Learning Astrology for Beginners
I’ve gotten a few questions about this lately so I decided to compile a list of some of the things that really helped me when I first started getting into astrology! As always, feel free to DM me with any astrology-related questions.
1) Calculate your birth chart using Astro.com.
Make sure you have your accurate birth data! If you don’t know your birth time, try to find your birth certificate or call the hospital you were born in to see if they have a record of it. Your birth chart will be your most powerful tool in learning astrology, so accuracy is super important.
2) Start collecting birth data from your friends, family members, and celebrities!
Being able to reference charts other than just your own is super important because it allows you to recognize patterns and common threads between placements. Plus, it can help you better understand the people in your life and form better relationships with them!
3) Read.
I don’t recommend getting your information from the internet because most of the time it is inaccurate and the sheer amount of information and conflicting viewpoints can be very overwhelming and confusing. Therefore, investing in a book or two can be super helpful as it provides structure. Some of my favorite beginner astrology books are The Contemporary Astrologer’s Handbook by Sue Tompkins, The Stars Within You by Juliana McCarthy, The Inner Sky by Steven Forrest, and Astrology for the Soul by Jan Spiller.
4) Learn how to use an ephemeris and study transits.
Studying transits on a personal level as well as on a collective level is one of the quickest and most interesting ways to gain knowledge! You can start small by tracking the moon’s movement around your chart and seeing how the sign and house it’s in affects your mood.
5) Listen to astrology podcasts!
Some of my favorites are Stars Like Us with Aliza Kelly, the Astrology Hub Podcast, Intuitive Astrology with Molly McCord, The Cosmic Calling Podcast, and The Astrology Podcast.
6) Take courses, attend webinars, or study under a teacher.
If you are really serious about learning astrology, consider investing in a course! Personally, I am taking classes with Astrology University and it has been so rewarding. There are so many astrology schools out there, you just need to look!
7) Try not to get too overwhelmed!
Astrology can be extremely overwhelming at times, especially as a beginner. Try not to get too overwhelmed by the amount of knowledge you must learn. Take it slow and remember that getting frustrated is a sign that you’re learning!

The Ascendant-Descendant Axis
As you likely already know, your Ascendant sign (also known as your rising sign) says a lot about your personality and how people typically perceive you upon first meeting you. What isn’t talked about as much is your Descendant, though it is still an incredibly important placement. Understanding the opposing nature of your Ascendent and Descendant signs (as they are always in polar signs) can shed a lot of light on how you go about connecting with people and forming relationships.
The philosophy behind the Ascendant-Descendant axis is the idea that opposites attract, even when we’re not necessarily looking for our “opposite.” It just happens. For instance, as a fire dominant person, I tend to attract a lot of earth dominant people into my life. Even though I don’t relate with earth dominant people the way I can relate with fire dominant people, I still desperately need them in my life as they are a comforting, grounding presence and they give me a reality check when I need one. We are all in a constant search for balance, whether this is on a conscious or unconscious level. We tend to attract those who embody the qualities that we have not yet been able to develop within ourselves. While these relationships may be tough or even triggering, they are incredibly powerful in allowing you to evolve and learn from others. Too much of any one element or sign can be very dangerous and unhealthy if not dealt with properly.
Aries Ascendant/Libra Descendant: Upon meeting you, people are likely struck by your independent, direct, straightforward nature. You have a fiery presence and are led by your passion and your initial emotional impulses. You likely attract many Libra dominant or air dominant people as they are meant to show you the importance of being aware of others’ needs and the ability to make compromises for the sake of healthy relationships. These people are also meant to teach you how to take a step back from a situation and look carefully at every option before jumping into any decision too quickly.
Taurus Ascendant/Scorpio Descendant: Upon meeting you, people are likely struck by your grounded, reliable, sensual nature. You are a very dependable person and people feel comforted by your presence. People likely know you by your determination, your stubbornness, and your ability to stay true to your values. You likely attract many Scorpio dominant or water dominant people as they are meant to show you the importance of letting go of what is no longer serving you and seeking greater depth or intensity in your everyday life.
