Kimchi-making adventure 1.0 - A massive failure

So my first selfmade Kimchi batch was a comedy of errors and basically inedible:

Not long enough outside the fridge to start ferment (no time for the good bacteria)

Too warm starting temperature (beneficial for bad bacteria)

Not enough brine in the jar (good for bad bacteria to chomp on the veggies)

Added (too much) carrots (has very high sugar content - feeds rapid growth of all kinds of bacteria and yeasts)

Jar wasn’t airtight or had an airlock (oxygen lets all kinds of microbes in to party)

too much salt (bad bad taste - but good because otherwise even more bad microorganisms)

Unrelated to fermentation:

Way too spicy (pain and death)
