Opie's blood went cold at the mention of his kids. He frowned and shook his head. "Lyla took em... a while ago. Months ago." It wasn't unexpected that Jax wouldn't know... Lyla wasn't around the club much anymore. Last he heard, she'd moved out of Charming, out of California even. He was glad for it though. He didn't want his kids to end up as fucked up as he did.
"I still would like to see the the little rascals. Been away from Uncle Ope for too long." His smile returned, shallow and faint, but bright all the same.
It was short lived, however, as Jax's next words left him feeling breathless. "Careful... The last place I want to be is between you and Tara." He joked, but felt enough of the sincerity that he nodded. "I get it...We always were...well, brothers. Even before the patch." He leaned over and pulled Jax by the shoulder to kiss the side of his head.
"Hey. Jax." Opie approached his friend from out of the TM garage. "Where ya been?"
"Hey!" Jax exclaimed back, relieved to see Opie. Jax unclipped his helmet took it off and then swung himself off his bike. "I had uh to go home for a bit." Jax explained as he clapped Opie on back as part of their usual greeting.

"Hm." He grunted rather unwilling to believe the words.

Opie laughed at Jax's reaction to him opening his bottle; as he usually did. Taking a long drink, the older Son hummed, throat bulging as he took healthy gulps. "Yeah... I'd love to see em again." Abel and Thomas, the little runts. The rest made the bearded man frown.
"Sure ya can. You managed without me when I was in prison, and... when I was in the hospital." He reached over to jostle Jax's shoulder, smiling reassuringly. Albeit forced. "You're doing fine, brother."

Opie laughed softly as he turned. Another couple minutes and he was pulling up in front of Thomas' house.
Thomas smirked. “Come on, idn’t you give me a bath as a baby at least once?” He teased.

Opie read the text at a stoplight and pocketed his phone with a groan. He was only about five minutes away right then and decided not to reply in favor of talking in person. When he finally pulled up to the station, he parked and walked up. He could see his brother sitting inside, and the younger Son wandered through the door.
[text]: Can you come pick me up?

"When you were a baby sure. But you're not a baby anymore, are ya?"
Thomas smirked. “Come on, idn’t you give me a bath as a baby at least once?” He teased.

"Yep. But you're gonna have to talk to your dad for help on that one." He laughed.
"Alright. Go ahead and drink some water. Just little sips. We’re not in a hurry and you’re probably dehydrated." Stress, fatigue, heat…

"S’alright. Should I call someone to pick us up? Or are you gonna be alright on my bike?" Opie frowned in concern.

"Whoa Chibs. Wait." Opie looked up as the elder Son walked past him and stoop up. "Is your beard getting longer?"

He took the water and drank some of it, then gargled and spat. “Sorry, my head was spinning…”

"No you're not." Opie sighed as he watched Thomas with a frown. "Just... Damnit." He turned around and dug into one of his side bags, pulling out a bottle of water. The older man handed it over to Thomas to take when he was finished. "Here. Swish with this and wash yourself off..."
He launched himself off the bike and was vomiting in the nearest bush, his head aching. “Fuck…I’m gonna kill that wetback myself…”
