Hi, I hope your doing well. I wanted to ask about a screen cap that you posted awhile ago that showed what looked like a restyled UCP and was curious if you had done that and if there was a tutorial on how to do that?

hi! um unfortunately there was no tutorial, but it's pretty much just a combination of flex box, custom ucp field categories and using this spreadsheet by sadrienne for targeting. sorry this took so long to reply to!

Time to Say Goodbye

Hey guys! Hope everyone's doing good.

I'm posting this today as an official "goodbye" from Tumblr.

As much as I've loved creating themes, fonts and other goodies for you guys here, it's finally time to leave that for new creators.

would you ever sell your skin choke from the skinathon as a premade sale? i came back to it and still love it!

i was still learning and testing out features new to me with choke that it's such a mess on the backend. i wouldn't feel comfortable giving it away for free, let alone selling it lol but if i ever get the chance to redo it from scratch, maybe! it's definitely a favorite and i'd love to see it actually put to good use.

hi! sorry this took a while to get to but i think this would depend on the commission itself. my main concerns would be inspo/mockups, the start date and deadline, and how complicated the concept and features would be. i can't make any promises but if you want to shoot me a dm over discord, i'd be happy to talk to you a bit more about it.

hey guys! i just jumped on to say that i totally realize everyone pulls inspo from others, and i usually find it really flattering when people ask if they can use my work for inspiration and honestly don't have a big issue with it in those situations, but it's super disheartening to come across something heavily inspired by it out of the blue. if you're going to do this to your fellow creators, give them credit. or at least give them a shoutout.

your buzz kill skin is just -heart eyes- and i cannot wait for it to be released!!! are you planning at all to release it with matching templates? i have seen some automated thread tracker and claims (tracker in the main profile, face claim list and then the member group/alias via the member list) and was wondering if this was something that might be included?

i am planning to release it with matching templates which will just be considered part of the skin and i would love to play a hand at the auto thread tracker. honestly, i've only used it once (and it was a little bit of a headache) but the outcome was chefskiss. i don't usually love the member list directory because if you have a lot of accounts it tends to be very slow and laggy, but if people are interested?

keep in mind i am still working on this skin and it wouldn't be ready to share for quite some time, as i've mentioned previously i'd want to try it out myself first to work out bugs.

The buzzkill skin is gorgeous!! I love the forum structure for the Guidebook, Services, etc in the sample pics you've set up! I can't wait to see this one complete as I definitely think I will want to purchase! Are you considering at all it being a profile app style main profile?! thanks so much you are doing so amazing!! <3

thank you, that means a lot! i am actually. i usually make separate profiles for staff and characters, but i thought i might take that extra step of making a regular main profile and offering a shipper as well so people have options. we'll have to see how it pans out :)

Possibly! If people are interested :) It was created for a very intimate dark sandbox so it doesn't have a ton of WOW features, but it is very clean and as accessible as possible.

thank you, i appreciate that! i've gotten a couple of these asks/messages, and i think i actually will be putting it up as a premade eventually since people seem to like it, but i wanna try/test it out first and make sure it's as bug-free as possible (bc that makes me nervous lol). unfortunately that means it probably won't be up for a few months.

inspired by some former skins i'd purchased as well as my own that for one reason or another weren't of use anymore. trying my best to keep the same type of style/theme so we don't have to redo a bunch of templates and take a big loss as well as make it a little more accessible bc some of us are old and can't see anymore bye. v happy. also meet rusty.

this is buzzkill (wip), one of three projects i'm working on atm, and i've decided that i might need a little help holding myself accountable or i'd probably never finish them lol.

i've been super nostalgic for an old site lately and (thanks for some encouraging logic from a couple of friends) wanted to see what that site would look like if it was alive today with a mixture of its old bones and some of my fav current trends and features. i'm forever a fan of black/white contrast but i know it's harsh on the eyes these days so i'm trying my best to incorporate it without the strain 😅

heading features:

○ navigation/user menu toggle ○ light/dark mode toggle ○ font size toggle ○ 3-tone gradients (preview shows three different shades of blue) ○ sticky topbar ○ brief link to news/update box (using lux's carousel code)

i'm really wanting to share skins with people this year but i'm not 100% confident in my work enough for that, yet. i might test this one out sometime down the line. and if all goes well maybe i'll toss it up eventually as a premade? please don't quote me, i make no promises.

I know that Cappuccicons has gone down, and we're not sure if it's going to come back up. And by we I mean the general coding community.

In the interim, you can host the files on your own Jcink site and from there still access the icons.

I've created a little guide on how to do that, as well as how to install the .css file in your stylesheet instead of trying to host from the Wrapper.

You can download a local copy of a webpage that has all the icons on it, so you can see which icons are which, what their code is, and their icon name!

this is a skin from a winter pop-up site that unfortunately didn't open over the holiday season because november wasn't kind and before we knew it, christmas was over. don't quote me, but i think this might be my favorite type of style to code to date? it also comes in light-mode (not pictured), but it was coded for darkmode.

i really love the idea of using dropdown fields to show different profile content. this one has three different sort of "development" shows next to the freestyle portion (that can also be adjusted to be shipper or plothooks - whatever the player likes) and each field is available to be filled so if you want to switch off, you can and you won't lose that unsuded content.

we do plan to actually open next winter season; whether or not this'll be the skin remains to be seen, but i'd rather use it than have created it for nothing. even if by then the trend has passed.

thanks going to scarlet of fuse for allowing me to sample off her coding style, it was really cool of her!

I went through all of them and wrote a lightweight script that allows you to add any icon with just one line of HTML. I’ve also curated a complete icon cheatsheet so you can search for any icons you want to use, and preview them before adding them to your project.
