Okay, this is a genuine question. I've seen bi women saying they feel isolated from the sapphic community - like, I saw this *a lot* when I thought I was bi. I find this slightly confusing since 1.9% of women identity as bi and only .9% identify as lesbians. Within Gen Z, 20.7% of femae respondents to a study identified as bisexual compared to 5.4% who identify as lesbians.
Bi women easily outnumber lesbians... so how could they be isolated from the sapphic community? You're the vast vast majority of the sapphic community?
I mean this genuinely, I'm just a little confused. I'm not trying to be dismissive, I just want to understand.

"Director Phoebe Kemp said in a statement: “Twelfth Night already toys with gender and performance – it feels like Shakespeare wrote it for us. This reading is about joy, solidarity and showing what’s possible when trans and nonbinary artists are at the centre of the story.”"

people are always like we need to say sapphic because lesbian doesn’t include bi women but yes it do

They’re right there. In the middle

sometimes I see people explain qprs as the 'nonbinary of relationships', and I think the comparison of relationships to gender works in more ways than people realise.
like... an established binary (man/woman) (platonic/romantic) in which certain behavoirs are seen to correspond to options within that binary (wearing a skirt as feminine) (kissing as inherently romantic), and though the distinction between these options seems very important to people, no-one is actually able to pinpoint exactly what seperates them (watch anyone try to define 'what is a woman') (watch anyone try to define what romantic attraction is).
I'm sure there are more ways to compare the two, but hopefully this is... legible. it's kind of feeling like a 'I've connected the dots' 'you didn't connect shit' scenario, ngl.
ooh i think youre onto something

After removing mentions of trans people from the Stonewall National Monument earlier this year the Trump admon tried removing bisexual from it too. There was enough backlash they put some of it back (source). We really need to not be infighting in the queer community right now more than ever
The whole "lgb drop the t" movement is so obviously a psyop to make queer people destroy their communities from the inside, I'm honestly surprised anyone fell for it, let alone this many people
Like
Guaranteed, if they ever did manage to "drop the t" they would 100% make the next step "lg drop the b" (assuming that discourse isn't already happening)
All im saying is if you join a movement whose whole purpose is to mobilise the exclusion of a marginalized group, don't be surprised when they start mobilizing to exclude you

the thing about being nonbinary is that you really do start to forget that other people have such strict walls around what is and isn’t allowed for genders. i thought we all agreed that we made that up. could you climb out of the cave real quick and feel the sunshine for a minute.

Cis people insisting that there's an age limit to not being shitty about trans people or that you can't make not-shitty trans jokes? Take notes.

It’s wild to me to see transvestigator conspiracy theories online that could be so easily explained by natural human variation. That woman has a deep voice? Yeah, sometimes they do. A woman has broad shoulders?? Maybe she plays rugby or hits the gym a fuckton. There’s a “bulge” in her tight pants?? Maybe her vulva is just fat. All the “markers” of trans woman that transvestigators use to harass any woman aren’t even things unique to trans women.
