Volleyball is my Sport: Narrative
My hobby when I was just a little kid up until now is playing volleyball. Back then, I used to play it together with my siblings, and that’s how I discovered my potential to become a volleyball player. By participating in the intramurals from elementary until junior high school, I improved my skills and learned new techniques for playing volleyball. Volleyball is a fun sport that makes my body athletic, and besides, it helps me gain new friends because of the players who have the same interest as me. My family, who has been the primary reason volleyball became my hobby, has been very supportive since the first day. I believe that playing volleyball can improve me in different aspects, and by putting in a lot of passion and practice, I can be a better player in the future.

The Food that I Love: Descriptive
My favorite food is almost everyone's favorite. Most of the time, the shape of this delicious food is round, but as time goes by, upgrades and innovations are being done, so now it can be heart or square-shaped. The flavor of this food varies among different countries, making it a worldwide food. The toppings of this food are like layers of clouds which has diverse beauty on every bite. Some shops allow customers to customize their food—mushrooms, cheese, bell peppers, pineapple, etc. The different ingredients can be mixed as one that can result in a portion of excellent mouth-watering food. The potent smell can get you addicted and more hungry while waiting for it to be baked. Lastly, the crunchiness of its crust will make you leave no trace up to its last bite.

Qualities of a Leader: An Argumentative
A leader can see how they can improve things and rally people to a better vision. A leader doesn't only see what its members can see, but he/ she looks more at what's ahead of their journey. According to an article written by Peter Economy, there are five essential qualities of a great leader clarity, decisiveness, courage, passion, and humility. A leader is clear and concise at all times, making opportunities for others to digest their goals. He/ she shows excellent consistency in his/ her decisions and doesn't even hesitate to commit once they make up their minds. A great leader also possesses courage and adapts fearlessness to achieve or do their role correctly as a fantastic leader making their members respect them more. He/ she is also passionate in everything that he/ she does, and by doing so, he/ she can lead his people to continue following his/ her vision or goal. Last but not least, a great leader possesses humility which creates an attractive persona. A great leader knows when they are wrong and take criticism as an opportunity for growth. As stated by Jon C. Maxwell, "A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way."

Mental Health, The One We Should Value: An Essay
Every day, as the world revolves around it, many things happen, and those happenings eventually became too much to handle. Before, we mostly experience the most significant things in life, but now, it seems that it tests our patience and our will to continue to live. Our dreams and goals are transformed into realities, preventing us from experiencing happiness and contentment in our hearts. The expectations that we have are changes drastically, and the truth is given to us just like a slap in the face. Life is like a roller coaster ride that is so full of ups and downs, and if we weren’t able to handle those experiences properly, it might result in severe problems in our life. That is why if there is something that I value the most at the moment, it would be my mental health. Mental health is referred to as the emotional and psychological well-being of a person. Good mental health can help to demonstrate resilience and the ability to cope in the face of life’s adversaries. However, poor mental health is finding it difficult to manage how we think, feel, and act concerning daily stresses.
Pandemic, lockdown, new standard set-up, and the online learning situation----- those were the situations that shocked all people in every country. At first, I thought that this would end fast and, when the government implemented the lockdown, I felt that we would just wait for a week or two, and everything will be back again to regular. However, our expectations will never really met our reality. It has been over a year already, but still, everything is not back to normal. The virus is still there, killing millions of people worldwide and giving troubles in every single nation. This is too much to handle, right? No matter how strong we are as a person, there will always a point in our life where we will just get sad while reminiscing. It feels like those memories will just become now as the good old days. Physical interaction without any restrictions, and most people can be seen their happiness through their smiles because there are no marks to hinder its beauty. This pandemic has put us into an invisible jail where we were locked up, waiting for that today when people can be free again without fear of sickness.
This situation affects our mental health because the sudden change can cause a significant impact on a person. We usually do it before it can’t be done anymore, making us think of some possible alternatives in this kind of situation. We should care about our mental health, just like how we care about our physical health. Some people say that mental health is not as important as physical health, which is wrong. Mental health and physical health are both important because it has different works or responsibilities on our body. There is a lot of news about people being depressed or stressed because of the current situation plus other personal problems. With those adding up together on a person’s mind, one can get crazy if stress did not handle it properly. The power of our mental health is extreme that it can keep permanent marks on our heads for a long time. We never know what runs on each person’s mind. A great and fierce battle against oneself is always happening there, yet only a few can pay attention to this. We should learn that invisible fighting is the worst, and we should appreciate and congratulate those who successfully go through this phase because it shows their courage to live.
There are many advantages when a person cares for his or her mental health. Good mental health can help us to enjoy life and our environment and also the people around us. We, as a person, can become better individuals, and we can cope with the difficult times in our personal and professional lives. We can do some ways to maintain our mental health healthy, like getting physically healthy or fit, eating right, and controlling stress. Both getting fit and eating right are connected as it shows that we try to do our best to keep our mental health good, we should take care of our physical health at the same time. Stress is necessary for our life no matter how much we long for a stress-free existence. Learning to cope with pressure effectively can ease our bodies and our minds. If we don’t take care of our mental health correctly and ignore behavioral health symptoms, it can worsen the condition or a loss of life because of suicide. Some use alcohol or other drugs, which can’t help our problems, but instead, it can worsen them.
We value something because we think it is unique. My mental health is special to me because it gives me the courage to continue living my life to the fullest despite all the negative happenings around me. Yes, there are always downfalls, yet we all needed to have a strong will to succeed in those fights. Remember that you are never alone. If you think that you’ll blow up, then talk to the person you trust the most. It is never easy. But still, we should learn that there’s at least one who can help us. Let us meditate and pray- that is our extreme action to make. Do not underestimate mental issues just because you can’t see them. Sometimes the invisible is way scarier than the visible. Take note that Maxime Lagace once said that “Life gets better when health becomes your first priority.”

