 Summary:

Trey thought, not for the first time, what a beautiful, strange creature Jade Leech was. The paradoxes of him were a constant, quiet fascination. Trey’s palm rested on the cool, smooth plane of Jade’s back, a coolness that clung to him like a memory of the deep ocean. His fingers were loosely tangled in the silken, teal strands of Jade’s hair as he inhaled the scent that was uniquely his: the sharp bite of brine and the damp perfume of a forest floor, a wildness that had woven itself into the domestic scents of sugar and bread that clung to Trey. It was a scent that shouldn’t have made sense, but on Jade, it felt like coming home.

He was waiting for it. And then, it came—a voice, smooth as a stone worn by ages of tide, cutting through the stillness.

“Trey-san.”

Trey allowed a beat to pass before stirring, playing along with the pretense of being woken. “Mmm, yes, Jade?” he mumbled, pitching his voice thick with a sleep he wasn’t truly feeling.

“Would you still love me if I were a Death Cap mushroom?”

  or, Jade tests Trey with a hypothetical. Trey answers the real question hiding beneath it.

Been stuck writing a (TreyJade) fic, so I haven't had the time to draw much, but here's a small doodle that I did as a break from all that writing.

I'm really excited to finish that fic, but I also have to edit it massively before I post... I hope it turns out well!!

a student asked, his eyes narrowing at the table covered in crumbs and knocked-over teacups. Not a speck of frosting remained, except for one cherry stem placed next to a teacup. Jade just grinned wiping his mouth's edge with a napkin. They should’ve worried less about the missing tarts…and more about who else was missing.

"Oh, you silly, silly thing…are you still worried about the tarts?"

The morning light crept through the blinds, a reluctant harbinger of the day—but the first true awakening was always digital.

Fingers, moving with a muscle memory born of countless brainrotted late nights and lazy early mornings, tapped the familiar icon of Edge, seeking the comfort of TreyJade AO3.

The screen, however, did not blossom with the comforting theme of Reversi, nor did it show the usual list of 392 TreyJade works.

Instead, it was a void—a digital tombstone bearing just six chillingly polite words: "The archive is down for maintenance."

A frantic refresh, then another—a desperate prayer to the gods of bandwidth—yielded nothing but the same static betrayal.

At that moment, it felt as though the universe collapsed into nothingness—pulling me down into the silent, pixelated abyss; a freefall through a world suddenly devoid of its stories.

There was no escape—only the cold, harsh light of a reality without TreyJade fanfiction.

TL;DR—AO3 is down and I'm in pain. </3

Did you know? The Marañón poison frog (Excidobates mysteriosus) is often found in or near bromeliad flowers. The bromeliads offer shelter and provide it with water, which pools in its petals! The frog also uses bromeliads as a place to lay its eggs. Known for its unique call, which has been described as a rattle-like buzz, this species lives in a small region in northwestern Peru, where it inhabits montane forests. The roughly 1-in- (2.5-cm-) long frog is endangered and faces threats posed by habitat destruction and smuggling for the pet trade.

Trey Clover was a study in controlled contradictions. He projected an image of steadfast normalcy, yet possessed a sharp, observant mind and, apparently, a history with rogue sourdough. He adhered to rules yet seemed quietly accepting of nature's (and perhaps Jade's) inherent unpredictability.

It made him difficult to read, difficult to predict fully. And Jade found that... intriguing.

His train of thought was cut short by the tickling sensation that resurfaced deep in his throat. Another dry, persistent itch, almost like breathing in fine dust. He cleared his throat quietly, then again, trying to dislodge the irritation. It remained, a low-level annoyance distracting him from the intricate lines before him. Jade reached for his water bottle, taking a slow sip. The coolness soothed his throat momentarily, but the itch returned almost immediately.

Strange. He rarely experienced such things.

 or, Jade is obliviously in love. Violets begin to claw their way up his throat, whispering Trey's name with every petal.

I SWEAR... I WAS GOING TO POST THIS TOGETHER WITH CHAPTER 7, BUT. JADE WAS BEING A BUTT. So I needed to find a way to restore some of that brainrot. AND I WAS GETTING IMPATIENTFJSKDJS I'M SORRY.... BUT I'LL DO MY BEST TO POST CHAPTER 7 THIS WEEKEND!!!

ANyway! THE PALM-SIZED CUTIES REVEAL... YES. I BOUGHT TREYJADE NUIS!!!!!!!! RIP my money HAHAHA </3 I got them for my birthday, like a little birthday present for myself. JSJDJSK I wanted to get their dorm uniform nuis, but I couldn't find Jade's anywhere... The only one I could find that was within my budget was the lab wear. </3 So I decided to get a matching one for Trey. THEY'RE SO CUTE AGHHHHH I'VE BEEN SO IMPATIENT THE ENTIRE TIME TO REVEAL IT TO YOU GUYS BUT. I'M FINALLY POSTING THISJSKDKS

Moving on to the lore of this... creation... GUYS. I initially wanted to just. Make a 30 second video of Jade tackling Trey and dragging him away. But then when I took the video, I realized that the lighting from the flashlight made it look... a bit eerie? Like some sort of missing footage... so then I got this idea, and suddenly I ended up writing a script, and this video ended up being 5 minutes and 32 seconds long. Sigh. Also, if you noticed the sudden disappearance of honorifics—yeah, it was because I gave up on pronouncing them... I'M SO SORRY FOR THE HORRIBLE ACCENT HAHAHA My speaking still has a lot of room for improvement... </3
