I don't have the time to go say this and why I find this such an issue, but bringing a game that has previously been unreleased in the West and marketing it as such only to change it is a lot of BS. Still need to get to ACR's remake but from what I've seen... OOOF.

Anyways, I urge you all to go and experience the originals if you're new to the series.

Been a while for here but I'm here to report I finally got to Another Code: Recollection. Really bad as a remake even if there's care poured into it, should be marketed more as a retelling of the story because damn they changed so much and it really bothers me. Sigh.

Hello! I just finished playing Another Code Recollection lately and saw your post about how it changed a lot of things. I only played the original DS version but I never managed to play Another Code R (never owned a Wii :[ also for the longest time I wasn't even aware there was a sequel). I did notice some story differences between the remake and the DS version like scenes being shorter and character motivations being different, but what other stuff did they change?

I unfortunately haven't got to the Another Code R part of things (I'm talking about Two Memories respectively here, I honestly didn't expect for others to see this) but yeah, I just think the whole thing of my issue with this is how I think Ashley acts very differently to how I remember her acting in the DS game, (I did notice this when I played the demo), and the pacing feels way off? My dissatisfaction is more with how they changed so much for a remake of a game stuck on consoles with gimmicky console related controls that make the originals harder to access. If I ever feel like it I'll get to analyzing what really seems to be changed but I'm a college student very short on time :(

I just think the execution is strange, and I did notice the game has entirely different scriptwriters from the original game too.

in 2016, ghm made an official twitter account for tokio morishima to host a series of tweets called the “placebo 前日譚”—the placebo prequel. they’re supposed to promote the hd release of the silver case, so you can think of them as a kind of sister piece to the pre-lunatics comic. this account was only ever published in japanese, and it never got an official translation, so under the cut i’ve translated the entire account just for you :) enjoy

Juvenile red-eared slider turtles are called “green turtles.” Green turtles start out small enough to fit in your hand, have a beautiful green color, and they waddle around, so they’re popular with kids. But green turtles grow bigger and bigger.

As they get bigger, the stripes on their heads and legs get more noticeable. The claws get sharp too.

I have no idea why it's the only red spot, but the markings with black rims behind the eyes look like red ears. That’s why Red is Red.

On the other hand, the color of his shell is starting to fade.

Someone once said something to me when they saw that Red had grown too big to fit in the palm of my hand.

The night I first received the email asking me to report on the Kamui case, I was drunk, and just as I was about to write a random reply, I lost interest and tossed my keyboard aside.

Then I consulted a long-time friend.

What’s going to begin now?

Red seemed restless and was fidgeting in his tank.

I didn't know Red when he was a green turtle. Well, it's not that I didn't know him, it’s that I actually don't remember. There was an aquarium in the corner of the room, and the owner of the aquarium was Red. I owned the room. I probably came up with the name Red by myself. I didn't really have any friends.

Red was timid, and I always wondered why he was so easily frightened. Sometimes I felt like he was being cowardly in place of me. When I think about it, he always seemed to have an anxious heart. Even when he was sleeping, he would suddenly shake his head, kick his hind legs, and make weird noises.

One day, Red realized that the reason he was so anxious was because he didn't know why he was here. But that was a dangerous thought.

I was in a place where only a faint light was shining through. Gray memories of being a green turtle. It's my only memory from that long ago.

“Why am I here?”

I couldn’t explain it, but when I tried to think about it, I felt like I was going insane.

In order to avoid going crazy, I needed to immerse myself in ordinary life. I needed busy work. That's why I decided to reply to the email.

Now, let the game begin.

It’s been 24 years since Faust: Seven Games of the Soul released as of today. Even if this is a very flawed game that struggles to execute its ideas, it’s ultimately one of the best works of art I have seen coming out of the adventure genre and one that made me respect the western side of the adventure genre as a whole.

Very much happy this game exists. I beat it again last night and I’m glad to say I am not some crazy maniac who reads too hard into this game because my boyfriend understands its idealogy too. It’s art, and honestly, if you’re not getting that outta the game I am a bit disappointed.

hey y'all, i just wanted to say im probably going to be stepping away from using tumblr as a social media from now on, i find it as a platform something that really induces my invasive thoughts just due to how it is and i think i'm just gonna start posting elsewhere.
