The first thing you noticed when you opened your eyes was the familiar hospital room. The only difference was that there was a familiar brunette sleeping on one of the hospital chairs.

“P...peter?” you said softly. You expected his to open his eyes, instead he bolted right away and looked around frantically.

“Yes! What’s wrong?! Are you dying?!” his panicked faced made you giggled.

“No babe. I’m fine, though I’m kind of thirsty.”

Peter rushed to the bedside and served you a cup of water.

“Thank you”, you said and drank it.

“How are you feeling?”, Peter said as he sat on the edge of the bed holding your hand.

“I’m okay considering I had brain surgery, but I feel exhausted”, you smiled as you felt Peter play with your fingers.

“That’s good. Anything you need, just tell me baby,” Peter did a little bow as he said “Your wish is my command”. You giggled and spent the entire day talking until a nurse brought you your food.

“Here, let me help” Peter adjusted his position to face you and feed you.

“Peter, I’m capable of feeding myself”, you stuck out your tongue playfully.

“I know but still, let me take care of you”, Peter did a little pouty face. Your heart sped up as if it was the first time you saw him, and gave in because you’ve grown to love this boy so much.

“Okaaayyy, fine.”

He smiled and started feeding you and even cleaned the stains on the corners of your mouth. Once you finished he gave you soft kisses on the cheek and moved the tray from your lap.

“Oh! Babe, you’re in for a surprise because today there’s gonna be a meteor show and supposedly they said they’re gonna shine really brightly that not even city lights can dim them,” Peter said as his eyes shined with amusement and awe as he looked out the hospital window.

“I’ll see if I can move your bed closer to the window so you can get a better view”

Once he moved your bed near to the window, you made space so he could lay next to you. He laid next to you and wrapped his arm around your waist.

He pressed his lips against yours softly. You sighed contently spent the night looking away at the sky full of meteors. Nothing could make your recovery better than having a sweet and adoring boy such as Peter taking care of you.

THE NEXT DAY

I woke up excited as hell. Not really waking up since I couldn't sleep last night. Starting today I'm gonna have all my classes with Bev, I thought to myself as I laid awake in bed. The thought of having Beverly in all my classes made me smile like an idiot. Filled with joy, I got out of bed and got ready for school. Sad part is that we have to wear uniform. AHAHAHA whyyyyyyy, I whined to myself as I started putting on my uniform pants and shirt.

I sprinted downstairs and into the kitchen. I quickly sat down and waited for my mom to hand me the sandwich she had made for me.

“Well someone is excited for school, aren't they?”, my mom asked chuckling a bit at my eagerness.

“I mean, I’m gonna be sharing classes with my best friend for the entire year. Why wouldn't I be excited?” I replied as I started shoving the sandwich down my mouth. I quickly finished it, washing it down with orange juice. By the time I was done, my mom was already in the car ready to leave.

I got out of the car, yelling a “Bye!” to my mom as I headed quickly to my first class. Once I reached my room I saw Bev... side hugging Bill.

“(Y/N)!! You’re here,” Bev smiled brightly when she saw me and made her way to me, unwrapping her arm from Bill’s waist. We met each other halfway and she hugged me. “I know I saw you yesterday but I missed you,” she giggled. My heart sped up for some reason and I laughed awkwardly.

“I missed you too Bev” I said as I hugged her back. We chatted awhile about our summer, and the interesting things that happened. Bev’s mainly included hanging out with Bill, which for some reason bothered me, meanwhile I spoke about my trip.

The bell rang, indicating school was starting and we sat wherever we could before the teacher came into the room. Obviously, I sat next to Bev, and alas Bill sat on the other side of Bev. The teacher walked into the room and started roll call.

“A new school year means new rules. From now on, you will all have assigned seats in every class,” the teacher informed us. Loud groans emitted from the class including mine. Well there goes my chance to sit with Beverly, though we might have been assigned to sit next to each other.

Classes proceeded and in my first class Bill and Bev were assigned together. Everyone in the class started teasing them because everyone knew they were dating. I just rolled my eyes in annoyance and I didn’t know why.

In most classes I was placed next to someone I didn’t know, though in one class I was placed next to Stan. I really liked Stan. Not gonna lie, I find Stan cute and he’s really sweet. Overall we can say I had a small crush on Stan but shush, that’s a secret. So when I found out I was sitting next to Stan, I was happy.

Each class was just going over rules, the supplies we would need, and what the teacher had planned for the school year. But something bothered me. In every single class Bill and Bev were placed next to each other.

Why couldn't it have been me sitting next to her...
