I find it a little annoying that Kirk's personality has become like "golden retriever sunshine boy" in fandom spaces because it feels like a crazy over correction in retaliation to his mainstream reputation of being a macho womaniser. He is a nice person, and we see him being friendly with his crew, but people make him wayyyy too happy go lucky in fics. Like he's kind of a bitch sometimes too you know, like he's snaps at people when he's stressed out all the time! Dude loses his cool like pretty often tbh, he does apologise for being a bitch tho which is nice. I know people do it, so Spirk can be like those sun and moon, black cat and golden retriever kind of ship but it's too muchhhhh. Let Jim be a bitch pleaseeeee, let him yell at people it's his enrichment

Lois (and Clark) Middle Name Origins
Ok so this might have been obvious to some people but I only just learned it.
So in many continuities Clark Kent’s middle name is Joseph after Superman co creator and artist Joe Shuster. Smallville and some other continuities have his middle name be Jerome after the other co creator, artist Jerry Siegel.
However I only just learned that Lois Lane’s middle name is Joanne after the original model for Lois Lane, Joanne Siegel, later the wife of Jerry Siegel. I honestly love this so much— it feels very much soulmatism, they are tethered in every universe.
Although, both Superman creators were actually in love with her (for good reason) and her continual support for them throughout their journey really was integral to the character and his legacy. Everyone always talks about Siegel and Shuster but today I want to give Joanne her flowers.

For those who don’t know the story, here is the story of the real life Lois Lane (my source is Investigating Lois Lane: The Turbulent History of the Daily Planet’s Ace Reporter by Tim Hanley but this is paraphrased as he goes into much more detail):
In 1935, Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster were working on their Superman pitch and by that point knew they wanted Superman’s love interest to be a reporter. Since Shuster was a young and untrained artist, he wanted to find a live model for him to practice drawing women. High school student and aspiring model Jolan Kovacs is hired to model at Shuster’s apartment for a few sessions. She really connects with Shuster and loves their idea for their new comic. She and Shuster go on several dates until she leaves for another city for her career, but during their separation they stay in near costant contact through letters and phone calls. Amid Siegel and Shuster’s many rejections, she kept encouraging them to keep trying because she truly believed in their story. After years, they finally got published and Superman was a huge success
Joe Shuster:

Shuster was definitely infatuated with Kovacs, bordering on obsessed, and her influence could be seen all throughout his artwork, but that’s a story for another day. About a decade later, the two met up again in New York. Jolan Kovacs had changed her name to Joanne Carter, but the two remained close in touch throughout the years. Shuster decided to take Joanne out to a big cartoonist ball to celebrate their reunion, but Joanne left the dance that night not with Joe Shuster but with Jerry Siegel. Joanne and Jerry really hit it off and within 6 months they were married.
Jerry Siegel:

Sadly, the marriage along with other work frustrations broke apart Siegel and Shuster’s friendship and the two men hardly spoke for the next 25 years. Both creators didnt technically own their creation, Superman, and therefore did not receive a cent of profits for most everything their character appeared in for the following decades. They repeatedly tried to sue for ownership but kept failing, leaving both men very disheartened. By the mid-70s Siegel and Shuster’s were both in financial trouble and Joanne wouldn’t stand for it.
Joanne had always been a huge advocate for Siegel and Shuster’s getting the recognition and restitution they deserved and she realized that they wouldn’t be able to pull it off if they wouldn’t work together. She called up Joe Shuster and arranged for the men to reunite—fortunately the two became fast friends again. She helped organize a huge campaign to raise awareness about how DC had exploited her husband and friend and together they finally got DC to agree to pay both creators’ families large pensions every year for the rest of their lives and their names be credited on every subsequent Superman property.
Joanne Siegel stood up for and advocated for them when no one else would and gave them both hope during very dark times in their lives. Her determination and commitment to getting justice for them is truly admirable but rarely talked about. I love when she gets nods like this in Superman media.
Also the romantic in me can’t help but love that BOTH creators were in love with this fantastic woman who literally inspired Superman’s soulmate and then she acted as their rock, a beacon of support and hope, for both of them. One of them even married her. I mean it’s just too perfect. Lois and Clark always find their way back to each other.

Daredevil vol. 1 issue #302 (D.G. Chichester)
Matt rubs his new curtains against his cheek. He and Foggy have just moved to a new office, and he got the blinds switched to soft curtains.

Daredevil vol. 1 issue #303 (D.G. Chichester)
Matt stays up late, working while he listens to Foggy's snores.
These small moments of Matt self-soothing are a rare sight, and something I appreciate. Whenever something references the fact that Matt's hyper-senses have got to be near torture to live with, I'm reminded of my own experience being autistic. In some ways, Matt's senses must be additionally disabling, even if they do allow him to be a superhero, and I think it would be nice to see more of the other side of that shown: not just Matt getting thrown off by something overwhelming his senses, but maybe Matt stimming (like he is with the curtain in the first panel here) to help regulate his senses. Although, with the repressed emotional mess that Matt tends to be, it probably makes sense for him not to do this - even if it would help him.
As a side note, I also love the way - in terms of canon timeline, even if not publishing timeline - Matt has gone from suffering through Foggy's snoring in college to being soothed by it when his partner falls asleep in their office.

I will give Born Again this, matt’s lines about how foggy was the most pure and kind and decent person ever are great if you read them as matt’s worldview being warped by grief. because if you go back to the start of daredevil, it’s actually matt who’s pushing them to do the right thing at every turn in season one lol foggy’s kind of just getting dragged along by his sheer force of will. matt’s the one who pushes to prove karen’s innocence pro bono, he’s the one who questions wesley’s money, he leads them away from lucrative jobs at landman and zack so they can fight for the disenfranchised, he and karen are the ones who push and probe things at every turn etc. iirc foggy doesn’t even really want to go after fisk but matt is just like fogs we’re doing this now and so foggy’s like ok fine. fineeee. whatever we’ll do this stupid fisk investigation thing. it’s one of many reasons why Nelson v Murdock is so good lol it’s the exact point you can see when the reality he’s built for himself where he can just hold on tight to matt forever and rely on matt’s morality and goodness to guide him to the right thing comes crashing down. yeah so your good-natured (law) partner lied to you for years because he was afraid you’d reject the real and much less palatable him. yeah so he’s actually addicted to extrajudicial violence and in following his morals he inadvertently endangered you both. sorry
