Would it kill people to stop acting like emotion-sensitive pokemon not liking someone is a red flag on that person's part? Some people are depressed or otherwise mentally ill. They literally cannot help it. Some people are just very emotional. What do you want them to do about it??

okay. fine. ig I'm ebegging because I don't think I can feasibly make enough money in a short amount of time. im keeping this short so ask for more details if you'd like. I can prove I am a real person if needed.
my mum and I have eight rescue cats from over the years that we simply can't take care of after we've been forced out of our house. the executor of the estate is illegally throwing away all of our belongings that we couldn't take with us. my 60+ year old mum is already working herself to the bone while I'm disabled and unemployed. we are trying but can't keep up.
please don't worry about me if you're also struggling. if you have some extra money, please consider tossing a few dollars my way. I can't do formal commissions right now but I can try to draw art in return when everything is more stable. link to my art tag ;
current goal: $0 / $500 || pypl.me / k0fi
my estimates for this goal are ; $75 for a single vet visit, $90 for antibiotics, $200 for xrays $150 for a P.O. box the people we're staying with are asking for us to do

Can you imagine if all dinosaur pokemon had gone extinct/evolved into something else. Crazy world we'd live in.

No, I believe you're right, I think I slightly misspoke/was unclear in terms of ancestry — like I said, I'm not an archeologist or paleontologist, plus I'm speaking in a second language. (Trying to translate science is ridiculous.) This information is also constantly changing; when I was a bit younger, archen really was commonly thought to be the direct ancestor of most bird pokemon! That, and we didn't think archeops was an evolution of it. I'll have to try and find some old picture books that went over it from the 80s or 90s; I'm sure plenty of you will find the "facts" and illustrations hilarious with current day knowledge in mind.
I appreciate the extra information I didn't go over as well! It's really great to see young adults — teenagers, even! — sharing what they know just for the sake of it. I'll have to keep the distinction you pointed out in mind in the future!
So are archen birds or reptiles? I want one so badly and I'm not sure what kind of vet I should seek out if I was able to get my hands on one.
Things get tricky when you start trying to figure out classifications like this. Bird pokemon both are and are not considered reptiles at the same time, depending on what type of clarification you use; phylogenetically speaking, they're reptiles, but if you use the older Laventon Classification System, birds are considered distinct from reptiles due to having different physical traits such as feathers.
Putting pokemon into groups is harder than you'd think, because we have so much diversity in our world; whenever you come up with a hard rule, you'll find something that breaks it.
So, basically: it's complicated. Archen are reptiles, but they have many of the characteristics of birds, so much so that they often fall into my field of ornithology. However, if you go to your average pokemon veterinarian who specializes in either birds or reptiles, they'll probably be a bit out of their element due to archen being a pokemon that's extinct in the wild. You'll have to find a vet who specializes in fossil pokemon and feels confident in caring for an archen. You'll probably have to call around until you find someone.
That said, send pictures if you do get one! They've always fascinated me, since they're a common ancestor of many bird pokemon today.

You ever get the ones that think they know more about the place than you? The person that lives there? Or the ones that ask if you've been to a place and when you say nah they immediately start acting all superior and 'explain' it to you? God it's fun to fuck with those ones...
@suddenlyauntiemaya
I live in Japan. Of course I have.
I deal with foreigners relatively often in my line of work — many of them come here for specific pokemon, and the more expensive ones warrant a trip to see them and transfer in person. And there is a specific type of person who will try to explain Japanese culture to me as if I am unfamiliar with it, despite having lived here my entire life.
I think my favorite was when a man asked me if I knew of any onsen in the area, and I told him that I didn't visit them often so I wasn't sure, and he proceeded to explain to me how nudity and bathing is viewed in Kanto, insisting that I should give it a try because it's a nice experience.
I had to tell him that I am covered in tattoos and not welcome in many onsen. He seemed aware of what that implied and shut his mouth very quickly.

Hating on tourists is not only correct, it is a moral obligation. Fuck 'em.
This is true!!!!
#ic#ask#I have visited other countries as well. However I was also respectful.#Many tourists are not.

why are you always hating on tourists 😭
I live in Kanto and speak english. I have to deal with them every fucking day and they piss me off. A lot of tourists are simply rude and disrespectful of the places they are visiting. I wouldn't mind if they were even mildly polite.

have you ever gotten to work with revived fossil pokemon that are the ancestors of bird pokemon?
I have! Granted, I'm no archeologist, so my knowledge on ancient pokemon is limited, and I unfortunately don't have much to really share. I did get to take part in a local study in 2015 about aerodactyl that involved live specimens, though I was mostly just organizing data and filling out spread sheets. Still, they were amazing pokemon to witness as living, breathing creatures instead of just skeletons.
It's been theorized that spearow/fearow, skarmory, and taillow/swellow specifically share a common ancestor in aerodactyl, though it's yet to be definitively proven.
[ a photo is attached. it's of a group of researchers gathered around an aerodactyl, who's clearly used to human contact and interaction based on its body language and disinterest in them. kichi is among the group, presumably ten years younger than he is now. his hair hasn't even started going gray yet, and he's the only person present who's wearing long sleeves. ]
