The window seat! Waiting for my flight home from Vegas…as #leavinglasvegas plays in the background. An hour to kill- that one way to see it. But, for me, it’s an opportunity to observe, and capture a seemingly insignificant, forgettable moment in time. As I draw, travelers around me gaze blankly at their phones, look at their watches, or stare into the air. They’re missing it! I work quickly, jotting it all down, curious as my composition unfolds- what will this story will be? Then a child catches my eye who is present, observing this moment, taking it in. And, I remember my seven year old self pasted to the terminal window. The workers look like ants, moving in unison, almost like a dance. I feel joy in these memories and just like that the story unfolds.
