     Keela chuckles, glancing downward for a moment. "Did I." She's not surprised. She really does hate the smell of that goddamn movie theater butter. God only knows what's actually in it-- because it's sure as hell not actual butter. "Look. That smell haunts me. It sticks to my clothes, my hair, my skin-- not that I physically touch it. Oh no. We have health codes, obviously. The smell just... finds me." 

     ”Hah! That’s, like, exactly what you said before, too.” Scottie snickered, leaning back against the locker behind her. “I think you just have some kind of unresolved rage to work through with this butter. It usually smells pretty good to me.”

     "I've been there a few times." The experience was a little underwhelming, but let's face it-- Keela is no coffee connoisseur, and the place had been decent enough. It certainly wasn't the worst place she's ever gotten coffee, anyway.  She doesn't remember ranting about the movie theater smell at all, but she supposes that she's not surprised that she did. "Oh... yeah." Keela flushes, mumbling, "It's the fuckin' butter, man... it just sticks with you..." 

"The Extreme Bean. It’s about as quality as the name suggests." As much as Scottie complains about the café, she is pretty grateful for the job. It’s easy, at least, and it pays… Well, it pays minimum wage, but it’s not like she has anything she actually needs. "You work at the movies, right? You complained about lingering popcorn smell for, like, fifteen straight minutes when you were drunk."

     "It was alright," Keela agreed, smiling a little. Her family may be dysfunctional as fuck, but they're her family, and she loves them. Even when everyone but Mom is slightly drunk on Christmas, screaming at a football (not soccer, because fuck you) match on TV. "Oh, yeah-- work. I've been doing that too." Keela makes a face. She hates it at the theater-- but hey, money is money. "Where do you work again?"

      “Oh — sounds like fun.” Scottie hopes the hint of bitterness that manages to worm its way through her doesn’t show in her voice. She doesn’t really have “family stuff,” on the holidays or otherwise, and frankly, that does sound fun. But she pushes those thoughts aside, giving Keela a genuine smile. “I’ve been working, mostly. That and practicing soccer with Roman — he gets pretty into it. Nothing too exciting, though.”

     Scottie didn't seem to be judging Keela for any of the bad decisions that she may or may not have made at the party, and Keela breathed a sigh of relief, grinning at the other girl. 

     "Oh, y'know-- family holiday stuff, mostly." She supposed that the parties that she went to with her brothers fell under that qualification, as well as the Christmas dinners with various family members. It had been the holidays, she had been with family... it counted, okay. "How about you?"

      “Oh — Keela! Hey! Where’ve you been?”

      Scottie immediately shut their game up and spun on their chair to grin at the girl, obviously delighted to see her. They hadn’t seen her properly since the party, and they had wondered where the Hell she’d been, though granted they haven’t exactly been seeking her out. Last thing they wanted to do was be overbearing.

      Keela flushed as she found herself face to face with Scottie. She hadn't seen them since the party over break, and Keela couldn't really remember how drunk Scottie had been, but she knew that she had been absolutely fucking trashed. Hopefully she hadn't made too much of a fool of herself.
