Hundred Line Last Defense Academy Ending 001: Minor SPOILERS

LONGPOST BELOW:

So on day 25 of this route, more than half of your team falls prey to a bad cold as an actual plot point of the story. This moment naturally got me super giddy x3

After one of the various blackouts the heaters shut off in everyone’s rooms. Causing a cold chill in everyone’s rooms for the night.

Takumi was awake to hear the warning and was able to warm up. I was thinking “wait are people gonna get sick over this? Hmm there’s no way right? Just wishful thinking on my part.”

But then Takumi wakes up the next morning and only 2 other people are in the cafeteria. When Nozomi shows up a bit later she asks:

Yeah everyone else forgot to bundle up at night. I was like LETS GOOOO!!! Everyone else is sick!!! It’s an actual canon moment!!

I like how Sirei says it's "probably" not serious, but it probably is serious... xD All anime colds are DEADLY after all :3c

The next exploration mission involves getting the ingredients to make medicine for everyone. Which yeah I love that, its a good way to have a fixed team set off to gather materials.

Sadly to my disappointment, after making the medicine, that was it. No caretaking moments, they just distributed the medicine offscreen

I was so mad. This game has a majority of the team fall sick as a plot point. AND WITH NO PAYOFF.

Huge missed opportunity to not allow the player choose one specific person that they heal first, have a bonding scene, have their affinity raise by one full diamond, and THEN heal everyone else offscreen.

Like come ON at least give me something!! Everyone laid out with a deathly bad cold and having getting medicine be a mission. I love that. BUT WHERE’S MY CARETAKING SCENE?? I’m so greedy as an illness whump enthusiast, but with a scenario like this can you BLAME me??

So in my salt I just decided “FINE I’LL JUST DO IT MYSELF!!” So I got sprites of all of the people that were sick and made sick edits of them. Thought it would be fun to edit sprites again. (keep in mind, these are not only full body, but also more limited in expressions than the Raincode sprites so they were a BIT trickier to mess with.) I think I did decently tho.

I like to imagine each person gave 2 people each the medicine.

Takumi tends to Tsubasa and Yugamu

Takemaru tends to Hiruko and Shouma

Nozomi tends to Kurara and Moko

and Gaku tends to the twins.

Takumi would tend to Yugamu, because lets be real, he's another fan favorite Takumi ship of the community as I've seen, and I bet he would LOVE to be cared for by Takumi only for Takumi to likely run away... XD (such a gay freaky little man) And as for Tsubasa, idk I feel like if I had the option to choose who I wanted to tend to, it'd be Tsubasa, she's one of my favorites so I'll be biased here. I think she'd be such a cute and cooperative little patient >w< Super easygoing for Takumi.

Takemaru would naturally tend to Shouma, of course he's his little buddy! I can just imagine him feeding him some protein filled stew to give him energy and Shouma is in tears, snuggling the shiba plushie in bed as Takemaru tends to him because he thinks he doesn't deserve the kindness ;w; As for Hiruko, Takemaru likes her, but I think he'd drop the medicine off and leave wishing her well. He knows Hiruko can take care of herself and won't sully her reputation.

And of course Nozomi would want to be tending to her 2 gal pals. Specifically Kurara given the two recently just made up after their little drama. And despite having a cold, Moko would probably still want to help Nozomi tend to Kurara but Nozomi just ushers her to bed because she's still not well herself x3 I think Kurara would be the more fragile of the 2 (especially without her mask, but she can't wear it while she's running a fever lol)

and that leaves Gaku to deal with the twins. By process of elimination there's no real personal connection, but since the twins are the youngest, and Gaku likely tended to his own siblings, he'd probably be okay with tending to them. But I bet the caretaking would be chaos with Ima snapping at him every time he tries to help Kako. (may as well be chaos for gaku, everything is chaos for him)

Anyway yeah I just wanted to gab about this moment. It annoyed me, but it also gave my the motivation to make more edits. Been a while but yeah may as well make HL edits if I don't wanna make any art... xD

So @kazinsblog sent me another amazing gift and I just wanted to share it. Remember those beta nuis she made of Yuma and Makoto? Well I asked if I could have them and she sent then to me as a late birthday present c:

But she added more to it. Originally they wore some nui clothes she bought based on Sanrio (it didn't quite fit them) but because the bodies of these dolls are so complicated, she decided to try making her own clothes for them. And thus, the cute striped matching pjs.

