FFXIV Baseball Team!

I made this a while ago but then they came out with jerseys for Tokyo Fanfest, so I needed to re-make their uniforms to match. I also made a neat Aetheryte logo for the hat!

Definitely had to take some liberties with character appearance.... (gender locked hairstyles... blah!)

This is my Azem, Astaria.

Like Katina, she also fights with a sword and shield, specifically using concepts she learned from Venat. True to what we know about canon Azem, she's a fairly free spirit that generally does what she wants, but she will also fiercely protect anyone or anything she cares for.

Lore dump! Because I just thought of this!

The reason Katina cut her hair so short during Heavensward was because, since they were fugitives, she figured she should change her appearance a bit to hide better.

Tataru helped her cut it. Haurchefant provided moral support and plenty of compliments. (He actually really liked how this very short crop looked on Katina!)

Katina and Tataru did also jokingly suggest Alphinaud do the same to hide his identity, but of course he adamantly refused.

She kept it this way for a while even afterwards, partially because of how Haurchefant had liked it, and partially she was too lazy to style her hair in the mornings and liked how low maintenance it was to just keep it this short. It wasn't until post-Endwalker that she decided to grow it back out to her ARR length (which was already very short) when she wanted to change things up a bit.

(OOC: I reached Heavensward around the time 6.3 came out, and with it this "close shave" hairstyle was also released. I've always liked the idea of Katina rocking a buzz cut for a while, so I went for it, coincidentally around the same time that I fantasia'd from Midlander to Highlander. The highlights didn't become a thing until later, since I didn't like how spotty they were on that hairstyle, but after reading several fics and headcanons about light corruption changing hair colors on some WoLs I retconned that as the reason why she has them from Shadowbringers onwards, as I was already post-Shadowbringers when I had the idea. I thought it would be a nice lore-related excuse for why it looked spotty. Which of course doesn't matter much when I'm using a different hairstyle now lol.)

A lot of people in my FC also play Splatoon, so I drew the Twins as Inklings!

I have ideas for the rest of the Scions too, so I’ll probably follow up on this later ;)

I think Dawntrail is really going to make or break any shipping potential for Katina. As much as I really like Urianger, there’s still kind of a lack of evidence that he sees the WoL as more than a colleague.

Hmm, a love triangle could be fun to write? I mean, Katina is enough of an oblivious dumbass when it comes to love that she could definitely end up conflicted on how she feels about two of her best friends 😝
