Tonight's dinner was Blackened Fish Tacos.
The taco was tilapia. It goes: pat it dry, then oil it and season it on both sides with old bay, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and garlic salt, then pan sear the thing. I'm going to be preparing it this way for the next several times I have it, I think!
The sauce was agave chipotle taco sauce from the grocery store, and the rice in there is flavored with chili oil, chopped cilantro, and fresh lime juice.
Since I was using a lime on the rice anyway, I made a Paloma to go with my dinner.

This time, I flavored the boba Lemony before I made this boba americano. It was weird! But I don't regret the experiment.

It's getting tougher to find lunch for less than $5 and still get full, but Carlos Pizza is still holding it down. Bravo!

I made these pickles in the fridge overnight. I just free-poured rice vinegar, salt, sugar and water, but they turned out great!

Chrysanthemum tea is both tasty and just plain interesting to look at. I like this brand, too. it's very dramatic with the golden silk petals when compared to the rhizome style.

Splendid.
I've cracked it. You've got to make the boba, cool it down, put it in the mixing glass, add your spirits... and then let the boba steep in the spirits. Then you can add ice and stir everything to chill and dilute. In this way, you can impart the very flavor of the cocktail Into The Boba Itself. It feels obvious in hindsight, but I am simply very happy that it has worked for me today.
Obviously, with a boba drink, this should be a tall glass of something, likely topped with soda or tonic. Otherwise... how are you going to get the boba out? You need a big straw For Practical Reasons.
In any case, I've done this solely with the Americano cocktail so far, but perhaps I shall try a weirdass Gin Ricky... or a Scotch and Soda? Can you imagine. Scotch flavored boba. I am imagining a scotch enthusiast swooning from shock, and it amuses me greatly. Smoky boba though... ?