Gemini Ascendant/Sagittarius Descendant: Upon meeting you, people are likely struck by your outgoing, sociable, enthusiastic nature. At your best, you inspire others with your curiosity and your desire to learn about and experience the world around you. You likely attract many Sagittarius dominant or fire dominant people as they are meant to teach you the importance of getting out of your head and learning to trust the universe. These people are also meant to show you how to search for the deeper meaning in everything and to rely more on your intuition when making decisions.
Cancer Ascendant/Capricorn Descendant: Upon meeting you, people are likely struck by your sensitive, intuitive, protective nature. You model the importance of tending to your emotional needs and creating a sense of security and safety in your life to others. You likely attract many Capricorn dominant or earth dominant people as they are meant to teach you the importance of creating firm boundaries. These people are also meant to show you how to ground into the human experience, get back into your body, and create a sense of order and structure in your life.
Leo Ascendant/Aquarius Descendant: Upon meeting you, people are likely struck by your passionate, enthusiastic, heart-centered nature. At your best, you are someone who is probably very in touch with your inner child and have a willingness to pursue whatever makes you feel passionate, excited, and alive. You likely attract many Aquarius dominant or air dominant people as they are meant to show you the importance of objectivity and detachment when making decisions, as our emotions can often cloud our judgement. These people are also meant to teach you that you are just one person out of 7 billion and that everyone deserves their time in the spotlight.
Virgo Ascendant/Pisces Descendant: Upon meeting you, people are likely struck by your practical, down-to-earth, selfless nature. At your best, you deeply care about others and want everyone to feel safe and secure. You also probably have a strong need for perfection and precision. You likely attract many Pisces dominant or water dominant people as they are meant to show you the importance of going with the flow and letting go of your desire for control. These people are also meant to teach you how to trust your intuition and surrender to the ebb and flow of your emotions without judgement.
Libra Ascendant/Aries Descendant: Upon meeting you, people are likely struck by your friendly, outgoing nature. At your best, you are someone who really prioritizes your relationships and is very aware of others’ needs. You likely have a strong desire for peace and harmony and therefore may take on the role of the peacemaker or mediator, or in a more unevolved state, this could also look like codependency or people-pleasing. You likely attract many Aries dominant or fire dominant people as they are meant to teach you the importance of self-awareness and putting your own needs first. These people are also meant to teach you the importance of getting to know who you are outside of your relationships with others and how to assert yourself and set firm boundaries if this is something you struggle with.
Scorpio Ascendant/Taurus Descendant: Upon meeting you, people are likely struck by your intense nature and your strong presence. You are likely someone people either love or hate - there is no in between. At your best, you are incredibly wise and intuitive with a knack for reading people and situations. You likely attract many Taurus dominant or earth dominant people as they are meant to show you the importance of maintaining a sense of stability in your life and appreciating the simple pleasures. You are likely drawn to these people as they are usually very down-to-earth and reliable, which helps balance out your emotionally intense and at times unpredictable nature. These people are also meant to teach you how to maintain a sense of balance and security in your life.
Sagittarius Ascendant/Gemini Descendant: Upon meeting you, people are likely struck by your optimistic, enthusiastic, fun-loving nature. At your best, you  have a hunger for knowledge and new experiences and you inspire others with your optimistic, adventurous spirit. You likely attract many Gemini dominant or air dominant people as they are meant to show you the importance of tending to the details and having a plan before rushing into anything too quickly. These people are also meant to teach you how the most rewarding experiences we have are often the ones we share with others and how to have a healthy balance between your alone time and social time. Lastly, they can show you the importance of being open-minded and recognizing that there are two sides to every story and your beliefs and opinions aren’t any more important than anyone else’s.
Capricorn Ascendant/Cancer Descendant: Upon meeting you, people are likely struck by your hardworking, driven nature. At your best, you set big goals for yourself and do everything in your power to achieve them. You likely attract many Cancer dominant or water dominant people as they are meant to show you the importance of prioritizing your emotional needs. These people are meant to teach you that there is incredible strength in sensitivity and vulnerability and that it’s important to be able to let your guard down once in a while. Cancer dominant or water dominant people can also show you how to let go of your desire for control and structure and learn how to surrender to the ebb and flow of your emotions.
