Aleksi doesn’t sleep well that night. The storm picks up again in the middle of the night. Lightning flashes light up his window and the branches of the trees outside make it look like grabby arms are stretching out into his room.

When he awakes from a particular loud lightning bang, he’s covered in sweat and his heart is working overtime. His fingers are clutching onto his blankets. His entire small frame is trembling.

Aleksi can’t exactly remember what the nightmare was about, but he vaguely remembers some visions of it: a dead body in a darkened cabin, lots of blood coming out of his mouth but it’s not exactly his mouth, is it? It’s that of an older male. He’s sure he had seen two entwined triangles too but he has no idea what they all mean.

He looks around him and tries to ground himself.

 “Hold it together, Ale,” he grunts to himself.

Tomorrow, he will approach the others and ask them to return.
