BONUS WONDERFUL!!! Ok, so actually my first exposure to Gangsta’s Paradise was not the song itself. It was its most well-known parody. Yup, the musical spoof master himself, “Weird” Al Yankovic, released one of Gangsta’s Paradise that traded out the mean streets of Los Angeles, California for the…not as mean streets of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. While the song is still as hilarious and catchy as I remember, it did cause a beef due to a misfire in communication between the two artists but they made up with each other in 2011. Glad to see not all grudges last.

If the Cullens become Amish, would that make is easier to move around in modern day?

No.

The Amish live in very insular communities. Newcomers can't just slip in anonymously and then keep to themselves.

The Cullens depend on anonymity. Oh, they have names and addresses and are known around town, but no one knows them. The kids don't socialize at school, Carlisle appears to have formed no notable friendships at work, and by and by they drift through each small town on their own path, parallel to the one walked by the human inhabitants but not interloping. Among us, but not a part of us.

This would not be feasible in a community such as an Amish community. They would not be able to opt out of the strict societal rules that apply, and there would be too many warning flags popping up once people got too close. They don't eat, they're too pale, they're rock hard and ice cold, they all have yellow eyes, they stay inside the house for days at a time refusing to come out when it's sunny. To say nothing of the scrutiny they would be facing as newcomers. Newcomers who, unless they change the cover story, appear to be in incestuous, extramarital, relationships at that.

They would be fools to try, and if they tried they would not last long.
