I am so very tired of people not adding proper trigger warnings and tags to their fanfiction and headcanon posts. (It can be such a problem with art too.)

I unintentionally read a pretty triggering headcanon/scenario because while the author did put a warning for the most notably triggering issue they did not clarify that it was a more explicit depiction of said subject or that it was explicit in other ways. They hadn't named any other pretty triggering things in the warnings other then using a vague negative adjective. It additionally only had fandom related tags.

Maybe it's because I came to Tumblr after being a user of Archive of Our Own for years, but it always pisses me off when people don't properly add tags or triggers to their posts. Fandom etiquette on that site leans towards tagging everything and there's only a few cases where I unknowingly read something triggering up or explicit without knowing beforehand.

People with dissociative disorders are neurodivergent too.

Neurodivergence isn’t just ADHD, autism, anxiety, and depression. (Plus those last two also get left out sometimes!) Neurodivergence is anything that affects your brain.

“Neurodivergent people hate loud noises” is actually just as valid as a statement as “neurodivergent people have delusions,” “neurodivergent people have tics,” or even “neurodivergent people have low empathy.”
