For me this piece is an exploration of the little details that live inside of the big moments of my life and the impact even the smallest stitch or stroke can have in the grand scheme of a piece this large.

Growing up in Saint Louis Missouri, the Mississippi River is an always present entity. In this piece I am thinking about history as a form of memory through the pathways the Mississippi has carved into the land and the way those bends and curves relate to my memory of life.

“There Is Still Hope”

In response to the question “where do we go from here?”, the theme for this years CCA@CCA Symposium, this sculpture hold the message and reminder that there is still hope even when we are buried under the weight of everything happening around us.
