i know it sounds silly, but every time i watch something like a movie or show based around a group of teenagers, i kinda like, mourn? even if it’s a cheesy horror movie or a dumb comedy i always get kinda sad thinking about how i never got to experience something like that bc of my queerness. i never got to have a big group of friends that i could completely relate to, and i never got to have that stereotypical teenage romance that nobody bats an eye at. i’m still only in college, but i feel like i lost so much of my younger years going through shit, when in another universe it could’ve been sm easier. i know a lot of other lesbians feel the same way, but how do i get over it?

You're gonna heal that part of yourself a little bit at a time. There will be moments in your life when you experience what was absent in childhood or adolescence, and its like the self from that age steps put of the shadows of your kind to receive it. You'll laugh with friends while you play a game you dont really know the rules for, and that 16 year old kid that sat at home on a Friday night is gonna smile. I was just telling Ezra how it feels like time travel.

You don't need to try to recreate what other people had. That's like admiring clothing that was tailored to fit someone else's body. It's the fact that something they wear was modified to perfectly suit their body and theirs alone. I think you have to do that with your life. You, as a queer kid, weren't accounted for. You were handed the off the rack, designed to fit the straight kids social life. And now, now you get to craft your own. Make it fit you.