Aquarius Ascendant/Leo Descendant: Upon meeting you, people are likely struck by your friendly, charismatic, intellectual nature. At your best, you embrace the parts of yourself that might seem “weird” or “different” and you inspire others to do the same. You are probably someone who is very intelligent and you may come off as a little aloof or emotionally detached at times. You likely attract many Leo dominant or fire dominant people as they are meant to teach you the importance of taking up space and celebrating your talents and accomplishments. These people are also meant to show you how to follow your heart and pursue what makes you feel excited, passionate, and alive.
Pisces Ascendant/Virgo Descendant: Upon meeting you, people are likely struck by your dreamy, sensitive, idealistic nature. You are probably someone who is very impressionable and very sensitive to your environment and who you’re spending time with. At your best, you adapt to your environment with ease, you are compassionate and loving with a desire for greater peace and harmony, and you are very in tune with your emotions. You likely attract many Virgo dominant or earth dominant people as they are meant to teach you the importance of attending to the more practical aspects of your life, setting boundaries, and staying grounded. These people are also meant to teach you how to get back in your body and stay rooted in reality, as it’s very important for you to create a healthy balance between idealism and reality.

Evolving Through Your Sister Sign
Disclaimer: These interpretations are based on my intuition and what I’ve learned from my study of astrology so far. Let go of anything that doesn’t resonate as everyone’s chart is different and every placement can manifest in a variety of different ways!
When we lean into our sun, moon, or any other dominant energy in our chart too much, we can start to display the more negative or lower-vibrational manifestations of these signs. It’s very important to be embodying the major placements in your chart while still being aware of the shadow side of these placements and working to avoid them. Learning about your sister sign (the sign opposing your sun, moon, south node, etc) and working to better embody this energy can be incredibly healing and fulfilling, particularly those who have stelliums in certain signs and are displaying the shadow side of this archetype. The trick is to find a balance between these two signs so you are still embodying your sun and moon (as these placements show you how to find fulfillment) while also looking to the opposite sign to keep a sense of balance and stability in your life.
Aries: Look to Libra energy to understand that you don’t always have to do everything on your own. There is an incredible strength in your independence, but you also need to learn that oftentimes the most fulfillment comes from our relationships with others. Libra teaches us there is a constant give-and-take in relationships and that we must be willing to make compromises and put others before ourselves at times. Libra also teaches us to really think things through when making decisions instead of relying on our initial emotional impulses. Sometimes it’s important to step back from a situation and make the decision from a more logical, objective standpoint instead of always letting your emotions decide. Learning how to make sacrifices and being aware of others’ needs in order to make your relationships work while still owning your authenticity and fiery energy is vital to finding fulfillment with this placement.
Taurus: Look to Scorpio energy to understand that dealing with major changes or going through a intense transformation is sometimes vital to finding fulfillment, however scary or uncomfortable it may be. Scorpio teaches us that sometimes we have to fall apart in order to put ourselves back together. While you likely feel most fulfilled when you have a sense of safety and comfort in your life, Scorpio teaches us that seeking intense emotional experiences can be incredibly fulfilling. Delving deep into your psyche and seeking meaningful, intimate relationships with others can be very healing for someone with this placement. You must learn to accept that the only constant in the human experience is change and find a way to recognize the beauty in this. Scorpio also teaches us how to let go of the relationships, habits, and situations in our lives that are no longer serving us. While you may have the tendency to hold on to what feels comfortable and familiar, you must learn to separate a comfortable situation from a healthy one. Learning how to go deep and surrender to the intensity that is the human experience while still maintaining some sense of groundedness and stability in your life is vital to finding fulfillment with this placement.
