That is such an interesting theory!! It would make sense with how many things have a logical explanation in the game.

Though I always suspected they were genetic considering the Clockfords or the physical form of someone's talent (Desuhiko and Melami for example).

Then again I did once post about how I suspected it could also be related to what someone desired most.

The WDO is definitely not above buying children tho, with the way they just flat out let one guy be in charge of everything. Who knows what the older Number Ones were like.

Everything in rain code can be explained by weird science except Fortes so what if the WDO created Fortes like it's a special serum injected into newborns which like alters there Gene's or something,

and there's like a test to pick which baby has heights intelligence and will get the injection or maybe it's an agreement with the parents like "hey parent so we need detectives (because they keep dying ) we will give you money if you let us inject your kid with an unexplained serum"

And after the child is injected there ability forms based on stronger desires but it doesn't always work,it depends on the person

Yes, his hair color turned pale/ash blonde due to genetic mutation during isolation in the UG research facility.

At first, he basically had the same appearance as Number One, he had an angelic and clean appearance, with pale lavender hair, and a small ahoge. He was able to pass all the immortality and intelligence tests, demonstrating that he had inherited everything from the original, but something went wrong and it was the Coalescence.

The Coalescence demonstrated failures in some tests causing Labkoto to act on impulse when he should not show emotions, as the tests were negative, he was considered a failure and was imprisoned in a cell, mistreated and starved. A few weeks went by and he ended up getting worse mentally, even though he begged them to stop, they didn't stop, he cried, screamed, and apologized several times. The breaking point was when a scientist came in to put food in a bowl for him, and he attacked, he killed them one by one in an extreme hatred he began to feel for them.

Until he was alone, at first, he used his remaining intelligence to eat the scientists' food, days and weeks passed, and the hunger did not go away, and the bodies began to rot. Even if he couldn't die there, the pain of hunger wouldn't go away, alone with no one, he ended up devouring the scientists that remained there, until only bones were left hidden throughout the abandoned facility. After 1 year, he started eating insects and even rats that he passed by, with each passing day in those 3 years, his body had to adapt to this horrible life.

His teeth had to adapt to the meat and hard things he was eating. He would go several days without eating, starting to get thinner, without sunlight and care, his hair grew too much and lost its angelic lavender color, becoming paler, dirtier and burnt.

Even if he takes a bath, the lavender color will not return, If he had stayed alone in the facility for more years, his body would have gone crazy, become skeletal and his sanity would have completely disappeared, he would have turned into an animal and it would have been harder to recover humanity.

So yeah, he suffered mutation, stress, and biochemical failure to stay in this physical state becoming different from Number One and Classic Makoto. The only positive thing is that the scientists died, the homunculus project didn't go ahead and Kanai Ward is all fine and human. And without rain and without being an isolated place. 🤔

Don't forget that he was so jealous and clingy towards Shuichi after he rescued him...
