I live in the Midwest, do you have any idea what they might be? (The stripe on their back is rather orangey, which didn’t show up too well bc of the lighting)

Sure, it’s a rove beetle! I don’t recognize which species offhand, so if you wanted an exact ID, I’d need a specific state. But rove beetles are easy to ID by their tiny little elytra (beetle shell) and long exposed abdomen. :)

I'm visiting someone special, and I must say that Michigan has so many unique insects!!!

The pictures of the butterflies are from a local museum!!!

The last bug is a weevil, I believe, and I'm so happy because they're one of my favorite kinds of bug!!!

Stroll in the Danube valley with beautiful willows, Eurasian coots (Fulica atra), Marbled white (Melanargia galathea), jewelwings (Calopteryx virgo) and mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris). Weird to think this small river will flow almost 3000 kilometers from here into the Black Sea.

If you could have a social cuddly bug friend, what bug would you pick? I would have a really hard time choosing between a spider, a wasp or maybe the centipede? They are all favourites of mine… But I love so many bugs, I would find it hard to choose only one!