Gemini: Look to Sagittarius energy to understand the importance of looking at the bigger picture and finding meaning in everything. Sagittarius teaches us to get out of our heads and rely instead on our heart and our intuition. Spontaneous decisions and experiences are oftentimes the best things that ever happen to us. Learning to trust that everything will turn out okay and taking on a more optimistic, adventurous approach to life can be immensely healing. Sagittarius also teaches us how important it is to take a break from our daily responsibilities and make time for alone time Those of you with lots of Gemini placements likely love having a busy schedule and lots of social time, but it’s important to learn to prioritize your relationship with yourself first and foremost. Learning the importance of having big dreams and not getting too bogged down in the details is essential for someone with this placement. Sagittarius teaches us to prioritize growth, expansion, and self-development over everything. Seeking greater meaning in your life and focusing on whatever makes you excited and alive instead of just going through the motions is very important for someone with this placement. Learning how to trust your intuition and gut impulses and seeking meaning and truth in everything you do while still prioritizing your relationships with others is vital to finding fulfillment with this placement.
Cancer: Look to Capricorn energy to understand the importance of having a sense of order and structure in your life. Capricorn teaches us to rise above hardship, set boundaries, and pursue our goals with hard work and discipline. With this placement, it’s important to recognize that sometimes our emotions can cloud our judgement. Being able to make decisions on a more practical level is vital to living a more balanced, fulfilling life. Furthermore, Capricorn teaches us the strength in self-control and discipline. While it’s important for you to be tending to your emotional needs, you also need to recognize that sometimes you need to go outside of your comfort zone. You may have the tendency to cling on to whatever (or whoever) feels safe, familiar, and comfortable to you. When this is taken too far, it can be incredibly limitating. You must learn that something or someone that is comfortable doesn’t equate to that person or thing being healthy or good. Learning who you are outside of your relationships with others and being able to live your life with independence and self-awareness is vital.  Learning how to create a more structured life for yourself and pursuing your goals with hard work and discipline while also tending to your emotional needs is vital to finding fulfillment with this placement.
Leo: Look to Aquarius energy to understand the importance of living your life authentically and embracing the things that make you you, however “weird” or “different” they may be. Aquarius teaches us that our beauty and strength comes from what makes us unique. Letting go of what others think and releasing your desire for validation or attention is vital for someone with this placement. Aquarius also teaches us that we are all just 1 person out of 7 billion and that we are all equally important. Learning how to take people off pedestals and letting go of the belief that we are either superior or inferior to those around us is very important to finding fulfillment with this placement. You must learn to stop relying on success or recognition to fulfill your emotional needs and realize that true emotional fulfillment comes from within. Furthermore, recognizing that everyone is deserving of their chance in the spotlight and that there is plenty to go around is very important for someone with this placement. Aquarius teaches us to help those around us without expecting recognition or anything in return. While there is an incredible strength in your ability to follow your heart, it’s also important to recognize that sometimes your emotions may get in the way of making good decisions and that you need to work on really thinking things through from a more logical standpoint. Learning how to live authentically and embracing what makes you unique while still following your heart and pursuing what makes you feel passionate and alive is vital to finding fulfillment with this placement.
Virgo: Look to Pisces energy to understand the importance of going with the flow and letting your intuition be your guide. Pisces teaches us to trust the universe and surrender to the ebb and flow of our emotions. Letting go of your constant need for control and order is vital for someone with this placement. You must learn that there is beauty to be found in imperfection and that your struggles and mistakes have nothing to do with your worth. Pisces also teaches us the importance of taking a break from your daily tasks and responsibilities once in a while and making time for introspection and self care. Pursuing an activity that makes you lose track of time and is an escape from your everyday demands such as meditation, art, singing, or writing is incredibly healing for someone with this placement. Pisces reminds us that it’s okay to make decisions based on our intuition or our gut instinct, and that we‘re allowed to do things even when they don’t feel like the practical choice. Learning to escape from reality every once in a while and tending to your dreams, no matter how idealistic and impractical they may seem, is very important to finding fulfillment with this placement. It’s very important for someone with this placement to be aware of anytime they find themselves criticizing or judging others or themselves. You must learn the importance of positive self talk and learning to put your needs before the needs of others. Learning to listen to your intuition and go with the flow while still maintaining a sense of practicality and groundedness in your life is vital to finding fulfillment with this placement.
