forward to more activities and possible additions to our manuscript to proceed to the next step in our web development journey.

Week 2
On day 2 of week 2, we had our lecture class with Sir Carl. He taught us about an introduction to SDE before we went into the deeper parts of web development, the processes of making the system, like the waterfall chart, and other things that are connected. After that, we had a group exercise in which each group was assigned a particular case study, and we were to determine all the components that aligned with project management procedures. Through group effort, we made a Canva presentation and passed it to Sir Carl.

Week 2
This is week 2, 21st of January. We've already come up with the plan and idea of the topic problem and how we can approach the problem and this is the day we proposed it to our instructor, Sir Carl. So the proposed system was all about how can we help all the junk shop owners advertise their products and how can they find products from other junk shop owners. We've come up with this idea to help find the easiest way to transact. We answered all the questions that Sir Carl threw at us and he also suggested other features for our system on how can we make it more unique from other systems. We pulled it off and our system was approved by Sir Carl. Nice work, boys!!
