I just finished it so this hits so hard right now.  Today was horrific, and at the end? I finished one of the most fascinatingly mindfucked books i’ve ever encountered. as if I didn’t have a weird sense of mourning before? this only managed to make it less tolerable.   also.. i need other people's opinions about the ending bc I felt.. neutral on it.

Hunter x Male! Autistic Reader

(I wrote this with a reader in mind but didn’t really fixate on gendered terms so this can be read as a GN Reader too)

(I also love Cody Fry dude, if you haven’t heard his other songs you should listen I’m sure you’d love them. Some of them are covers but honestly I think he outdoes himself with most of his music)

- not to push my agenda on here, but hunter’s also most likely on the spectrum, he just didn’t get the advantage of growing up in a place where diagnosis was an option. so when you first tell him about it prepare for lots of questions. it isn’t to overwhelm you (but if it does he will totally back off and give you some space) he’s just trying to make sure he knows everything he can. 

- asks around (specifically luz as she has her own experience with diagnosis) and finds a few books on it, though he’s especially excited to learn from you (especially if this means that he can help you cope with any symptoms better) 

- when he finds out about any interests of yours, he’s so beyond happy to see you excited about something, he wants to hear all about it, all your favorite facts, what first got you into it. (if this is also overwhelming he’ll opt to infodump about his interests instead)  - definitely gets you tiny gifts related to your interests or hyperfixations, (or will make them depending on if it’s a common interest or not) though as much as he loves to see your reactions to them, he’ll occasionally leave them in your room just so you can react without worrying about masking. (he stresses out quite a bit himself when gifted something and having to immediately react in front of others)  - similar to how he made his costume from cosmic frontier, if you want a halloween costume related to your interest this boy will put everything he has into making it for you. anything to see your joy.  - that being said if anyone were to ever make fun of your excitement for these interests, they’ll have an angry hunter to deal with 

- if you get overstimulated? he’s the best at finding hiding places. big closets, quiet gardens, places only the two of you frequent? his absolute favorite. he’ll hold you if you’re not uncomfortable with it, and if not he’ll sit beside offering verbal comfort (to his best capability)  “it’s alright, I promise, i’m right here.” 

- doesn’t realize it but he tends to mimic your stims, so if you don’t point this out to him someone in the group probably will. it’s both a case of mirroring and finding out stim’s he also likes. though has some of his own as well (chewing on things he’s holding, clapping, hand flaps) flapjack and him tend to flap together though. 

- he did pick up a stim where he sang the burger king whopper song because he heard it in commercials too many times. 

- if you have any sensory issues with food, he’ll be sure to advocate for them the best he can, whether this means helping you make safe foods or just reminding anyone making the food of these struggles. very “excuse me, they asked for no pickles” energy.

Can I request hunter x male reader where reader is in the place of Luz during the hunting palismen episode. Also hunter hit his head and was dazed so when he wakes up, he sees reader above him but thinks they're a cute angel

Okay, I absolutely adored this idea, so I went back to watch the episode and tried to ensure I got everything as close to canon as possible besides the swap out of the reader. for a little context, Reader has not gotten a palismen but knows some basic magic. Flapjack followed the reader home instead of Luz and the reader went back to return him to the nest that morning and got caught up in the stealing of the palismen. (Which I'm pretty sure yall assumed already, I just like specificity)

Hunter X Male!Reader

- by the time you’d risen from your crumpled state from the crash, you had just ducked away in the rubble fast enough to hear kikimora announce that the golden guard had passed away with the crash, and then watched as she sent the coven scouts away. 

- than to your surprise the creature that you now assumed caused the wreck flew down to meet her, only gaining it praise. not taking the time to sit around and find out what would happen next, you started to walk to find an exit. 

- though you quickly stumbled upon who you assumed to be the golden guard himself. checking his pulse, he seemed to be quite alive just unconscious. you sent a glance to flapjack who only chirped with approval as you bent down to try to wake the.. less than intimidating golden guard, who couldn’t be much older than you.. truthfully you were under the assumption he’d be a bit more than, an injured kid. 

- he stirred as your hand tapped at his cheek, and his eyes fluttered, trying to get his surroundings, though you could practically see the confusion clouding his eyes. 

- “am I.. dead?” he asked in a meek voice, this caught you severely off guard but eventually you mustered, “hardly, you’re definitely still among the living” and he didn’t take a second to consider this before he continued on “are you?.. an angel?” you paused, and couldn’t help but smile a little. “no. listen.” you moved to help him sit up and flapjack quickly jumped into his lap.   - he started to remember after a minute or two, and you offered him water while flapjack stared up at him, “look, kikimora sent that dragon to try to kill you, and we have to get out of here before it finds us.”  - you stood, offering your hand, which after a dazed and flushed look up at you, the golden guard quickly took, pulling himself up with a huff. “follow me, I know a town not far off from here.” he pulled you along by your hand, that he just so happened to forget to drop. “look, I don’t really know why lord below-” “belos.” the guard corrected as he continued his begrudged walk into town. you groaned, “belos, needs those palisman, but i’m gonna need them back” you stated firmly, lifting flapjack onto your shoulder.  - the guard laughed to himself looking back at you, “and what makes you think i’d help you do that?” and you released his hand, “uh, I don’t know, maybe because I just saved your life?!” your tone raised and you saw him flinch, which caused your demeanor to drop, though he seemed to genuinely consider this answer. sighing a bit to himself. “look, help me get back to a precinct so I can make sure kikimora doesn’t get to belos before I do, and I’ll..” he hesitated, but his voice lightened a bit, “i’ll see what I can do.”  - this stunned you to no end but you smiled, offering him your hand for a shake. “sounds like a deal.” he shook it and nodded. though as he pulled back and walked ahead, you stood there for a second watching him. “hey, do you have a name besides.. well, you know, ‘the golden guard’” you asked, not hesitating to distort the title a bit at the end of your sentence.  - he turned back towards you once again, and actually managed a smile (a thin and closed lip grin that couldn’t help but make a bit of blood flush to your cheeks) “Hunter.” he replied, “Well. It’s nice to meet you Hunter, i’m Y/N.”

T4T Hunter and Reader<Transmasc addition>

Hi guys <3 I'm trans and there's not enough Trans Hunter content or T4T content in the x reader fandom in general, but I'm gonna fix that (*⌒∇⌒*) These have also been done for a while lol but have been sitting in.my drafts beacuse of school .3. But here :-) Enjoy! (This definitely takes place during the gap in s3 where everything was kinda calm for a min, btw)

If you use a binder, he will remind you to regularly wash it

If you use trans tape to bind, he will also help you with applying it and not overstretching

I personally hc that when he binds he binds with tape because of his anxiety, and binders put a lot of pressure on the chest, so he uses tape so there's less pressure in case of an anxiety attack

If you take testosterone, he will help you with T-Shots or remind you not to touch stuff while your t gel is on

He will 100% try out any new pronouns or terms you wanna try!!

Hunter is trans so he definitely gets wanting to try out neopronouns or new pronouns in genral

He will packers with socks(if you use them) as a date with you

You definitely both support each other with handling dysphoria (if you experience dysphoria)

He will hold you and comfort you to the best of his ability 💛

If you come out to him after he's known you for a while, he will probably throw a little gender reveal party for you (just like, for example, a cake, some banners nothing too crazy like fireworks)

If you have unsupportive parents, then he will let you stay with him as long as you'd like, and when you turn 18, he will glady invite you to stay with him instead of your shitty parents
