INDONESIA IS CRIMINLAIZING RAPE VICTIMS, WORKING WOMEN, THE POOR, ETC

I ranted about this before but I’m trying to take action now, and I poste dbefore but the tags didn’t work. So Indonesia is potentially going to become a dystopic mysoginistic cruel authoritarian nation if this set of new laws get accepted. It’s disheartening that western media tends to ignore all the horrible stuff happening here and I think it needs to stop.

In days time, DPR (People’s Representative Council, the one suggetsing the laws. At this point they just abuse power and hoard money through corruption instead of being the people’s voice in this ‘democracy’) and the government will legalize a set of preposterous crimimal laws! After legalizing the revision of KPK Laws (KPK in a national organization responsible to root out and deal with corruption in the government, and DPR tweaked the laws so that KPK has less power over them, alowing them to do their dirty deeds more easily), now they want to approve the revision of RKHUP (book of criminal laws)

“How does that affect me?” If you think so, better check if you’re among the people below. Because in RKUHP, these people are considered “criminals” (based on the draft agreed by DPR at 15 Sept)

Rape Victims - will be imprisoned for 4 years if they want to abort the resulting fetus

Women that have to go home from work late and night, found ‘displaced’ on the streets - Fined for 1 Million rupiah (about 71 USD)

Women who are forced to have roomates that are the opposite sex due to financial problems - can be reported and imprisoned for 6 months

Buskers (street performers) - Fined for 1 Million rupiah

Parking attendants (in many places at Indonesia, parking attendants help you park your car (most not employed by someone so members of the lower economic class), and their income comes fully from what you pay them) - Fined for 1 Million rupiah

Homeless people - Fined for 1 Million rupiah

Abandoned mentally disabled people - Fined for 1 Million rupiah

Journalists or Netizen (generally every Indonesian who uses the internet) - will be imprisoned for 3.5 years for criticizing the president

Parents can’t show contraception tools to their children because they are not the “authorized officers” and will be fined for 1 Million rupiah

Children who are reported to commit adultery by their parents - imprisoned 1 year

The worst part is that we can be punished as criminals whenever they want as a form of “traditional obligation” if considered offending “the law of the people” (this will be used as a front for racist acts. Even now racism against non majority ethinicities and religions such as Chinese Indonesians and non muslims (Being the majority, Indonesia radical muslim figureheads act like a racist prejudiced American pastor would. The situation is like how Christian and white supremacists are in America, the radical figureheads hold much power and oppress people of other political and religious beliefs with mobs of followers they manipulated for their cause.) are prevalent and the higher ups can be biased against our ethincity and so divert justice from us. This will worsen it)

Seriously, “the law of the people” what does that even mean? BS. The RKUHP proposal isn’t even certain and the government admits to have not researched on it! So incompetent right!

And then about corruptors, hmmm, in the revision of the KUHP the punishment for hoarding money for self gain in a way that defies the law for corruptors which was 4 years of prison is changed to be lighter, into 2 years of prison! (Which makes it lighter than rape victim abortion)

How did they make these absurd laws?

At 18 September 2019, the DPR had just performed a meeting with the Ministry of Human Rights for the legalization of RKUHP at level 1 (very near approval)

In spite of that, there is 1 more step to prevent the legalization of the laws, at the Plenary Meeting of the Indonesian DPR.

The President can reject the approval for this absurd set of laws.

Let’s ask the President to reject this RKUHP at the Plenary Meeting of its approval!

Now we can’t keep ignoring this anymore. Because anyone can be imprisoned. Me, you, our family, our friends, our crushes (Indonesia in-joke). #SEMUABISAKENA (#EVERYONECANBECAUGHT)

Long ago we stopped laws that could imprison people criticizing the DPR from being approved. Now we also still have a chance to cancel this preposterous set of laws.

I’m gonna just like list out the horryfing stuff that can happen because the world needs to fucking know and the western media doesn’t care a bit about this until its too late. All the utter mysoginistic, ableist, and authoritarian shit.

Women, the mentally ill, the poor are gonna be oppresed further

A set of criminal laws in Indonesia are going to be accepted and it includes:

4 years of prison for rape victims who want to abort their fetus

1 million rupiah or 71 US dollars fine for homeless people, buskers/street performers, low economy people who don’t have proper work to make a living, women who go home late from work which they auto consider as “looking like they are homeless,” mentally disabled people who are abandoned in the streets, parents who teach sex ed to their children as they are not ‘authorized officials’.

Women who share a room/live with a memeber of the opposite sex outside marriage even if its due to financial problems cna be imprisoned for 6 months

Everyone that complains about the president gets imprisoned for 3.5 years

People can be freely punished by a community if its according to the bullshit “law of the people” AKA like how white supremacists in america can opress minorities, the same can happen here for religious, political, and ethnic minorities

The corrupt council of people who are making these laws, they propose to only be punished for 2 years for corruption and embezzlement, and allowed to ‘take a break’ and ‘refresh’ outside prison while in their sentence.