The New Normal: A Reflection
The new normal situation has brought shock and curious expression to most students at the beginning of this school year. It was indeed very unique to every person, both the teachers, and the students. At first, it was hard to cope because it looks pretty troublesome, and we, students, are not well-prepared for this kind of change. The atmosphere of this new system is way too different from what we used to do. The old way of learning was full of physical interactions from students and teachers, and also, I must admit that those memories, even when there are times that school works are so complete yet we don't feel drained. But now, even we were sitting all day long, but still feel very tired and lonely. At those times, I felt like I am going to fail this school year because, just like what I said earlier, it's hard for me to come up with this situation, and I also felt that I couldn't go with the flow, just like how my other classmates and schoolmates can manage. However, as months pass by, they pick up knowledge and skills while learning a new normal situation. Of course, it is hard to figure out. It took a lot of time before I realize all of this. Those were the importance of not giving up, caring for our mental health, and time management.
First off is the importance of not giving up. It is not new to hear the word "never give up," but it brought a new significance because of this pandemic. Yes, before, those words do not seem very impactful for me because I almost hear them everywhere, and there are posts from different media that I can see every day. "Never give up" is such a short word, but it has a very long and beautiful meaning. By saying that phrase or sentence to a person, you can never imagine how great the impact of your words for him or her. It can give courage to a person to continue living his life no matter how challenging the situation is or no matter how confusing those circumstances we are facing. Most, if not all, of us, have experienced or are currently experiencing a lack of clarity about our life's dreams and goals. When we used to think that we should keep our chin up and continue walking on the path that we are taking towards success, we did not see a tiny rock that caused us to stumble and fall. After that incident, you cried and cried and have come to the thought of giving up. Do you think that if you gave up that easily, you'd be able to walk the path towards your success? No, right? But if you stand up and continue walking now more carefully, sooner or later, you'll get there. That dream of yours which seems to be far can be achieved. This new standard setup in studying or online learning is just a circumstance towards our fundamental goal of success. If we give up easily, we'll never reach the point where we will succeed and grab those dreams into our hands.
The second thing that I learned during this school in my eleventh year as a student is the importance of mental health. Mental health is the psychological and emotional well-being of a person. Mental health is essential at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood. Nowadays, we encounter many stressors in our everyday life, and those stressors were not handled properly, which may result in some serious mental health issues. This pandemic gave the virus to people, but it also triggered the mental health of every person. There were reports of people who had gone crazy because of the lockdown because she thinks that she has been locked up. Also, there were reports of suicide cases from various people, especially adolescents, because they can't take the pressure of online learning anymore. Because of the current situation, we couldn't meet people, especially our friends and acquaintances which we used to interact with before. We can only meet up through a cell phone or laptop screen, which raises our longings on our loved ones from far away. I learned the importance of mental health, especially in this current situation, because it is hard to face this reality while battling with yourself. We must learn to fight our battles and won against those invisible wars in our minds. By doing so, we can survive this new kind of learning.
The last thing that I learned this school year was time management. Time management is defined as planning and controlling how much time to spend on specific activities. Good time management enables individuals to complete more tasks in a short period, lowers stress, and leads to career success. As we are at home and not in school, we cannot just remove the household chores as part of our everyday tasks. Because of this, we sometimes mixed up some of our school works and home works, which is very annoying, especially when we got so much to do. We should be exhausted by the amount of work that needs to be done every day, resulting in a loss of interest in everything we do. Time management is essential when studying because it allows students to complete more in less time. After all, their attention is focused, and they are not wasting time on distractions such as social media. In addition, it gives you extra time to do other activities, and it exempts you from procrastinating and cramming.
This year has been new to everyone. From students to teachers, everyone has adapted their everyday work to accommodate the new way of learning. Despite the hindrances, we can still complete a whole school year, and we are again preparing for another adjustment. It has been challenging for everyone, but we still did a great job fulfilling our responsibilities to reach our dreams. Someday, when the world is finally healed, and we can finally interact without any restrictions, we can create another set of learnings and memories for us to use in our lives. The importance of never giving up, our mental health, and time management is not only applicable to our studies, but we can also connect it to our personal life. It can help us to improve ourselves and learn at the same time.
