📌 Writeblr Introduction

Hello! My name is Amadeus, but you can call me Ami, and I'm brand new to tumblr! I'm a Latine vsinger and booktuber in my 20s, so not your usual writeblr, but I hope we can get along! My mind's been dreaming up stories for as long as I can remember, and since I'm only just making my way into the booktubing scene, I wanted to challenge myself to actually bring one of those daydreams to life. I decided to make a blog here in hopes of being part of a fun, supportive, and likeminded group!

No but my mom wanted me to have the same beginning letter as my sperm donor

A few hours ago, these assignments have been kicking my ass

NO

4. What sports do you play/have played?

Volleyball, Soccer, and Basketball I sucked at it but I joined for the girls iykyk

5. Do you use sarcasm?

Yes, but I think I’m not very good at it since people think I’m just being mean 😭 (it’s my face I swear I’m not)

6. What's the first thing you notice about people?

How they treat others or their mannerisms think it tells a lot about someone

7. What's your eye color?

Light brown? Like honey

8. Scary movies or Happy endings

Scary movies. I need to be scared it’s the only excitement I get these days but in a perfect world scary movies with happy endings

9. Any talents?

I can almost touch my tongue with my nose? Oh! I am ambidextrous so I can use both my hands to do things!

10. Where were you born?

Miami, Florida

11. What are your hobbies?

Writing, Reading, Photography, Guitar, Cooking/Baking, K-pop, anime, and traveling (even though I’ve never been outside the country)

12. Do you have any pets?

No my Caribbean parents detest animals but I really want some!

Uh I dunno, 5’7… 6’3 on a good day

14. Favorite subject in school

Language, Science, or English I can’t choose between the three

I usually change this every few years but rn I’m obsessed with the film industry, and movies, so cinematographer or filmmaker :))

Ta'veren, A Writblr Intro

Hello, my name is Ta'veren or Tav or Sam, whichever you wish to call me, He/Him. I'm just starting out on this blog so this marks the start of my journey as a writer trying to get out there!

Almost everything that I like to write revolves around fantasy, especially in the vein of epic fantasy authors like Robert Jordan, Tolkien, Tad Williams, Sanderson and GRRM. I'm also absolutely in love with D&D and so most of what I'll be posting will be related to that and the world I have created for my players. Finally, I will admit that I have a soft spot for fanfiction so there will be a lot of that here as well.

I look forward to integrating into the Writblr community! I'm open to asks, tag games, anything at all because I believe writers should support writers :)

My WIPs

God War—This is a book I've been writing for my own interest and those of my close friends, a story I've been tinkering with for the past five/six years. It's follows the god Pelor who is the subject of an ominous prophecy that claims he will break the world of celestials and fiends, and in doing so will finally defeat Evil. The book itself explores the Nature of Good and Evil and is my own philosophical novel akin to Camus' The Stranger or The Fall. I probably won't post much about it but it is fun to talk about :)

The Errant Knight (New)—This is what I hope to be my first published novel. Set in the world of Sarrah, it follows a knight as they are thrust into a land strange and unknown to them. More to come!

Tavrian (Baldur's Gate 3)—I'll tell you what, nothing has kickstarted my writing other than BG3. Literally, I've tripled my writing output in the past three weeks because of this game. Tavrian is the first character I made for the game and he is the one I shall be writing about, and have written about. Most of his work will be posted here and on A03.

World of Sarrah—This is a worldbuilding project. Sarrah is where my D&D campaigns are run, and where eventually my books (save God War) will take place. I'll be churning out blog posts about it so I can have a place where all the info is stored, and so that anyone who is interested can read the lore.

I love it when people try to claim representation in fiction is being taken “too far” to the point where it’s no believable. They’re like:

Aelfraed woke to a bellow crashing through his dreams. “Aelfraed! Get down here now!” His eyes shot open this time for real after several scattered anxious dreams of what might happen. The shout turned into muffled loud voices not quite loud enough to reach him through the floor. Aelfraed frowned dragging himself out of bed, that was Aelthelric he could just about hear along with the angry raised tones of their father. He couldn’t let Aethelric take the blame for this. He would try, even if Aelfraed didn’t deserve the help. He slipped out of the bedroom and into the corridor, softly stepping down the narrow stairs to the landing overlooking the hallway. Their father stood at the bottom gripping the banister tightly, turned away to face Aethelric. He couldn’t see his face but could imagine the deep scowl and crunched eyebrows along with the tinge of red to his skin. “Don’t try that with me Aethelric.  I know he’s here,” his father demanded, folding his arms. Aelfraed stilled, half wanting to escape back up the stairs unnoticed. “Fine okay, he’s here but why are you?” Aethelric said pointedly, “he’s allowed to go places.” “He isn’t allowed to just up and abandon his responsibilities on a whim. I should have kept a closer eye on him,” their father ranted arms waving.  “Father, he’s not a child,” Aethelric said with an incredulous expression on his face. “Then he shouldn’t act like one!” His father snapped. “Clearly he can’t be trusted to make the right choices.”

“If you have time to be on social media, you also have time for…” “If you have time to watch Netflix, you also have time for…” Yeah, but do I have the energy for it? Do I have the emotional and mental capacity for it? Am I pain-free enough for it? Can I focus on it? Can I do it without leaving my bed? Can I safely do it without risk of (physically or emotionally) injuring myself by pushing past my boundaries?

kinda obsessed with the idea of quiet enemies-to-lovers, actually. i feel like so many enemies-to-lovers ships are so loud, there's so much banter and snark and backtalk, and there's nothing wrong with that; but i love enemies-to-lovers where the loathing is in dark glares and the tense silence enveloping the two, where "i despise you" is conveyed with one look. where, lurking in the quiet, there lies an understanding of hatred—and, eventually, an understanding of something else, entirely.
