If I ever get to actually make this show (which I doubt), I want my version of Nine Realms, aka New World, to have the background be filled out by already existing dragons that don't get enough attention. Like dragons from The Book of Dragons or that only exist in the games, but this also expands to dragons like Timberjacks. If you guys have any dragons that you think deserve some love, please let me know. Anyways, have the first of the redesign/updates for New World, the Woolley Howl!

OK, this is my current sketch for my updated ref-sheet for Tom Paterson, well the head at least. I am, not, good at drawing people. If you guys have any tips or ideas for how I can make this better but fit into the httyd style, please tell me.

the purplish red underbelly blends in a bit too much on Ares' side.

I don't mind it. I didn't want it to be too bright since the red of the wing already pops a fair bit, and I just didn't want it to be too vibrant.

Do pisces and ares have back legs? I think their ref looks a bit unclear on that?

No, they do not. Aries and Pisces only have wings. They move around using their wings in a similar fashion to how Monstrous Nightmares do, but their tail also helps with movement by slithering like a snake.

So, my hyperfixation overlords have decided that I am now working on my other Re-Imagined Project, WOF Re-Imagined, so expect some tribe redesigns in the near future.

Don't worry, guys, I'm still alive. I've brought you the redesign of the Fault Ripper for my Nine Realms Re-Imagined Project, now called Dragons: New World. Now I'd like to tell you a little about this big guy. The Fault Crawler is a Mystery Class, living deep underground and almost never getting close to the surface. The head and talons of this dragon are covered in tough and rough scales while the rest of his body is like that of a worm. Soft skin covered in slimy mucus. The head and talons of this dragon are the only parts of this dragon that actively break apart and move rocks, the rest of its body just needing to be able to slither through the path it carves. It relies heavily on its hearing and smell, being completely blind since it doesn't have any eyes. If you want to know more about him and the other dragons, let me know.

Sorry that I haven't been posting a lot recently, I've got some pretty bad creator's block rn. My plans for future posts are my redesign of the Fault Ripper and updated ref sheets for the main human characters. I've also decided to rename my version from "The Nine Realms" to "New World."

June Ryū can be best described as chaotic. She's the type of person to binge watch anime until midnight but wakes you up to go ghost hunting at 3am. Speaking of which, she's an avid lover of the supernatural, cryptozoolgical, and mythological. She always tells the best scary stories and is completely, unapologetically herself. Her mom doesn't approve of her "rebellious" nature and just wants her to put her passion into something that can support her. But, at the end of the day, she's still the most loyal person you'll ever meet. She'll step in when you're getting bullied only to get beat up as well and crack jokes as the nurse gets you ice packs.

OK, since my original post of these guys didn't get much attention, I thought I'd give this another shot. I'm going to be posting my redesigns for the five main human characters of my Nine Realms Re-Imagined Project again, but, individually and with personality and backstories. Starting with Tom.

Tom Paterson is outgoing, adventurous, and brash. He's been traveling the world with his famous archeologist/geologist mother, Olivia Paterson, for pretty much his entire life. He's well versed in multiple cultures and is fluent in five languages. He has a tendency to act first and think later, which often gets him stuck in over his head. He has a good heart and always wants to help others, even to his own detriment. From trying to pet a bobcat, bring a raccoon home, or feed a fox bacon. He always strives to do what he thinks is the right thing. He's generally a pretty chill guy and very friendly. His music taste is 100% good vibes.

Finally, for the main four dragons, this is my redesign of Plowhorn (I really hate that name) for my Nine Realms Re-Imagined Project. She's still got her stick-bomb-thing, but she can now use the pincers on her front legs and the end of her tail to lock onto enemies and also uses her tail to throw objects. She's a gentle giant and a sweet old lady. The horn on her head is inspired by Japanese Rhinoceros Beetles, with the top being broken from a past fight.

This is my redesign of Thunder for my Nine Realms Re-Imagined Project. He doesn't have any lighting based powers whatsoever, and I imagine his new abilities being very sound based, like echolocation. His personality is much closer to Toothless in the first movie, just more grumpy. He's also deadly curious, which often gets him in trouble. And, NO, he is not a Lightfury, Nightfury, or Night-LightFury. In my mind, Lightfuries are an evolved version of Nightfuries that have adapted to the cold, so Ghost's breed is essentially if a group split off in the middle of that evolution process.

This is my redesign of Feathers for my Nine Realms Re-Imagined Project. She still has her sonic blast, can camouflage, and mimic noises. I didn't include it in her ref page, at least not this one, but I like to imagine that her neck is like a green heron's. So she does have a long neck but keeps it folded to try and make herself look smaller, and her neck+head feathers move to express emotion. I also imagine the edges of her wings will tint different colors depending on her mood.

This is my redesign of Wu&Wei for my Nine Realms Re-Imagined Project. Their new names are because June loves astrology, but August loves astronomy. Aries still breathes fire, and Pisces still breathes ice, I just changed their appearance and personalities.
