so. picture this: monte carlo. i’m walking, not looking where i’m going because i’m digging in my bag for something (probably sunscreen, i don't remember). and then—bam. i walk straight into someone.

it’s darren cahill. darren. i froze. he laughed. he laughed. and then i—because i am nothing if not consistent in my chaos—majorly fangirled. i told him i’d been a fan of his since i first saw him play in 1986. yes. i said the year out loud. yes. i dated myself. yes. he was lovely about it.

cut to rome. we cross paths again. he remembers me. like full-on, grinning, “we’re not colliding again today, are we?” energy. sir. SIR.

i was DECEASED. crumbled into clay dust on the spot. who gave this man the right to have a perfect memory, a charming smile, and the ability to emotionally vaporize me with one sentence???

i’ll be journaling “darren cahill recognised me” in cursive and crying into a racquet for the foreseeable future.

p.s. catch me at roland garros walking backwards just in case.

i’m home. finally.

after a wild, completely unplanned six weeks of chasing tennis around the clay courts of europe—i’m exhausted. i’m sunburned in weird places. i’ve forgotten what day it is. did i eat a baguette for every meal? maybe. did i yell vamos at strangers? possibly. no regrets.

saw darren in rome and promptly lost the ability to form coherent thoughts (standard). the man was wearing sunglasses and giving instructions and i swear time slowed down.

going to spend the next few days sleeping, doing laundry, and trying to remember how to be a person again… before turning around and heading to paris on sunday. but this one is at least planned.

🌇 Arrived in Madrid after another epic road trip Barcelona → Madrid, and my heart’s just full.

I’m here for the tennis, but the travel has been a story of its own. Unexpected friendships, a growing playlist of road trip songs, and… a few detours of the very adult variety.

Next stop: the Caja Mágica. 🎾✨

✨ Reading Outside My Comfort Zone ✨

So... Fourth Wing. Not my usual genre (fantasy + dragons??), but here I am, giving in to the hype like the rest of Bookstagram.

If you know me, you know I usually stick to contemporary romance, horror, and the occasional brooding vampire—but Fourth Wing promises enemies-to-lovers tension, dramatic stakes, and something called “war college,” so… I’m intrigued. Possibly scared. Definitely curious.

I’ve seen Lord of the Rings, I loved Beach Read, and I yell “JUST KISS” at fictional characters often enough to feel emotionally prepared.

Will I fall in love with a dragon? DNF after 40 pages? Stay tuned. 🐉📖
