Oh this one hit deep. I'm returning home from a medieval fair, and there was a knight tournament as well. I was with the dancers, helping to set up the stage, when a knight passed by. Tall, broad, in full armor and carrying a massive oaken weapon stand over his shoulder.
I just. Stopped, for a moment. I still remember the heartache of the gender envy that swept over me in that moment. Oh to be him. Oh to be one of the knights, just hanging out. Maybe heading back to grab the other weapon stand. I can't put into words how bittersweet that feels.
We made eye contact, and he gave me a warm little smile and a nod. A knight to a knight.
Fuck, man. This painting is exactly what that moment felt like.

Heyyyy so like Grinwearer is kinda fucked up about jewelry actually!
He wears a looot of earrings, but the most significant for him is the mane jewelry. He wears his mane braided in the traditional style for his region, tied by a black string into three separate strands on each side.
On special occassions, he adds trinkets and colourful string to his mane, usually these trinkets have deeper significance, too.