She also sent blankets and a handmade bed, and some little accessories with it. And a shiki art board she illustrated. Its such a beautiful lovely gift bundle and I could not be happier with it💜💕🫶

Byoki Nuis should be a real thing. For whump enjoyers having a little nui of your top whumpee is a dream. And I’m living that dream and I could not be happier~ 🥰 These are such adorable little things and they are so amazingly made! You’re so talented Kazin! Thank you 🥰

“Don’t worry, my pokepal. We’re here for you.”

Something I made based on BrightStar’s birthday present fanfiction to me. It’s a RainCode Pokemon AU crossover story. I felt pretty down last night and I needed a distraction. So I drew this. Originally it was going to be a small uncolored doodle I’d attach as a thread to the fic, but I just kept going… xD

Description below read (its long lol)

I kinda drew out one of the scenes, however I added my own element to it. I know that the scene takes place in the normal setting of rain code, except everyone is a Pokemon. But the story itself gave me huge Pokemon Mystery Dungeon vibes so I made the setting similar to the PMD Explorers games. With the straw nested beds, the grass flooring, and the sliced berries.

Tbh, the explorers games are the elements of PMD I’m most used to and prefer. I like the idea of Pokemon living like feral creatures with small living circumstances, like cavemen. Not fully functional furnishings and machines. I feel it gives a cozier domestic aspect and it separates a Pokemon society away from us humans. They have more modern settings in the newer games, but I like the way it was done in explorers the most. So I hope you don’t mind that!

It was rather nostalgic to draw a PMD themed art again after so long. It was a game I loved drawing fanart of in the past and I even had teams with the hero and partner based off my friends. Good times…

Reading this fic got me to thinking how much I would have loved to see a whump or illness scene from the game. Having the hero, partner or even important side character fall ill to have a nursing scene with their whole team tending to them. (The closest we got was the Manaphy post game quest before releasing it to grow up in the sea)

So I did just that. I used the fodder from Bright’s story to create this little piece where Team NDA help their newest member through a status ailment, known as a BRNing fever. (Plus yay an excuse to draw yuma sick as an eevee :D)

Everyone has a role to play in his recovery.

The patient, Kokovee is lying in the infirmary nest bed feeling exhausted, sick and miserable where he is tended to by the rest of his team. Yakgrowth makes sure he stays warm by using his many vines to force wrap a blanket around him, also to monitor his temperature, and to try to feed him. (I can see him doing all sorts of tasks with all his vines, Grass types are grade A caretakers :3) Liepara uses their sharp claws to slice the berries that are brought as medicine to be easier for him to consume. Oran berries for his energy, Rawst berries to settle the heat, and Persim berries to prevent any confusion (delirium) that might be caused by the illness. Desuhichu walks up to him and connects his cheek to his to loan him some energy his way. (though this only works on other Pikachu, it does not harm the sick shiny Eevee) Celibuki uses her psychic powers to pre-soak the towels in the stone bowl for cooling him off later, Duskullgami can’t do much but she makes sure her partner is at least comfortable, and Vivisol merely stands guard. He doesn’t do too much but he forewarned the team of the disaster beforehand so they got everything ready. He did help in his own way... XD

I was actually inspired partially by @asaka-lucy-dr-rc’s birthday work for me where everyone helps tend to sick Yuma in their own way. I wanted to do something similar, except they’re Pokemon now... xD

Desuhiko and Yuma's forms were designed by me, as Eevee and Pikachu are the only Pokémon I have confidence in drawing. It's why everyone else is kinda offscreen (that and to focus on kokobolt since Bright wrote this story as an extra service to her XD)