Libra: Look to Aries energy to understand the importance of self-awareness and putting your needs before the needs of others. Aries teaches us that there is tremendous strength to be found in asserting ourselves and standing our ground, no matter what others think. Letting go of the opinions of others and your desire to be liked is incredibly important for someone with this placement. You must learn that sometimes conflict is necessary and that living your life authentically and unapologetically is vital in living a fulfilling life. Aries teaches us the importance of developing our relationships with ourselves and understanding who we truly are outside of our relationships with others. While you likely have a strong desire to be in close partnerships or relationships with others, you need to have a healthy, balanced relationship with yourself before pursuing a relationship. Furthermore, you must learn to recognize your emotional needs and express these needs to others. Tending to your own needs before tending to the needs of others is very important for someone with this placement. Learning to stand your ground and fight for what you believe in is also incredibly important, even if it seems like everyone else is against you. Aries teaches us that gaining a sense of independence and freedom in our lives can be incredibly empowering. Learning how to balance your relationship with yourself and pursuing what makes you happy with your relationships with others and your desire for peace is vital to finding fulfillment with this placement.
Scorpio: Look to Taurus energy to understand the importance of maintaining a sense of stability, security, and comfort in your life. Taurus teaches us to revel in the simple pleasures of life - stopping and smelling the flowers. Eating a slice of pizza and really tasting it. Listening to the same song over and over again because it struck a chord in you. Learning to appreciate the simple things and recognizing that life doesn’t always have to be so hard and intense is vital for someone with this placement. You must learn to balance overreactions or intense emotional experiences with something that feels grounding and comforting. Maybe that’s going on a walk. Maybe it’s curling up with a blanket and letting yourself cry. Maybe it’s writing. But whatever that is to you, it needs to help you get back into your body and ground into the human experience. Taurus teaches us to seek more moderation and balance in our lives, as getting obsessed with or fixated on any one thing can become incredibly unhealthy. Taurus also teaches us to stand our ground and hold onto what we believe in with a stubborn determination. You are likely someone who has led an intensely emotional life. Maybe you’ve felt like your life or your identity has been in a near-constant state of change or upheaval. Taurus reminds us that while the only constant in life is change, it’s also possible to maintain a sense of stability if we hold onto and stay true to our values. Learning to get grounded and appreciate the simple pleasures of life while still staying true to your intense emotional nature is vital to finding fulfillment with this placement.
Sagittarius: Look to Gemini energy to understand the importance of connecting with and sharing your ideas with others. Gemini teaches us that the most fulfilling experiences are nearly always the ones we share with others. Learning to make decisions based on logic and practicality instead of just your initial gut impulses is vital for someone with this placement. Furthermore, sometimes just “hoping for the best” or making spontaneous decisions doesn’t work out too well. Gemini teaches us the importance of being detail-oriented and having somewhat of a plan before pursuing something. While you may have the tendency to make decisions based on what “feels right,” a lot of the time this doesn’t cut it. Being blindly optimistic or overly trusting could be your downfall. With this placement, there may be the tendency here to feel like you have all the answers or feel like you’re superior to others. In reality, however, we are all on our own journeys and nobody is superior or inferior to you. Your truth isn’t more important or more accurate than anybody else’s. Learning to keep an open mind and not judging others for having different beliefs and values than you is vital for someone for this placement. Gemini teaches us to recognize the duality of the human experience and that there is always two sides to a story. Learning to be more open-minded and prioritizing your relationships with others while still forming your own belief systems that are authentic and unique to you is vital to finding fulfillment with this placement.