Seriously, this is terrible, and heck I don’t know if the government even cares (I know that the people’s representative council was always corrupt but I thought at least the president wasn’t gonna support this but now idk).

Also bothered that I had never heard of him till I watched Imitation Game on Netflix. After that was asking if people knew him but NOPE, NO ONE.

If y’all wanna know the true power of hate, just remember that Alan Turing, the breaker of the enigma code in WWII, was driven to suicide by being forced to undergo chemical castration as a punishment for his homosexuality.

Historians say he saved 14 to 21 million lives.

I’d also like to say in the time we studied WWII in school, the history textbooks never mentioned him. I had never heard of the guy until I watched “The Imitation Game” which I 110% recommend you watch if you haven’t.Alan Turing was a blessing to humanity who saved (once again) 14 to 21 million lives, and he is left out of history because he was gay.

And this is just one example?? So many brilliant and heroic people are left out of history because of their race, their gender, their sexuality, their religion, and it’s just because some bigots in positions of influence get to decide what parts of history are remembered.

Friday, July 5th: I’m literally so exhausted at my entire life right now, please help if you can…

Hello everyone, I’m Gemma. I’ve tried so, so hard to put off making this post and I am quite sure that everyone is beyond tired of seeing this shit from me by now, and I sincerely apologize to be asking for help again and again but I desperately need help with my overdrawn acct & to get groceries.

As most of you are aware, I have been struggling financially for quite some time due to my welfare benefits (U.C & Housing Benefit) being revoked, under the UK’s controversial changes to how benefits are assessed and assigned. And due to my mental health and some unfortunate DWP mess-ups, my benefits have been on and off sanctions for over a year now. I am currently waiting for the DWP to send me for a medical assessment (I received the medical questionnaire yesterday, July 4th), which I am hoping will fix my benefits and offer me more assistance as I am unable to work due to my persistent low mood and fatigue.

However, the process and paperwork for a medical can take weeks and often months to go through (I have been waiting since January). And due to immense stress and anxiety to make ends meet, my mental health has quickly declined. To make matters worse, a few weeks ago my unemployment advisor, who is consistently mishandling and misplacing my medical sicknotes, lost my medical lines and due to this, further sanctions have been temporarily placed on my benefit. Which means the £128.88 I used to receive on a monthly basis has been put on hold until the issues can be resolved.

These past few months have been absolute hell for me, and with no income, I’ve been relying on the kindness of others to get by. However, due to quite a lot of overdue bills, chargebacks and late fees, which has caused the overdrawn amount on my bank *above*, it’s been difficult to stay out of debt. Previous donations have gone to help me pay my rent, bills, and I had to replace my broken fridge freezer **thank you to everyone who helped** my new appliance arrives today!! However, I’m still struggling to get in groceries as I had to throw my old ones out.

If anyone could spare any amount to help me, even if it’s just £1/$1/€1, it would literally save my life, and sharing definitely helps just as much as donations. Nobody is obligated in any way to donate or buy anything off my wishlist if they can’t or don’t want to, I know we’re all struggling.

There is A lot more blood in my tongue then I realised

So the other day i was walking and eating my apple. Tooth went straight past the apple and proceeded to puncture my tongue in a slight angle.

let me tell you... SHIT HURT

i expected some blood so i touched the palm of my hand to my tongue. A small spot of blood was there. 

I checked again and a mixture of built up saliva and blood stream down my focking arm like a water fall. 

Somehow my sister didn't notice the large amounts of blood that now covered both my arm and repeatedly asked if i was okay.

Not loosing my shit on her was the hardest thing I have ever done because I was quite obviously NOT OK. By the time my sister noticed i was rushing to the bathroom and rinsing my mouth out with cold water. 

I checked the mirror but I was bleeding faster than i was rinsing and all I saw was a large spot of blood and a majority of the center was DEEP RED and it made the cut look a lot larger then it was and I was starting to question if multiple teeth went into my tongue rather than the one tooth I felt but i Kept rinsing non-stop.

 I finally look up again and there was just a tiny bit of my tongue that had been cut into and blood started to pour out and I was looking at the quantity like HOW!! i rinsed again and was like FoCK I SHoulD bE APplYIng pResSURe!

do i did that... for like a whole 1 or 2 mins... the bleeding fortunately stop

My mom wasn't homeat the time so i messaged her and she was like “you okay” “do you need stitches” and I kept insisting I was fine and that i was just going to go back to the wc to clean the remaing blood on my arms and hands and that i would just leave my apple alone for now.

i come back with a missed call and a message to call her so i did and I was like “Hi mom” and she was like “Are joking right now” and the amount of offended i felt was indescribable like I almost die of blood loose and you have the AUDACITY to ask i aM JOKING! like no i am not making this up.

I sent her a pic and eventually i went to bed. I woke the next more and i completely forgot the trauma i experienced the night previous till my toungue touch the roof of my mouth.

I was scared to eat hard food the whole morning.

I find this whole ordeal very funny though...