Ya'll cannot force me to draw anyone else completely so they are just there, feet and heads cut off LOL at Vivia's big-ass claws (shinigami was interesting to try though)

The other designs belong to @snivyartjpeg as part of their own PMD AU. Seems Bright used them for this story, so I had to draw them too. (sorry biggie I know sick whump isn't your thing, but I had to credit you... X'D)

But yeah it was fun to draw this out! (kinda needed a stress reliever)

--- Once again, Happy Birthday, Pixel! 🎉 I’ve been saying for about a year now that I wanted to make a proper sick art painting someday, and I’m happy to say that I finally did. Haha 😄

I had a hard time deciding what to draw. I really liked your idea of tenderness exchanged in a moment of illness, so I considered drawing multiple scenes and combining them like stained glass. But if I did that, I’d probably have to reduce the level of detail in each one to finish it by your birthday. I didn’t want to go with an ordinary composition either, so I ended up with this perspective—looking down at Yuma lying on the sofa. I hadn’t planned it that way at first, but in the end, it kind of feels like looking down into a crib, and I really like that. hehe

The theme for this project was “messy, but still cute.” I had decided from the start that Yuma would be the main focus of this picture, so I paid close attention to making sure his face looked cute. At the same time, I wanted to make him look as messy and pathetic as possible:

It was challenging to paint a pretty face while also making it look disheveled—hot and sweaty, with tears and a runny nose from all the coughing. To be honest, I feel there’s still room for improvement in that regard. So, at some point, I’d like to try drawing it again from a different perspective.

By the way, you may have noticed that I drew the pattern for Yuma's pajamas based on your design!

I liked the pattern of the key that suited him so much that I wanted to draw it someday, and I finally did it this time. I liked the picture linked above, so I matched the temperature displayed on the thermometer to it:

Oh, and I assume Vivia has moved under the sofa in case something happens to Yuma, so he can take care of Yuma quickly. If I hide Desuhiko, this is how he is:

I also hope he is secretly responsible for putting the tissues on the floor in the trash. (But I don't think he would bother to clean up a full trash can, so that would be left until Yakou cleaned it up... 😂) There are many other aspects of your past work that I’ve referred to, but it would be too much to explain them all, so I’ll leave it at that. Finally, I’d like to show you a time-lapse:

(It may look like the colors were applied in an instant, but in reality, 85% of my work time is spent on line drawing, and only 15% is spent on coloring. So if you fast-forward it, it may seem like the coloring was done in an instant. 😅)

Baby Makoto AU Doodle Dump 🐣(2)

Some more doodles of the little guy to get it out of my system~ Feel free to peek but I’ll still hide it under a keep reading bc some people probably aren’t fans of this AU. Dw all of these arts are cute/wholesome.

So, after giving it some thought I think this AU would make more sense in a modern setting. In this au Yuma is just a top detective, the NDA is the agency he works for and all the nda characters are his colleagues and friends. And Makoto is an orphan child that Yuma finds and adopts on one of his cases. No homunculi, no endless rainy city, no core mysteries. Just a modern setting with a short pro detective and his adopted son.

That's all the change I’ll make to this AU. As much as it would be cool to have that be the setting in RC, it would be too complicated and the world would be too different without Makoto as the CEO, and this is my first au. So I shouldn’t make it too difficult to manage. It's practically a modern adoption AU for Makoto and Yuma.

The same scenarios from this post still applies. Yuma is a serious no nonsense detective at first, and Makoto barely opens up to him until much later due to his pervious situation. But their growing bond helps them feel less lonely as a family and helps both of them develop further as their own people while having someone to rely on.

But yeah just some cute little doodles I made the past few days because I was in the mood. (And I’m back in school again so art updates MIGHT be slow so I figured I’d make a bunch to get it out of me before I'm too busy... ;w;)

I'll try to build on this au more, but for now have some more art :3

I just want them both to be happy ;w; And I think they can bring happiness out in each other as a family <3
