I know you keep asking people to put their age in their bios but what if they prefer to have something vague like 18+ for the sake of privacy and safety? Is that okay with you?

So personally no I'm not comfortable with that especially considering I do prefer to interact with people who aren't freshly 18 for my own comfort but also because 18 is quite literally the cutoff and what people say. Many people short hand "no one interact under 18" by just saying "18+" which says nothing about the age of the author.

Your age, if over 18, doesn't actually provide anyone with any more privacy violating information than your handle does. I'm 30. Do you know how many 30 year olds there are in the world? Even narrowing it down to 30 year old trans men isn't really leading information. I'm not saying where I live or what I look like or giving you my phone number or even my name. It's just a number. And I know some people are embarrassed by their age but it's not incumbent on me to make room for the comfort of others on my blog. It's up to them to decide how uncomfortable they are and what they are or are not willing to accept. There are other blogs to see and follow.

That said I would be more comfortable with a "over 21" or something like that rather than just 18+ but that's really more case by case I think