Capricorn: Look to Cancer energy to understand the importance of prioritizing your emotional needs and sense of security. Cancer teaches us to find the beauty in our emotional nature and seek a greater sense of security and belonging in our lives. Learning to let go of your constant desire for structure and control and putting your emotional needs first is vital for someone with this placement. You must learn that your worth isn’t dependent on how much you get done or what others think of you or how successful you are. Rather, your worth is based on your heart and who you are inside. No amount of success or recognition can fulfill you if you haven’t done your inner work. Prioritizing your relationship with yourself and actively seeking to better your home life and inner world is very important to finding emotional fulfillment. It’s also essential for you to be able to let your guard down every once in a while and really feel your feelings. Furthermore, learning to really trust your intuition and your inner guidance system could be immensely healing for you. Cancer teaches us to prioritize emotional security and form deep, meaningful relationships with people who feel like family. Learning to tend to your emotional needs while still maintaining a sense of structure and order in your life is vital to finding fulfillment with this placement.
Aquarius: Look to Leo energy to understand the importance of listening to and following your heart and leading others with charisma and charm. Leo teaches us to pursue what makes us feel excited and passionate and alive and to find the beauty in being in the spotlight. Learning to ask yourself what your heart truly desires and following this urge without question is vital for someone with this placement. Tapping into your emotions and learning to express yourself unapologetically is key to your emotional fulfillment. Leo teaches us to live with a fiery passion and childlike enthusiasm. Learning to access this part of your personality and making decisions from a more emotional, intuitive standpoint could be incredibly fulfilling for you. You may have the tendency to step away from situations and make decisions from a more logical, objective standpoint, and while this can be incredibly effective, it’s also important to listen to your heart and choose what feels good and exciting to you. Getting in touch with your inner child and regaining a sense of wonder and awe, whatever that looks like to you - laughing, creating, playing, dancing, writing - could be immensely fulfilling for you. Learning to listen to your heart and be a role model and leader for others while still making sure not to sacrifice authenticity for the sake of popularity is vital to finding fulfillment with this placement.
Pisces: Look to Virgo energy to understand the importance of practicality and staying grounded. Virgo teaches us to get back into our bodies and the value in bringing greater order, structure, and precision into the world. You may have the tendency to become overly emotional or ungrounded, so you must learn from Virgo the importance of tending to your responsibilities first, even though they may seem mundane or boring. Being able to set boundaries respectfully is incredibly important to staying emotionally balanced. You are likely someone who is easily influenced by their environment and tends to take on the emotions of others, so setting boundaries, prioritizing alone time, and getting grounded is essential for someone with this placement. Furthermore, learning to help others without expecting anything in return is very important for someone with this placement.  Virgo teaches us to always stand our ground and stay rooted in reality. When you find yourself zoning out or getting lost in your own world too often, it’s time to get back into your body and focus on the reality right in front of you. You must find a way to balance idealism with practicality. Learning to get grounded and make practical decisions while still dreaming big and tending to your emotional needs is vital to finding fulfillment with this placement.

The Signs at their Worst
Disclaimer: These interpretations are based on my intuition and what I’ve learned from my study of astrology so far. Let go of anything that doesn’t resonate as everyone’s chart is different and each placement can manifest in a variety of different ways!
Check sun, moon, and rising signs.
Aries: Black-and-white or extremist thinking. Picking fights or confronting people when it’s not necessary. Making decisions based on your initial impulses rather than really thinking things through. Putting yourself before others and expecting them to always cater to your needs. Argumentative and easily angered.

Gemini: Restless, impatient, and anxious. Flighty and easily bored. Unwilling to commit. Caring too much about what others think, so can come off as two-faced or fake. Always wanting to intellectualize your feelings instead of dealing with them on an emotional level. Always searching for more information as a coping method. Gossiping. Seeking surface-level knowledge and experiences instead of diving deeper and seeking greater meaning.

Expecting everyone to accommodate your emotional needs even when you don’t tell them how you’re feeling. Stuck in memories of the past instead of focusing on the present. Clingy and codependent.

Libra: People-pleasing and indecisive. Avoiding conflict and confrontation because you’re scared people won’t like you. Being unable to stand up for yourself and assert yourself. Always putting others before yourself. Lacking self-awareness. Indecisive and codependent. Defining your worth based on your relationships.
Scorpio: Obsessive and extreme thinking. Diving too deep into your current interests and lacking a sense of balance in your life. Jealous, possessive, and controlling. Feeling constantly misunderstood. Overly intense. Manipulating others to get what you want. Incredibly private and unable to open up to and be vulnerable with others. Power-hungry.
