I hate leaving you guys hanging like this, so I’ll give an update:
As usual, I lost motivation around Christmas to finish that fic planned in time. I’ll likely finish it one day.
My life has been a bit chaotic since December. I started dating my best friend of several years (which....this entire thing resulted in a lot of personal drama), ended up quitting my job on Valentines Day and have yet to find work again, I missed the application deadline for the school I wanted to go to, but am now reassessing my choices and trying so hard to get to the same city as my boyfriend for the fall. (I just really don’t want to be where I am now anymore)
So all in all, since February my life has been a hot garbage fire and I am extremely stressed, frustrated, angry, and depressed. I’m not telling you this to garner sympathy, but I do hope you guys understand why I didn’t give an update for 2 months.
When I get things figured out, I’d love to return to writing. But for the past week I’ve been on the verge of a breakdown every day, and I don’t have the capacity to write at the moment.

stuff that feels rewarding as a fanfic author:
when your work inspires fanart/comics
when people point out a scene/particular line(s) that tugged at their heartstrings
when people ask for your meta of your work that they enjoyed so much
when someone comments on a fic you wrote 982783113502 years ago
getting recc’d
just the small happiness in knowing you made someone out there smile on their way to work/home or at school, in knowing you warmed someone’s heart somehow

Is your ao3 username the same as your blog? I really enjoy your writing and would like to continue reading your content once I’m done with tumblr.
Pretty much, it’s koyeop! (no hyphen)

Back with the FF.net and LJ shutdowns/purges/whatever, people were saving things like fanfic.
I do not give permission for you to save my works.
All of my works are cross-posted to my AO3. There is no need to save my work. I liked having requests be a fun Tumblr exclusive piece of content. I don’t really consider my requests to be my best work, so please let me know if you’d like those transferred to my AO3 as well and I will do so.
I have no plans of shutting down my Tumblr, and my works will continue to be cross-posted on Tumblr and AO3 per norm.

I don’t believe I’ll cross-post this one to Tumblr due to this blog being primarily a Mystic Messenger blog, but I will link my newest work Bittersweet Mercy, a CaramiaxFuka Ozmafia!! fanfic. My AO3 will continue to be where you can find my non-Mystic Messenger fics!

With Part 3 of Lovecraft, I actually really struggled writing it. I had to re-read my own story because I took a hiatus and forgot what even happened. I had the idea of testing the effects of Aphrodite’s Blessing at the market long before I began to work on that chapter (I’m horrible for figuring out my plot as I go). My intention with Part 3 overall was to show a growing relationship between Saeran and the reader, that way I could set the foundation for an actual romance. One of the big plot points in the story overall is “does he feel for her genuinely, or is it an effect of the potion?” so doing a scene like the one in that chapter really gave me a basis to work from. The freaky dude was added partly to showcase effects of the potion, and partly to invoke a scene that hopefully makes the heart skip a beat. Y’know the part where you’re like OH YEAH..... THIs is the SHIT,,,
The last bit with the chili flakes drawn from the ideas and concepts of modern witchcraft. I draw a lot of inspo for this series from that actually. But the idea was “how much of witchcraft is just common knowledge of properties of gems/herbs/spices ect...., and how much is “magic”? Where is the line between magic and everyday things like cooking?”
Lovecraft in general is an idea I’ve had for a long time. It originated from my desire to create an otome game one day, but using the concept of witches and modern witchcraft, astrology, tarot ect..... But I have no talent with using a program like ren’py, nor can I draw to save my life, but I can write. When I decided to start writing fanfic again, I decided to manifest that idea into a series, and I used my favourite character, Saeran to be the star.

Fanfic Writers: Director’s Cut
Reblog this if you want readers to come into your ask box and ask for the “director’s commentary” on a particular story, section of a story, or set of lines.
Or, send in a ⭐star⭐ to have the author select a section they’ve been dying to talk about!

i’ve been getting the sweetest comments on the ao3 upload of lovecraft today ajsnajdsnbhsbhsdjfjsdn
you guys are the best and you make me so happy that i did return after another hiatus. a lot of the points i stressed about when writing it are being acknowledged and what i wanted the reader to feel seems to be getting across well <3
i wanna do some oneshots/finish storyboarding all of lovecraft before i begin working on part 4. i do intend to do some fics for games other than mystic messenger, so those will be found on my ao3 exclusively, seeing as how the games i have in mind have a very tiny fanbase on tumblr (or in general.... but thats not stopping me from being caramia’s bitch....)
this doesn’t mean i wont write for mystic messenger anymore, i’ve just been struck by inspiration from other media too. but as usual, my mystic messenger content will always be cross posted on tumblr/ao3, and requests remain exclusive to tumblr

Lovecraft: Part One | Part Two | Part Three | Coming soon
Characters: Saeran Choi X Reader
Word Count: 4,632
Genre: Witchcraft!AU, Fluff, Angst
Warnings: Mentions of child abuse
Summary: After an unfortunate drunken night, you, a fortune teller who was cursed from a young age by an unknown witch, breaks your own creed and read your own fate. Seeing nothing but ruin and isolation in the future, you seek out an apothecary named Saeran, who gives you untested potion called Aphrodite’s Blessing, not for free though. In return, he wishes to study and document it’s effects on you. Can his creation not only save you from fate, but also break your longstanding curse?
You were a little thankful that Saeran had decided to meet up with you at your home rather than forcing you to walk to his shop two days in a row. The walk wasn’t necessarily unpleasant, but the days were getting shorter and colder. Thank the heavens that the flannel cloak you always wore was so warm even after all these years. If it wasn’t for the sweet heat it provided, you’d surely have frozen to death long ago. It was always in the back of your mind to purchase new boots, warmer scarves, and those gorgeous knitted mittens with the pearls sewn into the tops resembling snowflakes, but finances were tight. The overlooming thought of possibly not having money to buy food for tomorrow made you think twice about what was essential. More than often a meal and rent won over new clothing, even though it was dearly needed.
The town square’s market wasn’t too far from your street. It was quite handy, seeing as how you rarely had to travel far for anything you required. Not to mention on slower days when there were fewer vendors, you were able to set up a small table to sell readings. Fortunes, unveiling the true intentions of a relative, finding out if someone’s love was unrequited or not… Whatever anyone would request. The competitive nature of the market meant early mornings and long days to allocate a spot. It was far too troublesome, especially for a plain diviner like you who was commonly overlooked in favour of roasted sweet potatoes and fresh, bloody cuts of butchered cattle. Even if you were only able to get ten or fifteen customers every few days, the pocket change was still money in the end. It felt heavy in your pockets, you could feel the weight of each silver coin, and you treasured them as if they were your lifeline.
