Well here it is. The end on year assessment. I managed to be put in the Lead of a little game called TANK! where 4 players fight in teams of two in 1 tank per team. These are 2 of the tanks from the game (Done by artist Tracer), the German (Czech) PanzerKampfWagon 38 (t) and the Soviet T-70. 2 of the light tanks in this game. More to come soon.

Working on a Game Jam game with some other students at AIE. Filling a producer/designer role in a game where one player is a fox and one is a farmer. The fox has to get the chickens and the farmer has to get the fox.

With the pitches for the final project for the course coming up I have started designing a game for it. This game is known as TANK!. Tank is a Isometric 2v2 tank shooter with one tank on each side. One player driving the tank and the other shooting and controlling the gun.

Finally gotten around to working on something that’s not an FPS. But this isn’t a video game either.
This is my Tabletop Skirmish Wargame: Ganglands.
In Ganglands you control a small (very small) force from a gang that controls the land after the apocalypse and fight other gangs over various objectives such as territory, weapons, anything you want really.
Their will be set game types but that’s a later down the track thing (have to make sure the game works first).
So if you want to have a game everything you need (so far) is located right here.

Started a new game. Afrika 1950. In an alternate world, WWII didn’t end in 1945 but is still going. Technological advances are everywhere and now there are units such as the Panzermech roaming the battlefield. This is a story based FPS (yes story based).
For now at least I’m only working on a vertical slice of a level, not the whole game. More coming soon.

Been working on a card game known as Imito with some people for a game jam. Think charades with cards and funny actions, not just miming. These are 3 of the cards courtesy of our teams artists Amanda, Chek and Casey.

Here is the results of my teams labours from Global Game Jam 2017. Despite the fact I slept in a tiny corner in the middle of a hallway and the fact I had about 8 - 9 hours sleep over the weekend I really enjoyed myself. Making a game under those sort of time constraints isn’t easy but the end result I am really happy with (The theme was Waves in case you hadn’t heard). Shout out to @johncdunning, @dogansevik and Scott (don’t have his tumblr name).

Have been working at Global Game Jam to make a small game with 3 friends. This game is called Seaside Chow. The objective of the game is to throw sharks at people to try and score the most amount of points in 30 seconds. I have been working on the people and score aspect while @johncdunning has been working on the sharks and some arty stuff. @dogansevik has been doing a lot of production stuff while our last member, Scott has been focusing on the major models and the animations. (Eternal Whale is our team name).

A new weapon in NAS-Z. The M4A1 Carbine. It has a scope you can look down and some of the jittery-est shooting animations you will see. Overall I am quite happy with this weapon (mainly the scope), and will hit Unity with renewed energy. I did not make this model, but I did do the programming and the animations for it (and put the scope on top).

Quiet Week
This week, not much has been going on (regretably), the only thing of note is that I have been reacquainting myself with the Skyrim Creation Kit (The Special Edition one) so I can finally work on the mod I am making for the DnD Campaign that I am a part of.

While not strictly Game Design related, DMing a DnD campaign can really shake things up a bit. Hoping to learn some new things about Game Design and Producing though, Heard that there is quite a bit to fish from that endeavour.

The Beginning!!!!
Wow. The year is over.
I don’t know whether this year has taken forever or if it has flown past.
A brief recap is in order i think
This year didn’t start with making video games (or even playing them), but with board games. We both made and played board games (that was probably my second favourite module).
Next was the Level Design and Art module (where I made the bus).
Soon after was the Programming module (Defiantly my favourite), and where my current game was created (NAS-Z or Not Another Shitty Zombie Game).
Then it was the stories in games module (it was ok), where I worked on the universe of new world.
Then the testing module where we did so much I’ve kind of forgotten.
Lastly was The Waddlesome Feud. Probably the best learning experience I have ever done.
This is quite possibly the wisest thing I have ever done in my life and wouldn’t change a thing.

The FN FAL (or “Right Arm of the Free World”), stage 1 model complete. Stage 2 will come in the next phase of production (along with the texture and animations) but it is in (not a working gun).