Sagittarius: Self-righteous and arrogant. Judging others’ values and beliefs when they don’t agree with you. Trying to shove your beliefs down others’ throats. Blind optimism. Poor listening skills. Difficulty focusing on the smaller details.
Capricorn: Rigid and controlling. Overly concerned with status and image. Workaholic tendencies. Unable to enjoy the journey; fixated only on the destination. Suppressing your emotions. Perfectionistic.

The Moon Through the Houses & How to Find Emotional Fulfillment
Disclaimer: These interpretations are based on my own intuition and what I’ve learned from my study of astrology so far. Let go of anything that doesn’t resonate as everyone’s chart is different and each placement can manifest in a variety of different ways!
I like to look at the house placement of the moon to see how the native can find emotional balance and fulfillment and how they can best cope with difficult emotions when they arise. If you don’t know your moon placement, you can figure it out on Astro.com (though you will need an accurate birth time).
Moon in the 1st House: Stepping into your authority. Getting to know yourself and prioritizing self-discovery and growth. Celebrating your talents and accomplishments. Setting boundaries and asserting your individuality. Fighting for what you believe in. Learning to see the beauty in your emotional nature and expressing your emotions in whatever way feels comfortable and true to you. Learning to make decisions based on logic and practicality rather than on just your initial emotional impulses. Attending to your own needs first.
Moon in the 2nd House: Focusing on healing any insecurities you have around self worth or body image. Prioritizing self care. Asking yourself what you truly value and reflecting on how to live in greater alignment with your values and desires. Working on your relationship with money. Asking yourself what you need to feel safe, secure, and protected.
Moon in the 3rd House: Learning how to accept your emotions for what they are and sharing your experiences with others. Allowing yourself to feel every emotion as it arises without trying to push it down or intellectualize it. Processing things verbally. Writing. Prioritizing learning about topics that interest you and keep your mind engaged. Satisfying your hunger for knowledge. Learning how to slow down. Living consciously and mindfully instead of just going through the motions.
Moon in the 4th House: Developing a sense of belonging and a connection to your roots. Finding a safe environment in which you feel you can express yourself freely. Seeking reliable relationships with people who make you feel safe and secure. Letting yourself feel whatever you’re feeling without judgement. Prioritizing your home life and your relationship with your family if you’re on good terms with them. If not, choosing your own family. Putting your emotional needs first.
Moon in the 5th House: Connecting with your inner child, whatever that means to you. Laughing, creating, singing, playing - anything that feels fun and playful and allows you to experience the sense of wonder and awe you had as a child. Working on healing inner child trauma. Channeling your emotions into some kind of creative medium and allowing yourself to freely express whatever you’re experiencing. Asking yourself how you can bring greater joy and pleasure into your life.
Moon in the 6th House: Being of service to others or feeling as if you’re making a positive impact on the world in some way. Asking others what you can help them with while at the same time learning how to ask others for help when you need it and putting your own emotional needs first. Staying on top of your health by prioritizing your diet, exercise schedule, and sleep routine. Finding a healthy balance between work and play.
Moon in the 7th House: Seeking a greater sense of balance in your life. When you are feeling down or out-of-whack, asking yourself what aspects of your life you’re leaning into too heavily and what aspects of your life you need to prioritize more. Sharing your experiences with a trusted friend, partner, or counselor. Setting boundaries when you need to and forming healthy relationships in which you have a strong emotional connection. If you have codependent tendencies and tend to rely on others all the time for emotional support, recognizing this and prioritizing your relationship with yourself above everything else.
Moon in the 8th House: Forming deep, meaningful relationships with others and sharing your emotional experiences with them. Exploring life’s mysteries. Diving deep into your psyche and developing your relationship with yourself. Shadow work. Learning how to trust others and open up to them. Trusting your intuition. Recognizing that dark cannot exist without light and vice versa. Accepting your emotions instead of repressing them or running away from them. Going to therapy or pursuing a career in psychology yourself if that’s something you’re drawn to.
